Sovereign of the Ashes

Chapter 1959: The Sky-Reaching Giant Arm

  • Next Chapter

The formidable barrier of Cloud Dragon Stream Plane, upon which its defenders had placed such high hopes, ultimately held out for less than half a day before the Dawn Empire broke through.

Before this, the Gallant Federation commander had confidently declared, based on calculations performed by the fleet’s computers, that the planar barrier could hold for at least three months.

Reality proved far crueler...

On Sein’s side of the battlefield, Belphane was the first to force her way through the barrier under a storm of enemy fire.

Fermera, Ximen Feixiao, the God of Black Mist, and the others followed closely behind, breaking into the plane one after another.

Piloting the newly reconstructed Burning Flame Unit, Yuri returned to the battlefield once more.

Burning Flame looked markedly different from her previous form.

Crafted from materials and components of far higher quality, even her overall frame had grown noticeably larger.

Soaring above the battlefield once more, Yuri could barely contain her excitement.

While faithfully carrying out Sein’s combat orders, she also used the battle as an opportunity to test the capabilities of her newly rebuilt partner.

The moment she entered Cloud Dragon Stream Plane, Yuri suddenly spread the wings mounted on either side of Burning Flame’s back.

Within the unfolded wings were rows upon rows of densely packed elemental missile launchers.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Thousands of homing missiles shout out from Burning Flame’s wings.

In an instant, countless bright yellow alloy projectiles streaked across the sky, blanketing it in trails of blazing light.

These elemental missiles were a new weapon Sein had added to the Burning Flame Unit. Their design combined the advanced weapon technology of the Gallant Federation warship previously devoured by the Magic Cube with Sein’s own mastery of alchemy.

Judging by their first performance in actual combat, the results were rather impressive...?

BOOM!

Violent explosions erupted across the battlefield below.

Terrifying shockwaves swept outward as massive mushroom clouds rose over Cloud Dragon Stream Plane.

Each individual missile possessed enough destructive power to threaten even Rank Three or even demigod-level beings.

With thousands unleashed at the same time, the resulting devastation was no less impressive than that of a low-level forbidden spell.

Rank Four and Rank Five creatures caught within the bombardment were instantly swallowed by the violent explosions and surging waves of energy.

“Not bad,” Sein murmured.

Still standing on the deck of the planetary fortress outside the plane, he watched the mushroom clouds rising below and nodded in satisfaction.

At this moment, the planetary fortress had yet to enter Cloud Dragon Stream Plane.

The breach Belphane and the others had torn through the planar barrier was large enough for them and their legions to enter.

The planetary fortress, however, was too massive. It would have to wait a little longer.

Sein looked toward the battlefield where Gongsun Wudi and her forces were fighting. The intensity of the battle there was clearly on another level!

No wonder Kigard had called Gongsun Wudi “the strongest below the overlords”

This battle on the medium-sized plane would likely be the first time Sein witnessed the full extent of her combat prowess.

Deep within the region where Gongsun Wudi was fighting, a colossal vortex of energy had appeared.

The churning white clouds surrounding it continued to swell, spreading farther with every passing moment.

From time to time, furious and anguished dragon roars echoed out from within the battlefield.

The Dawn Empire had always possessed a special fondness for dragon-type creatures.

Many of its warriors dreamed of acquiring a dragon mount, for doing so would grant them the chance to join the elite Valiant Dragon Corps.

Cloud Dragon Stream Plane appeared to be home to a considerable number of dragon-type creatures.

However, it was still unclear how the Dawn Empire intended to deal with them.

At the very least, Gongsun Wudi had shown no intention of restraining her attack in order to subdue them.

From the looks of things, the battle remained as fierce as ever.

Time and again, native dragons of Cloud Dragon Stream Plane fell from the skies amidst mournful wails.

By the time the planetary fortress beneath Sein’s feet finally began making a descent into Cloud Dragon Stream Plane, the battle directly below had already begun to settle.

The Rank Six mobile suit sent by the Gallant Federation as reinforcement was being held back by Belphane and Fermera working together.

As for the two figures who had played a decisive role in opening this front, the God of Scorching Wind and the God of the Black Dog, Sein could not spot either of them for the moment.

Yuri, on the other hand, was performing exceptionally well.

Having returned to the battlefield, she joined forces with the God of Black Mist and the others to suppress the opposing native deities.

She showed no signs of being affected by the planar suppression of this world.

Sein swept his gaze across the battlefield. Most of the forces stationed in this region were native creature legions.

There were some Gallant Federation ships as well, but not many. They had most likely been drawn away by Gongsun Wudi’s assault.

Sein ordered the planetary fortress to open fire. After a period of bombardment, however, the tide of battle showed no significant change.

Sein raised an eyebrow.

In the next instant, a world-class secret treasure appeared in his hand.

The Magic Cube glowed with brilliant blue light.

Many nearby Rank Four and above beings sensed the unusual fluctuations rippling through the battlefield and turned their attention toward Sein.

Sein slammed the Magic Cube in his hand into the planetary fortress beneath him.

As the cube erupted with a dazzling, ethereal glow, Sein’s figure faded from view and vanished into the fortress.

A moment later, deep, rumbling booms shook the battlefield, accompanied by the shrill screech of metal grinding against metal.

The surrounding law-wielding deities and Gallant Federation generals stared in disbelief.

The colossal planetary fortress, now radiating a unique blue light of laws from within, began to transform.

Slowly, its immense structure unfolded and reshaped itself into a towering metallic fortress robot of terrifying proportions!

Compared to Sein’s previous experiments, this transformation was far smoother!

There was barely a pause throughout the entire process, nor was it disrupted by the fierce battles raging all around it.

Some of the quicker-reacting Gallant Federation ships and mobile suit pilots immediately opened fire in Sein’s direction.

However, before their attacks could reach him, they were intercepted by layer upon layer of energy shields surrounding the colossal fortress robot.

At this moment, Sein was not the only one controlling the gigantic construct.

The crew originally stationed within the fortress was also assisting with its operation.

Those layers of energy shields were part of the planetary fortress’ original defensive system.

Sein had even generously authorized the lower-ranking beings within the fortress to operate some of its smaller secondary weapons.

These lesser beings, now helping Sein pilot the colossal metallic fortress robot, were far luckier than those who had participated in his earlier experiments.

Not only had they survived without being killed by some unexpected experimental mishap, but they were now relying on the might of this fortress robot and Sein’s own strength to participate in a battle far beyond their life level!

Water vapor filled Cloud Dragon Stream Plane in abundance. As the colossal fortress robot “rose” to its full height, its head and shoulders disappeared into the clouds above.

The sight was terrifying beyond imagination.

The Rank Four and Rank Five native deities with less battlefield experience could only stare in horror as Sein’s metallic colossus towered into the heavens.

Then, the colossal fortress robot raised its right arm and slammed its fist downward.

The Rank Four native deity locked in Sein’s sights looked around in utter bewilderment, only to be completely engulfed in darkness the next instant!
