Chapter 189 - The Man
On a chilly night, the wind was howling. The streets were empty, as the only source illuminating them was the moonlight. The moon was coloured in crimson like the blood; it was the second blood moon of that year.
A man in a black overcoat could be seen standing near a telephone booth. With his hands inside his pockets as he seemed to have a distasteful expression on his face. The blowing wind was tugging on strands of his blonde hair.
The man stood tall as his broad shoulders seemed to have a steady and straight posture. His crimson coloured eyes were searching for something as they were wandering all around, while his other hand was fiddling with his piercing in his right ear.
Hanging from his ear was a strange earring, which was shaped like two snakes intertwined with each other as they held a scarlet coloured orb in their mouth. The man was looking around subtly while tapping his foot in agitation
In the dead of the night, as the silence was overwhelming, a faint noise of panting and rushed footsteps could be heard approaching the man. The man turned his head towards the source of the noise, and it seemed to come from the alley behind him..
Soon a young lady came running out of the alleyway and she seemed to be in a terrible condition as her blonde hair was messed up, covering her face and her makeup was smudged too. She desperately looked all around her while glancing back at the alleyway.
The man approached her and held her hand as the lady jumped in fear and turned her head instantly towards him.
"Leave me!"
"Please! Let me go!"
"They'll kill me! Please!"
"Let go of me!"
The lady pleaded crazily while looking back towards the alley and struggled to get her wrist out of his grip. As the man looked into the alley and a smile formed on his face as he let go of her hand and she started running instantly.
The man strolled into the alleyway as two men appeared in front of him. They seemed to be searching for somebody as one of them asked in a hoarse voice, "Hey! Have you seen a lady? Blonde?"
A wide grin formed on the man's face as he held the neck of that guy and slammed him against the wall beside him. The guy's friend who was watching all this unfold in front of his eyes was hesitating to put up a fight against the man in a black overcoat.
The man's eyes glanced towards the guy who was standing frozen in fear as his smile got wider. Looking at the man mocking him, the guy frantically looked around, as his eyes fell upon an iron rod. Quickly running towards it, he picked it up with his shaking hands.
"Who do you think you're, Punk!?!" The guy showed the rod he had in his arm to threaten the man, but the expression on his face remained unfazed. His eyes narrowed as it seemed like he could like right through the guy.
Looking at this, the guy stepped back a few steps as his legs were shaking. The man had a strange, intimidating aura about him. Despite his pale skin and handsome face, the guys in front of him couldn't help but shiver in terror.
"L...let him go and we won't have a pro... problem!!!" The desperation was clear in his voice as he was trying to save his accomplice, but the man had other plans. Without uttering a single word, he let go of the guy's neck, as he fell on the ground with a loud noise.
The guy frantically crawled away from the man, who had his eyes locked on the other guy now. His hands nervously touched his neck, as he was coughing and wheezing.
"Run! Get away from him!!!" The guy yelled over to his friend, but the other dude was in a rush as adrenaline was surging through his body. He wasn't aware of his surroundings, neither did his friend's words reach his ears. All he knew was the man standing in front of him.
"Run, save your life!" The guy again yelled but instead of listening to his friend, the other guy raised the iron rod and rushed towards the man while yelling in pure rage and desperation. The man sighed and shook his head as if it was rather a nuisance to him.
As the guy was closing in on him and the rod was about to make an impact with his head, the man swiftly bent his neck, evading the strike. The guy who missed his shot was staggered due to his own momentum, but the man grabbed him by his neck.
The smile again formed on his face, as his fingers wrapped tighter around his neck, and he forcefully turned the guy to face him. The fear in his eyes was as clear as water, and the rod fell from his hands and the sound of metal hitting concrete echoed through the alleyway.
His crimson eyes pierced through that guy as the orb in his earring started to glow suddenly. Even though the light-emitting was faint. Curving his lips, he smiled and moved towards the guy's ears as he whispered in a deep voice, "Slette."
And in a matter of seconds, the guy who was being held by the man inflated like a balloon and exploded. The alleyway became a bloodbath in a matter of seconds as the remains of his carcass and organs were lying around.
The guy watching this fell on his knees and he started puking from disgust and fear. The sound of him throwing upturned the man's attention towards him, as the man picked up the metal rod and started walking towards him.
The guy looked up towards him with widened eyes and a face of pure horror, but no words would escape his mouth except for wimpers. Approaching the guy, the man looked down on him as he trembled in fear and started crawling back because his legs were too weak to walk at that point.
Shaking his head violently, he joined his hands to leave him but the man's eye told that he knew no mercy. Grabbing the guy by his hair, he picked him up off the ground and slammed him against a wall again.
The helpless guy struggled like a fish caught in a net. Flawing his arms and legs violently, as he accidentally hit the man on his thighs with a kick. His eyes narrowed up, as he raised the metal rod and drove it right through his head into the wall.
With disgust on his face, the man brushed off the dirt from his thighs and walked away into the dark alleyway with heavy footsteps and the guy stopped struggling and his body hung lifeless from the wall with a pool of blood forming beneath.
