Soul for a Girlfriend?

"Right now, you're falling in love with her." She replied with a smile, and looking at my confused expression, she added in a soft tone, "You may not realise it, but that's what is happening. Your feelings won't make sense to you… it's just a warm feeling in your heart…"

I looked at her with pure confusion on my face as she chuckled. We finally reached the admin office, and I handed over the papers to the man on the desk. The man told Yuna to sign on a register before leaving.

As we were returning from the office, the register she was asked to sign is usually for taking a record of things from a particular class by their representative, so I asked, "You are the class representative?"

"Yes." She nodded her head. I was actually expecting Naoto to be class representative since she gives off those leader vibes.

With a smug smile on my face, I narrowed my eyes at her and asked, "Do people even listen to you?"

She looked towards me with a pout on her face, as she playfully punched me on the shoulder and claimed, "Hey! Of course they do… a little bit."

"You don't seem like the kind of person who would order people around." Showing her my palm in my defence, I chuckled slightly as she averted her eyes from me, still a frown forming on her face, "Is that so?"

With a slight nod, we kept walking as silence crept over us. I knew it was the right moment to do what I actually came for. And she was quite free minded at that time, so it was the best moment to slip in my demand.

"Senpai…" I called her softly as her eyes shifted towards me, and she nodded, "Hmm?"

Turning my eyes towards her, I asked, "Can I ask you to do me a favour?"

Her expression changed into a surprised one, as in a nervous tone, she asked, "F... favour? Wh… what kind of favour?"

"Don't worry, I just need a little help from you." Looking at her sudden change in composure, I was a bit confused, so I assured her and replied in a hesitant tone, "Oo...kay… help from me?"

"Why are you surprised?" I asked her looking at her troubled eyes, and she replied instantly as if this wasn't the first time she was replying to this, "No it's that I'm not a reliable person to ask for help from."

At the mention of that, I knew that it was indeed a wonderful decision for me when I helped Yuna out when she couldn't gather the members by herself. With a subtle smile on my face, "Ah I don't think so… that's why I asked for help from you."

"Eh? Really?" She looked at me with a shocked expression, as I had a calm expression on my face and went on, "And you're reliable to be honest… I remember you doing quite well before the event to convince the members."

"But that was your plan…" She was about to say something but I interrupted mid-sentence, "See… making a plan and working on it are two completely different things."

I was well aware of what I was saying, rather than saying all those on the spur of the moment. Yuna raised her index finger and opened her mouth to say something, "But…"

I interrupted her again, as she looked at me with irritated eyes and sighed, "See if I could've done it by myself back then I wouldn't have asked for your help."

She said nothing as we kept walking in silence. Looking at this tension between us, I decided to break it again by adding, "And after all, if it wasn't for you, then I don't know what would've happened with the event."

"You really think that?" Her eyes fluttered, as she wore a dubious look on her face and I replied to her with a question of my own, "Why? You don't feel that?"

She chuckled nervously as she averted eye in front of her and said in a hesitant tone, "No… it's just… I don't know… I've never been that kind of person."

"Well then, that's even better that you aren't that kind of person but still pulling these off properly… I'm impressed." I just shrugged, and she said nonchalantly, "That's one way to look at it…"

"You don't seem like the person who would doubt themselves…" Listening to her tone and hesitation, I commented as she nodded instantly and asked me, "Oh yeah? What does a person who doubts themselves look like?"

I laughed as I pointed my index finger towards my chest and said, "Here."

Our exchange went on for quite a while as she was pretty adamant about being unreliable, so I decided to use another method. As she was already in a state of confusion, guilt tripping her would be a great idea.

I narrowed my eyes sharply at her, as I asked in my usual haughty tone, "By any chance, if you don't want to help me, then you can say that… I won't mind."

She turned towards me with troubled eyes and shook her head from left to right in denial, "No, I didn't mean that…"

After a moment of pause, she said, "After all, you helped me out back then, so I will help you…"

"Don't feel obligated to help me… it's fine… okay?" I said with an assuring tone but now it seemed like she was determined to help me as she asked, "So… what favour do you want?"

"See… I know you are close with Naoto…" I said looking at her face, which changed into a suspicious one as she said in a dubious tone, "Yea… I don't like where this is going…"

"Don't worry… I just want you to find out what she really thinks of me."

"Huh?"

In a nervous tone, I shifted my eyes away from her as I continued, "Yes… I've been really curious for the past few days about her… I can't help but feel she likes me… but then again… it's Naoto Senpai… so you know…"

"How can I even find that out though!?" She looked at me in utter disbelief as I replied in an agitated tone, "Well, you're her best friend! I don't know… maybe… ask her?"

After staring at each other's faces for some while, she asked, "Are you an idiot?" 

"I… of course that's why I'm asking for help."

She turned towards me and grabbed my shoulders as we came to an abrupt stop, and looked into my eyes in all seriousness, "Bruh… she baked a cake just for you..

  what else do you want to know… she obviously likes you!"

"But it's Naoto Senpai… she doesn't look like she can like a person like me!" I looked away from her and she groaned in irritation, "Oh my god! Ok… I'll help you out…"

"Oh... really?"

  Before walking up the stairs, she turned back towards me and said, "Yes… but just know that she likes you already…"
