Chapter 154: Chapter 154: Song Therapy

Mo Xuan wasn’t afraid of him in the least. Young and reckless, he feared nothing.

Yun Yiyou told him not to speak, but he defied him, "Are you scared?"

"The Empire doesn’t treat us like people, so why should we willingly stay here and lay down our lives?"

"I won’t die for an Empire that doesn’t genuinely care about its people."

Feng He quickly cut Mo Xuan off. ’He’s better off keeping his mouth shut.’

She had to stop him before that venomous tongue of his infuriated the King. "Mo Xuan, shut up."

Mo Xuan, who had been about to unleash a tirade, immediately shut his mouth when his fiancée spoke.

A sudden silence fell over the channel. Then, Lin Jingjing spoke up. "If you don’t want to come, then don’t. You clearly don’t care about B6 Star anyway."

After she finished, Lin Jingjing told Captain Li to end the call, wanting to spare herself the anger.

Captain Li didn’t dare hang up. These young punks could afford to be reckless, but he couldn’t.

He was the captain of the King’s Personal Guard Team, the man responsible for his safety.

Yun Yiyou was also fuming, but he didn’t dare let it show, afraid people would think he was petty.

"Just hold on. I’m on my way." Yun Yiyou said no more and ended the call.

The secretary beside him pursed his lips in disapproval, but he couldn’t change a decision made by the King.

Yun Yiyou summoned his Mecha, climbed inside, and blasted off toward the front lines.

When Captain Li heard their King was coming, he was stunned for a moment, then overjoyed, he announced the good news over Mecha Channel 9.

"Everyone, our King is coming to help!"

"We’re saved!"

The other Army Commanders were overjoyed at the news. ’The King is willing to intervene! This is fantastic!’

Mo Xuan immediately poured cold water on their excitement. "What if he comes and still can’t beat them?"

"What if none of us can win? Then what?"

The hot-tempered Alderick couldn’t stop himself from retorting over the channel, "Shut your mouth! It’s not your place to yap about what our King does. You’re just a low-ranking soldier, so watch what you say."

"Our King is the strongest there is. For him, this will be an easy victory."

Mo Xuan curled his lip. ’What’s the point of this Monday morning quarterbacking? Where was he when we were calling out Yun Yiyou just now?’

"Tch," Mo Xuan scoffed.

Feng He felt a headache coming on. ’I’d finally gotten him to watch that mouth of his. Why is he starting up again now?’

"Mo Xuan, think before you speak. Don’t just spout nonsense, understand?" Feng He sighed, trying to reason with him once more.

"But they’re so infuriating," Mo Xuan grumbled, expressing his displeasure. "That’s why I couldn’t hold back."

"Calm down," Shi Feng chimed in, also trying to persuade him. "After what you just said, I was afraid we were all going to be beheaded."

"Yeah, you can’t drag everyone else into it," Gu Kaiwen added.

Finally, Mo Xuan relented. "Fine, I get it."

He didn’t speak out like that again. And though everyone was exhausted, the mutant beasts never tired.

They only knew how to surge forward, and a rampaging mutant beast was even harder to deal with.

Their combat power skyrocketed, and the casualties were simply countless.

The soldiers on the ground looked out at the devastation—a desert landscape littered with human corpses, mutant beast carcasses, and the wreckage of Mechas.

Soldiers watched as their closest friends died one by one. Even strangers, comrades who would have bravely stepped forward in times of danger, were cut down.

"Hahaha, they’re all dead." Some had already broken down, kneeling on the ground and weeping as they clutched the body of their closest friend.

"Everyone’s dead."

"Am I going to die here, too?"

Many, like him, were driven to the point of collapse by despair.

They had lost so much in this war. Their own survival was only thanks to those around them, who had sacrificed their lives time and again to save them.

They thought it would be over if they just held on a little longer, but now the sky was growing light, and still the war raged on.

Everyone was exhausted. Some felt their spiritual power slowly drying up, their heads throbbing as if being pierced by needles.

Lin Jingjing and her group climbed out of their Mechas, gazing out at the endless desert, thick with the stench of blood and despair.

Watching the soldiers’ suffering, the hearts of the five grew heavy. Lin Jingjing let out a long sigh. ’At this moment, even if I had heaven-defying abilities, I couldn’t save them all.’

Feng He couldn’t bear the sight and closed her eyes. With a healer’s compassionate heart, she couldn’t stand to see everyone in such a numb, broken state.

War was cruel. If they could, they would wish for world peace.

But what they faced now wasn’t other people; it was these mutant beasts, these monsters.

Even so, they didn’t want an endless war of annihilation.

’May the white dove of peace fly over every inch of this land, so that there will be no more war.’

"I want to help them." Feng He looked at their pale faces and pained expressions. She knew they were suffering from the depletion of their spiritual power.

"How many can you possibly help?" Shi Feng asked, his expression grave as he surveyed the scene.

"My singing can heal Sister Lin’s Spiritual World," Feng He said, voicing her idea. Then, looking at Lin Jingjing seriously, she added, "So it must be able to heal everyone, too."

Hearing this, the others instantly understood. They nodded. "Alright. We’ll support you."

Lin Jingjing immediately summoned Xiong Xiong and had Feng He stand on its back. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ

Then, she pulled a speaker from her Space Ring and handed it over. "Try using this. I don’t know if the sound will reach everyone, though."

Feng He smiled. "If even one person can hear it and be healed, it’ll be worth it."

With that, she took the speaker and climbed onto the Eagle, where Mo Xuan was already waiting.

"I’ll go with you," Mo Xuan said earnestly.

"Alright."

The two of them stood on the Eagle as it soared into the sky.

Down below, the other three cracked their knuckles, readied their weapons, and charged back into the fray.

After setting up the speaker, Feng He looked up at Mo Xuan. "I’m scared."

"I..." Before Feng He could finish, Mo Xuan cut her off. "Believe in yourself. You can do this."

"We’ve even transmigrated to this world. There’s nothing we can’t handle."

Hearing Mo Xuan’s words filled Feng He with confidence.

Once she was ready, she took a deep breath and began to sing.

"Goodbye, Mother, tonight I set sail..."

The clear, beautiful voice instantly reached everyone’s ears, for the song was infused with Feng He’s spiritual power.

All who heard it felt a sense of comfort wash over their bodies. The dull ache in their heads began to slowly subside.

They looked toward the source of the singing and saw a great bird carrying two people as it circled in the sky.

And the song followed, reaching every one of them.
