In the hidden valley, Lucas was waiting for the Umbra wolves to come near him and the moment they were only a few meters away from him, Lucas rushed towards them using the 'Ghost steps' movement technique.

'Slash'

In a brief moment, Lucas assassinated the two Umbra wolves; however, the third one turned into a shadow as his dagger passed through the air without touching anything.

'Ding,

          The host assassinated two rank 3 Umbra wolves and gained 200 sovereign points.

'Ding,

          Do you want to extract the skills from the mid-level rank 3 Umbra wolf?

'Huh?'

Without any surprise, Lucas received the system notifications; however, what surprised him was the skill used by the third Umbra wolf to escape his attack.

'No'

Even though he could extract the skills from any one of the two corpses lying on the ground, Lucas decided to assassinate the third Umbra wolf which had the highest cultivation among the three.

'Since it has higher cultivation, the skill I gain from it will be naturally stronger compared to the skills extracted from these two umbra wolves.'

Looking at the third Umbra wolf which was running for its life, Lucas silently thought in his head.

'It's time to use the new skill.'

Lucas knew that once the Umbra wolf went after the hidden valley, it would be impossible to catch it because of its natural black coloured body along with its dark skills.

So,.he decided to use the skill he gained from the Vampire bat.

'My prey'

Soon, he activated his new skill to lock the target which was none other than the escaping Umbra wolf.

'Huh? What is it? A map?'

Once the target was selected, a holographic map appeared in his head in which there were two small dots. One was green and the other one was red.

'Red one must be my prey. This skill is cooler than I thought.'

After using the skill, Lucas finally understood how the skill actually works and liked it very much.

'Now, let's see how you are going to escape from me.'

Lucas was not in a hurry to kill the third Umbra wolf as he still had more than 20 minutes left before he had to sacrifice the second spirit beast for his assassin profession.

"Phantom, let's go."

Lucas stored the corpse of the two-spirit beasts lying on the ground and followed the map that appeared in his head.

'Screech'

However, the Silent Phantom didn't follow him; instead, it screeched at him and signalled Lucas to go after the Umbra wolf.

'Huh?'

Lucas frowned and saw that the Silent Phantom pointed into the direction where the Umbra wolves were resting earlier.

"Okay then. I will come here after killing it."

Even though Lucas had enough time, it was not enough for him to go back and waste more of his time. So, he didn't follow the Silent Phantom and rushed after the third Umbra wolf.

'Screech'

As though it understood what Lucas had said, the Silent Phantom nodded its head while flying back.

'Looks like Phantom has something that it wants in this hidden valley and from the looks of it, it tried its best to take it; however, the Umbra wolves must be guarding it.'

Finally, Lucas understood how the Silent Phantom was able to easily dodge the combined attacks of the three Umbra wolves because it was trying to take something that was guarded by the Umbra wolves.

In the wilderness, it was not uncommon for the spirit beasts to guard the natural treasures. So, Lucas was not surprised that Umbra wolves were guarding something which seemed to be beneficial to dark elemental spirit beasts.

'I wonder what it is?'

Even though he was curious about the item guarded by the Umbra wolves, Lucas needed to kill the third Umbra wolf first to gain another skill.

'Huh? It stopped moving.'

The red dot in the imaginary map in his head which was moving until now, stopped all of a sudden, making Lucas reveal an evil smile on his face.

'It's time for perfect assassination.'

It was what Lucas called when he knew where the target was and was completely confident in killing the target.

'That human was scary.'

Behind a boulder, the third Umbra wolf was still unable to control its anxiety when it remembered the look of the human who tried to kill it.

'Even though I will miss the treasure, my life is more valuable than it.'

It continued to think in its head and slumped to the ground to take some rest as it spent all its energy in escaping Lucas' attack earlier.

'Slash'

However, just as the spirit beast closed its eyes, it felt a sharp pain in its head and it closed its eyes forever.

'Ding,

          The host assassinated a high-level rank 3 spirit beast and gained 100 sovereign points.

'Ding,

          Analyzing and modifying the skills from the Umbra wolf's body for the host to select. Please wait.

'Finally, the map in my head disappeared with the elimination of my prey.'

Looking at the spirit beast corpse in front of him, Lucas nodded his head as he got to know more about his new skill.

'Ding,

        Extracting all the skills of the Umbra wolf.

'Ding,

          1) The 'Moon essence absorber' has remained the same. (Passive Skill)

          2) The 'Shadow clones' have remained the same.

          3) The 'Shadow swap' has remained the same.

          4) The 'Umbra beam' has remained the same.

          5) The 'Shadow claw' has remained the same.

'Huh? No skill has been modified?'

Lucas was a little surprised; however, he didn't think much because the skills from the sacrificed spirit beast will be modified in such a way that the assassin or knight could easily use them because those skills were originally meant for spirit beasts.

However, some skills don't have to be modified because they could be used by humans without any problem.

'Let's see which skill is most useful for me.'

Soon, Lucas started checking the skills one by one.
