Chapter 102: Chapter 102: The 4S Entity

’As expected of the girl I have my eye on. She’s so poised and graceful at a grand event like this. It would have been perfect if her speech were a little better, though.’

Yun Yiyou’s gaze also fell upon Lin Jingjing, a hint of curiosity in his golden eyes.

’So this is the girl his captain said was so talented?’

’But from her actions just now, I can see she can handle even a surprise situation with ease. Not a trace of panic on her face.’

’Not bad, I suppose.’

If Lin Jingjing knew what he was thinking, she would have howled at the sky. ’Is this any way to mess with someone?!’

With tens of billions of people watching, she was panicking to death!

Lin Jingjing descended from the stage, her heart still trembling. But just as she stepped down, Captain Li pulled her aside.

Captain Li lowered his voice and said, "You have to take the curtain call with everyone later."

Lin Jingjing stood there rigidly. She couldn’t hear a word they were saying; her mind was a complete blank.

’This is definitely more intense than any big event I’ve been in before.’

Lin Jingjing looked over at the others on stage, wondering how they could be so commanding and fearless.

’Every one of them is completely at ease, wearing a perfectly composed smile. Big shots will be big shots.’

Finally, at the end of the ceremony, everyone stood together, saluted, and exited the stage.

The moment they were offstage, Feng He and the others swarmed around her, chattering with praise.

"Sister Lin, you’re amazing! You weren’t scared at all in front of so many people," Shi Feng praised, giving her a thumbs-up.

Gu Kaiwen chimed in, "Yeah! If that were me up there, my mind would’ve gone completely blank."

Feng He hugged her, nuzzling his cheek against hers. "Sister Lin, you look so sharp in this uniform!"

"Do you think I could ever get a uniform like this?"

Mo Xuan gave a thumbs-up and said with a smile, "Impressive."

Just then, Captain Li walked over and ruffled Shi Feng’s hair.

"So, how was that for a surprise?" Captain Li asked, looking at Lin Jingjing.

Looking utterly defeated, Lin Jingjing let out a dry laugh. "More like a scare."

"Hahaha! But you did so well, didn’t you?" Captain Li threw his head back and laughed.

"My heart was pounding the whole time. I was terrified I’d mess it up," Lin Jingjing replied.

"But you pulled it off perfectly in the end," Captain Li said with a nod. "Our King would like to sample your cooking."

"He wants to see how skilled you are and whether you’re suitable to serve as the military cooks for this competition."

’Waiting until after the opening ceremony to see if we’re suitable? Isn’t it a little late for that?’

The group once again recalled the terror of being ruled by spatulas. They wanted to refuse, but the one making the request was the King of the Empire. Resistance was futile.

"If the King is pleased, there’s a reward," Captain Li added.

The five’s expressions instantly changed. "We guarantee the mission will be a success!"

’I knew it. This bunch of little rascals just needed some Star Coins to get motivated.’

"We guarantee we’ll make a meal that His Majesty the King will find both satisfying and unforgettable," Lin Jingjing declared, puffing out her chest.

"Deal." Captain Li also wanted his King to try the cooking of these little rascals.

After all, the person who would be eating their food today was the most powerful being in the entire Empire.

"Captain Li, you look so handsome today!" Feng He circled him, eyes full of admiration.

"That’s right. We almost didn’t recognize you when you made your entrance," Lin Jingjing added with a nod. Looking at the clean-shaven Captain Li, she saw that without his beard, he looked sharp and handsome, completely shedding his previously scruffy image.

Captain Li rubbed his nose. He hadn’t wanted to shave, but Wang Yi had come to see him last night and given him a look of utter disgust.

He was the captain of the King’s Personal Guard Team, in charge of all the soldiers in the Imperial Palace.

He really couldn’t be that scruffy. In the end, Captain Li had no choice but to clean himself up and revert to his former appearance.

After leaving the stage, Yun Yiyou strode forward, followed by a large entourage of dignitaries.

As he passed their corner, Yun Yiyou’s golden eyes swept over them.

An invisible pressure washed over them. The group, who had been quietly discussing what dishes to make, felt their expressions stiffen.

Shi Feng, the weakest of the five, turned pale under the pressure. Seeing this, Lin Jingjing discreetly extended a sliver of her spiritual power to shield him.

This way, his discomfort would be lessened.

Meanwhile, after spotting the person standing not far away, Captain Li glanced at the five behind him out of the corner of his eye.

Among them, Shi Feng was the palest. Besides Lin Jingjing, the other three weren’t faring well either, but they were managing to endure.

Captain Li turned to block the five from view, a polite smile fixed on his face. Lin Jingjing, however, stepped up to stand right beside him, her own gaze falling upon the approaching entourage.

"May Your Majesty be in good health," Captain Li said to Yun Yiyou, who was a short distance away, executing a perfect knight’s salute. Lin Jingjing, meanwhile, gave a standard military salute and shouted, "May you all be in good health!"

Captain Li heard her and was momentarily speechless. ’Why is she copying me and shouting something like that?’

Before he could recover from his speechlessness, the four behind him also shouted in unison, "May you all be in good health!"

Hearing this, the corner of Yun Yiyou’s mouth twitched into a small smile. ’The soldiers his captain trained are quite amusing.’

"Mm," Yun Yiyou responded, maintaining his cool and aloof demeanor before walking away.

As soon as they left, the pressure vanished, and Shi Feng finally felt like he could breathe again.

"You’ve got to be kidding me. Is the King’s spiritual power really that high?" Shi Feng leaned against Gu Kaiwen, his face so pale he looked as if he were seriously injured.

After the large entourage had left, Captain Li’s ramrod-straight spine instantly slumped. He raised a hand to wipe the fine beads of sweat from his forehead. "The King’s spiritual power... I hear it’s already surpassed 3S."

Hearing that it had surpassed 3S, the group’s eyes went wide. They stared at Captain Li in disbelief.

"Really?" Gu Kaiwen was stunned. ’If he’s surpassed that, then he’s at the 4S level.’

’So strong!’

He immediately turned to Lin Jingjing, his eyes filled with excitement and fervor. "Sister Lin, you could reach that level too, right?"

An awkward silence fell over the group. Lin Jingjing, in particular, was so embarrassed she didn’t know what to do.

She fidgeted, touching this and that, but refused to answer the question.

But Gu Kaiwen just kept staring at her with sparkling eyes, full of expectation that Lin Jingjing would agree.

Captain Li let out a snort of laughter. He clapped Gu Kaiwen on the shoulder and said, "It’s a nice thought, but reaching the King’s level isn’t something we can just aspire to."

"How about setting a small goal first? Work hard to reach 3S, and then you can think about catching up to the King."

But Gu Kaiwen had absolute faith in Lin Jingjing. Hearing Captain Li, he immediately retorted, "3S is nothing! I know Sister Lin can do it."

Lin Jingjing clapped a hand over Gu Kaiwen’s mouth, forcing a smile as she said to Captain Li, "Don’t listen to him. I’ll be more than happy if I can just reach 3S Spiritual Power."

With his mouth firmly covered, Gu Kaiwen’s eyes darted back and forth as he made muffled, protesting sounds.

Captain Li roared with laughter. "It’s good to have a goal. Keep up the hard work."
