Chapter 85: Injured
Chapter 85: Chapter 85: Injured
With that, she thrust the dagger straight at Feng He’s heart. Feng He watched as the blade drew ever closer.
Seeing this, the hearts of the four people in the audience leaped into their throats.
Mo Xuan shot to his feet, his eyes wide as he stared at the scene unfolding.
"Feng He, look out!" Mo Xuan yelled, his heart pounding in his chest. He was terrified she would actually get hurt.
But the moment the dagger neared, Feng He’s reaction was swift. She took a step back and twisted to the side, cleanly dodging the blow.
After dodging, Feng He fixed her gaze on her opponent, her voice turning cold. "Are you trying to kill me?"
"What are you talking about?" the pink-haired girl said with a beaming smile. "This is a 1v1 match. No one is allowed to die, you know."
With that, she brandished the dagger and charged at Feng He again. Every one of her moves was a killing blow.
Feng He was put on the defensive, looking disheveled as she dodged the fatal attacks.
As her opponent lunged for her arm, Feng He tried to dodge, but she stumbled on a crack in the floor and staggered.
Her reaction slowed for a split second, and in that moment, the pink-haired girl’s dagger plunged into Feng He’s arm.
The blade sank into flesh, and Feng He’s brow furrowed in pain. Her opponent ignored her agony and wrenched the dagger free.
The pink-haired girl brought the dagger to her nose and inhaled. The coppery scent of blood brought a look of pure satisfaction to her face.
"This is the scent," the pink-haired girl said, ecstatic. "This familiar smell... it’s just divine."
Feng He clutched her wound, a speechless expression on her face as she watched the girl’s depraved display.
’This girl is completely twisted.’
Her demeanor, her expression, and her words made everyone present frown.
Seeing the pink-haired girl’s behavior, Mo Xuan’s face darkened.
He stood frozen, glaring at the girl with a vicious, sinister look in his eyes, as if he wanted to flay her alive.
The three people beside him saw his expression and, with a silent understanding, took a step away, afraid of being caught in the blast radius of his fury.
"Your blood is so sweet!" The girl extended her tongue to lick the blood from the dagger. Her eyes widened, a blush slowly creeping up her pale cheeks as her voice grew even more disturbingly alluring.
Watching her, Feng He silently took a deep breath and then settled into a fighting stance.
Once in position, Feng He said to her opponent, "Bring it."
Seeing Feng He’s defiance, the pink-haired girl let out a chuckle, then raised her dagger and charged once more.
The two clashed again, but this time, Feng He was no longer merely dodging. Instead, she went on the offensive, constantly aiming for the girl’s vital points.
Feng He had studied medicine; she knew which pressure points could numb an opponent’s body.
She also knew which ones would cause excruciating pain.
Every one of Feng He’s attacks targeted these pressure points.
When Feng He struck one of the pink-haired girl’s numbing points, the girl cried out in alarm, "What did you do?"
"Why are my hands so numb?"
Feng He glanced at her and said flatly, "I just hit one of your numbing points."
"It’ll wear off in a bit."
As she spoke, she took advantage of the girl’s inability to hold her weapon, darting forward to pick up the fallen dagger and pressing it against her opponent’s neck.
"You’ve lost," Feng He said with grave seriousness.
The pink-haired girl stared at her in disbelief. ’I’m an S-Class spiritual power user... how could I possibly lose to some Grade D trash?’
"How could I possibly lose to you?!" The pink-haired girl refused to accept this reality, her voice growing coarse.
"The fact is, you did lose to me," Feng He stated again. "And my dagger is at your throat."
As she spoke, she applied a bit of pressure. The sharp pain on her neck forced the pink-haired girl to accept reality.
’She had really lost.’
’Lost to a piece of Grade D trash, no less.’
A look of utter defeat washed over the proud girl’s face. She didn’t even register how she got off the stage.
Her mind was filled with Feng He’s words.
"’You’ve lost.’"
’Was I not trying hard enough?’
’Why would she lose to a piece of Grade D trash?’
Seeing her looking so lost, her friend hurried over to comfort her. "Nana, you did great."
"Your opponent was just shameless! Using dirty tricks like that. That’s the only reason you lost to her."
Hearing her friend’s words, Nana’s expression suddenly turned fierce. "She didn’t use any dirty tricks. Those were just techniques I’d never seen before."
"I don’t want to hear you say that ever again."
With that, she sat down on her chair and began to reflect on why she had lost.
The moment Feng He stepped down from the stage, Mo Xuan was the first to rush over, his face etched with worry.
His gaze fell on her injured arm, and the concern in his eyes was palpable.
He asked cautiously, "How is it now? Is it still bleeding?"
Then Mo Xuan turned to Lin Jingjing. "Sister Lin, get a Grade D Recovery Potion for her."
Lin Jingjing didn’t need to be told; she already had the Recovery Potion out and was handing it to him. "The wound is what’s important."
Seeing their worried faces, Feng He smiled. "I’m fine. The bleeding has stopped. Put the Recovery Potion away. Just give me some disinfectant, cotton swabs, and a bandage."
"Are you really okay?" Mo Xuan was still not convinced. Feng He smiled at him. "I’m fine, really. There’s no need for a Recovery Potion. It’s a waste."
Realizing Feng He was refusing the potion because she thought it was a waste, Lin Jingjing chimed in, "That’s what this medicine is for—healing injuries. Don’t worry about wasting it."
"Besides, aren’t you the doctor here? If we run out, you can just whip up a couple more bottles."
Persuaded by Lin Jingjing and the others, Feng He finally accepted the Recovery Potion and drank it.
The wound healed almost instantly, and the pain vanished completely.
Meanwhile, the tournament continued. The next contestant to take the stage was Mo Xuan.
Mo Xuan stood on the stage with a dark expression, staring down his opponent.
Seeing Mo Xuan’s dark expression, his opponent felt a shiver of fear for some reason.
He had a bad feeling he was going to lose horribly. When the start was called, Mo Xuan didn’t even let his opponent spout any trash talk. He lunged forward instantly, savagely unleashing all his pent-up fury.
The opponent went down fast. In just one minute, he was on the ground, defeated by Mo Xuan.
Before the crowd could even process what had happened, Mo Xuan was already off the stage and heading back to his seat in the audience.
Jiang Lusheng watched him take the man down in just a few moves, his eyes narrowing slightly.
’This kid’s skills are impressive,’ he thought. ’I wonder who taught him.’
Though he was curious, Jiang Lusheng didn’t press the issue. He just blew his whistle and announced, "Mo Xuan is the winner!"
