Sorcerer: I want to be an Academic Prodigy

Chapter 335 Lethal Power

“Locke’s intelligence was accurate; these sorcerers had recently been stripped of a great deal of lifeforce and strength, they appeared much weaker than a normal sorcerer,”

Outside the Black Mist Rift Valley, Ivan had to face a large number of enemies, bearing immense pressure.

He, along with the swamp ant and the Scented Butterfly, took the empty moat as a bastion, putting up a tenacious resistance against the primary forces of the Black God Society, embodying the spirit of ‘one man holding the pass and ten thousand unable to break through.’

But Ivan knew that there were more than just one Level 3 Sorcerer among the enemy, and there were other exits beneath; such a circumstance could not last long.

“Magician Muri, why don’t you take some people around to the exit? Then we can coordinate our efforts from inside and outside, and take out these madmen in one fell swoop.”

They were actually being suppressed under the passageway; Sandro and the others undoubtedly felt extremely frustrated.

What was even more exasperating was the fact that on the other side there was only one Level 2 Sorcerer, accompanied by two Level 3 creatures; this small setup managed to unsettle the Black God Society members, trapping them with no way out—-

At this moment, the pride and arrogance of the Level 3 Sorcerers were shattered to pieces.

“There’s no need for that; I have a way,” Muri thought, seeing it as even more humiliating to make a detour. “Since the enemy is just a meager Level 2 Sorcerer, why don’t we three lead the charge, the others following behind? With the immense power we’ve gathered, we can break out directly.”

“Alright, we’ll do as you say,” decided Sandro upon reflection.

“I second the motion.”

Regardless of how they had achieved their status, the dignity of Level 3 Sorcerers could not be trampled upon. In their frustration and raging anger, the three chose to break the deadlock with force, intending to crush their way out with an imposing stance.

Inside the empty moat, numerous Space Silks continued to dance around, deterring anyone from entering lightly.

However, Muri and the others, armed with high-level magical shields, chose to go against the tide.

Level 3 Sorcerers were indeed worthy of their title; under their coordinated efforts, the hitherto unstoppable Space Silks could no longer perform effectively and could only watch as Muri and his companions dismantled the dangers, advancing up step by step.

“Jenny is coming through the passageway.”

“Let’s play a big one before she gets close.”

The situation was obviously not in Ivan’s favor, and he also sensed that Jenny was already on the run; it was time for a decisive move. Otherwise, he feared that Jenny would be caught between two fronts, and he wouldn’t be able to get Randall out.

After all, Randall’s safety was of utmost importance.

Having made up his mind, Ivan controlled two strands of Space Silk to directly penetrate into the depths of the rocks on both sides, connecting to the Chaos Orbs he had buried there beforehand.

The Chaos Orbs were activated.

A terrifying presence began to spread through the air.

“Retreat!”

Ivan didn’t even look at the result, signaling the swamp ant and the Scented Butterfly to withdraw quickly, leaving only a few silhouettes behind.

Seeing this, a gleam appeared in Muri and his companions’ eyes.

“No good, retreat fast!”

Before they could rejoice for half a second, a terrifying presence emerged from the front side that was unbearable, scaring Muri and the others into hastily reminding each other aloud as they turned and fell back.

In a moment, the strands of Space Silk at both sides were chaotically stirred, unleashing disorder that started small but rapidly grew, eventually erupting into a terrifying spatial turbulence.

The spatial turbulence exploded within the empty moat.

With its limited space, Muri and others gave a timely warning, but the members of the Black God Society couldn’t get away fast enough, finding themselves exposed to the merciless spatial turbulence.

Invisible blades rampaged, cries of agony rose, and the earth around them similarly suffered.

The space bead exploded, and chaos reigned there.

“How terrifying the space turbulence is.”

Ivan and his group retreated timely. By the time they reached a safe spot to observe, the chaos had not subsided. Scented Butterfly, looking down from her vantage point, couldn’t help but exclaim.

“It’s far from over, this is just a small instance of space turbulence, which only appears so formidable due to the narrow terrain. If you encounter a large-scale space turbulence, everything would be sucked into it with nowhere to escape.”

Ivan shook his head slightly. Compared to the turbulence that could obliterate towers, this was just a minor incident.

However, even this minor space turbulence, influenced by the clash of two currents, had drastically altered the landscape below, expanding the hollow’s width several fold and adding many deep fissures around it, extending in all directions.

As for the casualties, the Black God Society had suffered heavy losses. Even a Level 3 Sorcerer like Muri was injured, some more, some less.

“Swamp ant, go there and support Zhan Ni.”

“Scented Butterfly—everyone split up!”

A pair of Combat Energy wings burst out behind Ivan. After pointing to a spot on the ground to direct Swamp Ant, as he was about to instruct Scented Butterfly, he sensed an extremely unusual disturbance below—it had locked onto him tightly.

“Szzz!”

In that second, it seemed as if the only thing left in the world was an insect’s buzz.

Something below had been thoroughly enraged by Ivan. The black mist was exceptionally dark at the moment; if someone were to get closer, they’d see an innumerable quantity of minuscule insects, complete with black antennae and tentacles.

The swarm, influenced by some force, was compressed to a single point.

Through this compression and distortion, what appeared to be an ordinary but in fact terrible black insect antennae formed. Accompanied by a “szzz”, the antennae stretched out rapidly, targeting Ivan’s position, its speed so fast it seemed to leap through layers of space.

Ivan’s complexion drastically changed. His intuition told him that this power touched upon and perhaps even exceeded Level 4.

There was no doubt that it was a lethal force, one that homed in on him through the essence of the Black Beard Chapter, leaving him no chance to escape.

At this critical moment, he halted his movement, flipping a Mystical Black Long-handled Scythe in his hand. His power poured into the scythe like a flood, sparing little.

“Break for me!”

Facing the approaching black antennae, Ivan raised the Mystical Black Long-handled Scythe and slashed down with precision.

The scythe gleamed with a ghostly light, the prideful domain power of the Black Scythe Lord—the Hundred-Shape Black Poison, also an infamous ancient terror.

Sensing something, the Mystical Black Long-handled Scythe even intensified certain parts of its blade light of its own accord.

When the two powers clashed, even though neither was at a tenth of its peak, the impact was immense and profound, vacuuming the surroundings clean like a street sweeper.

Ivan bore the brunt of it. He was knocked away by the shockwave.

As he was sent flying, he noted that the Hundred-Shape Black Poison, catching the black antennae off guard, had gained the upper hand. The blade’s light sliced all the way down to the bottom of the hollow, causing the black antennae to disintegrate.

‘No wonder the Black Scythe Lord, once a sovereign ruler in ancient times, could easily suppress the powerhouses of an alien world.’

‘I wonder how Zhan Ni is doing? With her power, she should be able to safely evacuate the guide.’

At this point, Ivan was still unable to control his own body for two reasons: one was the excessive force he used earlier, and the other was the terrifying shockwaves produced by the clash of domain powers.

Meanwhile, both Swamp Ant and Scented Butterfly had not managed to avoid it and were dispersed in various directions.

Amidst the aftermath, the Black Mist Rift Valley below was severely damaged, and the people of the Black God Society were further devastated, with deaths beyond count.

After the shockwaves had subsided, Zhan Ni emerged with nimble steps from the widened gap. She skimmed over where the hollow once lay, escorting Randall, following the direction in which Ivan was flung.
