Sovereign of the Firmaments

Reece and Harper were still new to the family. So, they didn't know about the capability of Beck; however, they were sure about one thing that she is the boss when Lucas was not around.

After warning the youngsters who were just novices in their respective professions to not come out of the manor, they followed Beck.

'Didn't the young master say that the evil portal will open after 25 days? Why did it open just after six days?'

Beck silently muttered to herself; however, she only had one thought in her head, 'We have to gain as many kills as possible to upgrade the family rank.'

In this world, just like how the talents are classified, the families were also classified into various ranks or levels.

Every family will start with no rank and currently Hellmore family is unranked because they haven't contributed anything to the firmament.

As long as they contribute enough in protecting the firmament from the evil portals, their rank would be upgraded automatically from unranked to Baron. Baron to Viscount, Earl, Marquis, Duke and finally the Sovereign ranked family.

Generally, a sovereign ranked family is in charge of a firmament; however, if there was no sovereign family in the firmament, the responsibility will fall into the hands of the strongest family.

"Today, our family should be ranked by the heavens. Let's go."

After coming out of the manor, Beck shouted loudly, increasing the morale of the fighters of the family before summoning all five of her spirit beasts.

"Yes, young miss."

Everyone was excited, especially the young slaves whose status had changed now.

Hellmore family is their family now, the higher its rank is, the higher their status will go.

Soon, everyone rushed forwards and started killing the evil spirit beasts.

Azrael and his mother, the white tiger, were left behind to guard the manor and their residents; however, what they didn't know was there was already a guardian spirit beast protecting the manor just by exuding its small presence in a radius of the manor.

After sensing the presence of the shadow dragon, no evil werecat dared to come; instead, they shifted their directions to other new families.

Actually, the shadow dragon inside its guardian lair wants to come out and show its might; however, it was under the strict orders that it should not come out of the guardian lair unless the Hellmore family is in danger. So, it was just lying in its lair waiting for a dangerous situation to arise.

"Ada, second transformation and hunt only rank 3 spirit beasts."

"Spade, Dane, Arid, Fenris, leave no evil spirit beast alive."

Beck gave the orders to her spirit beasts who started killing the rank 3 evil spirit beasts as though they were nothing.

Especially, the transformed white lion, it directly devoured them without any fear of turning into an evil spirit beast.

Netherworld's spider would cast her webs to tie up the rank 3 spirit beasts which were devoured by Fenris.

The forest imp and the forest fairy formed a team just like the spider and wolf to kill the rank 3 werecats.

'Knight champion, activate.'

The leader of the Surge squad activated his skill which made the nine young men behind him become tier 3 lesser knights which was an instant jump of two tiers because of the skill.

"Everyone, activate your skills. Let's clear all the rank 2 werecats in 10 minutes."

After activating his skill, Arthur shouted at his squad members.

Soon, all nine members of the squad activated their skills and increased their battle prowess to the next level before started killing the evil spirit beasts.

For the next ten minutes, they completely turned into monsters killing all the evil spirit beasts in their sight.

Even in that state, they were still able to differentiate between friend and foe. So, they only killed the evil spirit beasts.

Even though the barrier around the town was activated within 15 minutes after the evil portal was opened, there were more than 10000 evil spirit beasts inside the town and among them, more than 1000 of them were rank 3 spirit beasts and 100 of them were rank 4 evil werecats.

'That is the time we have to make our entry just like a hero saving the town from the evil spirit beasts invasion.'

As for the great families and the guilds, they were still waiting because they were hoping the barrier of the town would get destroyed before they joined the battle.

Every one of them had the same idea and no plans to help the adventurer's guild.

Soon, the evil spirit beasts inside the town started decreasing and at the same time, the human casualties started increasing.

Those who have strength were getting exhausted because of the fight as their profession sea's started becoming empty.

'Damn it….at this rate, the barrier can't hold on for much longer. These bastards clearly have no intention to join the fight until the adventurer's guild falls.'

All the managers who were fighting multiple rank 4 spirit beasts could not help but curse the top families and the guilds.

'That Hellmore family raised good fighters in such a short time; however, they still lack the strength to fight the rank 4 spirit beasts.'

Manager Rean, who was keeping an eye on the fighters from the new families, could not help but sigh bitterly; however, what he saw just after he finished his words, made him change his opinion about the Hellmore family.
