Chapter 342 Narrow Road Encounter
The entry point chosen by the two elders of the Belizi family was naturally not a perilous place, but influenced by the battle of Solomon and another, the surrounding environment began to change and was no longer suitable for a prolonged stay.
“Do not hold back when you encounter those people. This is not a place to consider familial ties. I’ll back you up if anything happens,” Solomon whispered as he led the group away.
Since entering the Nine-Colored Pit, his attitude had clearly changed, and the other three from the Belizi family felt the same.
“Understood.”
Ivan and Doug said nothing, silently following not far behind him.
At this moment, Ivan felt more certain of his guess—indeed, the real relationships among the four were as incompatible as fire and water.
He also thought that the so-called Frostflame Flower must be no ordinary thing but simply named that simplistically by the Belizi family, possibly existing in only one or two blossoms.
He could imagine that the competition for it would likely be fierce.
The area around them was entirely composed of scorched earth. The group stepped on it, occasionally kicking up sparks. Had their clothing not been of high quality, they would probably have caught fire already.
“You must have sensed it by now. Inside the Nine-Colored Pit, remember not to fly high unless necessary,” Solomon added after a pause.
Above the pit was a chaotic yet massive storm of element energy which, after a long period of transformation, had turned into a structured, twisting forcefield. Recklessly flying up could be dangerous, possibly tearing one apart by the forcefield.
The ground, in contrast, was much more stable.
Ivan, noticing this, had already jumped down from the back of the swamp ant and began walking on the scorched earth on his own.
“Solomon, are you sure the Frostflame Flower is in this direction?”
“Not very sure.”
Hearing Solomon’s answer, the others couldn’t help but look at him with surprise.
If you aren’t sure, why keep heading this way?
“You should be aware of the origin of the Nine-Colored Pit, shaped by the echoes of battle. The residual waves from the battles are unpredictable—the flames fall to the ground and become a Fire Domain, the frost falls and becomes a Frost Domain, the thunder falls and becomes a Thunder Domain—
Right beneath our feet is a Fire Domain, and ahead there lies a Frost Domain. Where these two domains meet, there might be a chance for the Frostflame Flower to emerge. We need to try our luck there.”
Solomon earnestly explained the reason behind their direction.
Only then did the others realize that the Belizi family also did not know the exact location of the Frostflame Flower. Apparently, they had used some Secret Technique to determine its potential birth here, sensing that it would mature soon, and thus sent family disciples to harvest it.
The group continued to advance, although they chose the same direction, their paths and encounters varied.
“Boom-boom-boom—-“
Ivan and his companions moved slowly, dealing with many flame element creatures that suddenly appeared along the way.
At last, they encountered an obstruction.
In a deep chasm ahead, the ground suddenly flipped open, revealing pools of molten lava. From the lava, hot bubbles emerged, and as they rose, they quickly gathered, forming something.
“Let’s not make any rash moves.”
Seeing the two look towards him, Solomon slightly shook his head.
Even though these creatures blocked their path, he neither planned to detour nor to strike first. This situation provided a good opportunity to observe the changes in the Nine-Colored Pit and possibly gain something from it.
In less than half a minute, the hot bubbles combined with a few strands of flames and formed a group of peculiar element creatures.
These element creatures had humanoid shapes, but each part was made from bubbles of different sizes, with strands of flames dancing within and patterns of flames on their exteriors. Their facial features were also formed from fire.
“What category of element creature is this?”
“Never seen it before.”
The three Level 2 Sorcerers had not recognized it, let alone others, so they could only consider it a ‘specialty’ of the Nine-Colored Pit.
Kang Mang stepped forward, volunteering to engage in battle.
As a Shadow Tigon with the lineage of ‘Child of Shadow,’ he summoned numerous shadow energy balls with a wave of his hand, aiming them evenly and precisely at the ‘bubble people.’
The bubble people, of course, did not sit idle, blowing out hot, fiery breaths in response.
The fiery breaths carried essences of fire.
Shadow balls collided with the airwaves.
They confronted each other in pairs.
The airwaves were dispersed by the shadow energy.
The shadow balls then struck the bubble people in the rear, destroying half of their bodies.
In front of Kang Mang, stationed at the peak of Level 3, the strength of these bubble people was clearly inadequate.
Yet, the matter was far from over.
Below, the magma springs bubbled more rapidly and abundantly, enveloping the shattered bodies. In the blink of an eye, the bubble people revived, their heights increasing from just over two meters to more than three meters, and their physiques became much more robust.
“Undying?” Doug furrowed his brows slightly.
“I’ll join, too,” Locke glanced at Ivan, and seeing no objection from him, he stepped forward and stood not far from Kang Mang.
As Kang Mang launched another attack, Locke swung his scimitar forward, a large number of palm-sized Spatial Blades formed and flew with the shadow balls toward the bubble people blocking their path.
To the left was the substantial shadow balls; to the right were the sharp Spatial Blades.
The bubble people repeated their trick, their mouths blowing out hotter, flame-imbued airwaves that almost overturned the shadow balls and Spatial Blades during the collision.
Ultimately, Kang Mang and Locke’s tactics proved to be superior.
The two didn’t relent when they gained an advantage, launching another wave of attacks that completely shredded the bubble people.
“Heh, boss, not bad with my technique, eh?” Locke communicated telepathically.
“There’s improvement, but not much.”
The Spatial Blade was just the first stage of spatial cutting. Clearly, Locke was still a novice, not even proficient with the Spatial Blade.
Honestly, it was a bit of a waste of his spatial affinity talent.
Thankfully, he was indeed improving.
Hearing Ivan’s assessment, Locke sheepishly grinned.
While the two communicated telepathically, the scene of bubbling magma springs could only be described as ‘scrambling to the front’, with numerous bubbles rising and obscuring the entire trench.
It was foreseeable that more bubble people would form.
“Something’s not right; let’s go around,” Ivan said, his gaze intensively focused on the lower parts of the magma springs.
“Go around?”
“Yes, take a detour!”
“Uh—okay.” Seeing his solemn expression, Solomon hesitated briefly, then decisively chose to trust his judgment, though he hadn’t sensed anything himself.
The group turned and walked away.
This action seemed to trigger something, and instantly, the ground behind them began to tremble violently, the ground itself being lifted; an enormous bubble harshly burst out, containing a vast amount of fiery essence. Find more chapters on My Virtual Library Empire
The moment the large bubble emerged, even the cliff walls on both sides of the trench were crushed and destroyed.
Moreover, the large bubble was still expanding.
“Run quickly!”
Seeing this scene, the people wiped a metaphorical sweat from their brows.
They had been facing what seemed like easily defeatable bubble people, but in an instant, it had turned into this chaos, typical of a chaotic rules environment. It was a good thing they hadn’t plunged headlong into it, otherwise, a tough fight would have awaited them.
Of course, they owed it to Ivan’s timely warning.
Actually, Ivan himself hadn’t sensed anything, it was Janie who had murmurred ‘Something’s off’ by his ear that made him strongly suggest taking a detour.
The individuals packed up their previous carelessness and moved away from the trench at top speed.
At that moment, a loud boom sounded from behind—the large bubble burst open.
A giant bubble person appeared amidst the smoke and dust, towering over a hundred meters tall. Its head directly reached into the rainbow lights above, and as it roared in all directions, it pursued the fleeing group with heavy, wide steps, each step creating a sound of an explosion.
