Sovereign of the Ashes
Chapter 1918: Battle of Coordination
Gongsun Wudi marveled at the unique way Sein wielded his power.
What he did not know was that Sein himself felt rather awkward at that moment.
Part of the reason was that the technology was still immature, so Sein’s combat movements felt somewhat clumsy.
No perfect skill was mastered overnight. Every ability required countless rounds of adjustment and refinement before it could truly be perfected.
Right now, Sein was still in that stage of adaptation.
His decision to test his abilities in real combat was not born from arrogance, but from the simple fact that the enemy before him posed no real threat.
More importantly, the actual battle exposed far more flaws than the dull and repetitive tests conducted in a laboratory.
Driven by the speed of the eight wings behind him, the lightsaber in Sein’s hand unleashed terrifying cutting power.
After charging forward and severing one of Hurricane God’s arms, Sein spun around, revealing a cannon barrel embedded in his chest.
Suppressed Rank Six energy rapidly gathered within the barrel.
A blinding white beam of energy erupted forth.
The Hurricane God had no way of withstanding such overwhelming Rank Six power.
The divine artifacts he wielded were a conch shell and a hammer.
If the Hurricane God had possessed resources comparable to White Stella’s, then he might have stood a chance against the combined might of Sein and Fermera.
Unfortunately, neither the conch shell nor his Storm Hammer was a world-class secret treasure.
The Storm Shield formed from his divine power could not withstand Sein’s lightsaber, let alone the cannon beam that followed immediately after.
The fact that he lost an arm the instant they clashed was already enough to show how terrifying Sein had become in this empowered state.
Among the surrounding legions, many soldiers of the Dawn Empire were witnessing Sein in action for the first time.
Quite a few younger powerhouses from the Dawn Empire had long been curious about just how powerful the Magus Civilization truly was.
And at this very moment, Sein was clearly giving them the wrong impression, making them believe that this was the standard combat style of the Magus Civilization...
The destructive energy beam, with power comparable to late-stage Rank Six, shattered the Wind Conch in the Hurricane God’s hand before effortlessly piercing through his body.
Whether Sein had done it intentionally or had simply missed his intended target remained unclear.
The beam of energy avoided the precious divine relic located at the center of the Hurricane God’s chest.
Instead of piercing his heart, it slipped through the gap between his ribs and tore through his body.
Naturally, this preserved the most valuable part of the Hurricane God’s corpse, but it also meant that he had not completely lost his ability to fight, despite suffering a devastating blow.
The two-horned Hurricane God stared at the metallic mobile suit before him in terror.
The overwhelming gap in strength had completely crushed his will to continue fighting. Surging deep-blue storm laws instantly pushed his speed to its limit as he turned to flee.
When it came to escaping, those who mastered aero elemental laws possessed a tremendous advantage, second only to experts of spatial laws.
“Trying to run?” Sein, currently fused with Fermera, immediately detected the creature’s intention to escape through the elemental display screen before him.
Although he was still not fully accustomed to the controls, Sein once again activated the power of the Magic Cube.
In an instant, the eight metallic wings on his back spread open.
The wings, which combined both angelic and demonic aesthetics, had undergone tremendous changes in both size and form. At the same time, they granted an enormous boost in speed and kinetic force.
The “human-machine integration” concept Sein had worked on over the years did not benefit him alone.
As a vital part of this system, Fermera should theoretically also receive a significant boost from both Sein and the Magic Cube.
Previously, when Fermera wielded the Magic Cube alone, her strength had already increased dramatically.
However, the Magic Cube was ultimately a world-class secret treasure that recognized Sein as its master.
Over time, every aspect of it had gradually become infused with the Magus Civilization’s magic and alchemy.
This meant that only Sein could truly unleash its full power!
Before meeting Sein, the federal scientist named Syphen had only managed to engineer Fermera into a combat angel with early to mid-stage Rank Six strength.
After meeting Sein, however, the awakening triggered by the Magic Cube, combined with the countless modifications Sein later performed on her, had likely stabilized Fermera’s strength at mid-stage Rank Six, perhaps even pushing it beyond her original limits.
Now that Sein had succeeded in this human-machine integration, their combined combat power should, in theory, reach late-stage Rank Six.
But theory remained theory. It was rarely fully realized in a single attempt.
Based on actual combat tests, the main cannon fired by Fermera could indeed unleash attacks at late-stage Rank Six power.
However, due to poor coordination between the two, Sein’s unfamiliarity with this combat mode, and Fermera’s own discomfort from merging with him, their current combined combat strength might actually be weaker than Fermera fighting alone.
Accelerating forward, Sein easily intercepted the Hurricane God just as he began to flee.
Dense clusters of blue-violet energy particles appeared around Fermera’s eight wings.
These light particles represented the fusion of technology, machinery, and the essence of magic elements.
Using the energy circuits formed by the eight metallic wings, Sein rapidly constructed specialized spell models and elemental nodes throughout their shared body.
The Magic Cube granted an enhancement comparable to the power of laws themselves, making the destructive force of those energy particles absolutely terrifying.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
A dense storm of blue-violet energy rained down upon the Hurricane God in his divine form.
Although Sein and Fermera had not yet achieved perfect synchronization, Sein’s overwhelming barrage, combined with Fermera’s auto-targeting system and the Magic Cube’s amplification, ensured that most of the attack struck the Hurricane God as he tried to escape.
A shrill scream tore through the battlefield.
At the same time, numerous starships piloted by beings from Divine Descendants World rushed forward in an attempt to rescue their god.
Followers of the faith-based systems all shared one defining trait—fanaticism and a complete disregard for death!
Even though the god they worshipped was clearly no match for Sein and was already letting out agonized screams, these weaker beings still charged forward without hesitation, driven by their faith and the belief that sacrificing themselves for their deity was a sacred duty.
“Devote yourself to the god!”
That was the nature of most devout believers.
As for true fanatics, they were even more extreme.
They would willingly take down heretics and blasphemers in suicidal attacks without the slightest hesitation.
The Divine Descendants fleet converging from all directions caused Sein to frown slightly.
The blue-violet light particles around his eight metallic wings had not yet faded when Sein suddenly raised his right hand and clenched it tightly.
In the next instant, another overwhelming barrage of energy beams swept across the surrounding starfield battlefield!
Crackle!
Pew! Pew! Pew!
BOOM!
Explosions and violent elemental shockwaves erupted one after another throughout the battlefield.
Large numbers of Divine Descendants warships were struck by the energy beams, spiraling toward the ground while engulfed in eerie violet flames.
These violet flames were the result of Sein’s research into evolving the Decomposing Azure Flame.
While the armor technologies of the Gallant Federation’s mobile suits and warships had been steadily advancing, Sein’s understanding of pyro elemental laws had also deepened over time.
The result was this new form of violet flame—born from Sein’s repeated refinement and compression of pyro elemental essence, and further amplified through his fusion with Fermera.
Judging from the actual battlefield results, the energy efficiency and destructive power of these violet flames were clearly superior to the original Azure Flame.
Even so, countless legions and warships from Divine Descendants Worlds still charged through the destructive flames imbued with Sein’s special law power.
Pushing through wreckage and debris, they rushed toward the battlefield as though their lives depended on protecting their deity.
Yet the Hurricane God, who constantly proclaimed his “love” for his followers, now appeared utterly terrified of Sein and Fermera’s fused form.
Wreathed in Sein’s unique flames, he had no time to treat his injuries before turning to flee once again.
The endless interference from Divine Descendants World’s lower-tier legions was beginning to irritate Sein.
He raised one hand and pointed forward.
A magnificent blue-violet portal suddenly appeared in the starfield.
Immediately afterward, more than a hundred thousand angel robots poured out in an endless stream.
Naturally, that portal was connected to the Magic Cube’s mechanical space.
On a civilizational battlefield, combat legions that could be summoned instantly at any time were undeniably more practical than the Viridescent Seeds created by Lorianne.
“Crush them!” Sein ordered.
