Sorcerer: I want to be an Academic Prodigy

Chapter 309 The Incident Afar

“It wasn’t just an illusion!”

“This is—truly shocking.”

On the third floor of Rapid Wood Tower, Ivan was inwardly clicking his tongue in amazement.

With further testing, he found that the mysterious force had truly reshaped his foundation, changing his sorcerer talent from 3rd Class talent to 4th Class talent.

His original elemental affinity was to wood, fire, and water; now it had transformed to include earth, making it wood, earth, fire, and water-type affinity.

This forcible insertion of an elemental affinity was undoubtedly heart-stirring.

It made him realize that the fallen creature was definitely one of the native powerhouses of the Danaila World, whose strength was beyond merely Level 4—perhaps it was a being that had left a resounding name in the history of Danaila.

And it was a female powerhouse.

“Dwelling on it is pointless, dwelling on it is pointless.”

Ivan knew himself well; such a being was miles away from his reach, and overthinking would only add to his troubles.

Without needing to identify, he knew that his second manifestation had boundless potential. With this, his Secret Technique “One Body Three Manifestations” was initially accomplished.

“Jenny, I forgot to ask you, as a Level 3 creature, what abilities do you have?” Ivan turned and asked.

“The power of the earth,” Jenny replied, curiously gazing out of the high tower’s window at the scenery outside.

“Anything else?” Ivan asked further.

“Just this one, no others,” Jenny shook her head.

Hearing her words, Ivan’s first reaction was disbelief. Being a Level 3 creature, just like the Silkworm Queen and the swamp ant, they typically possessed at least three abilities.

Under his guidance, Jenny briefly demonstrated the power of the earth.

It was then that Ivan realized that Jenny’s earth power encompassed gravity manipulation, crushing, armor-breaking, earth’s load-bearing, earth controlling, and moving a hundred meters in one step—it was all-encompassing.

It almost made his jaw drop.

Of course, there were also downsides; the ability had a clear upper limit.

Even so, Jenny’s ability far surpassed the swamp ant’s Boulder-Marsh Control and Gravity Manipulation; it didn’t appear to be an ability of a comparable grade.

“One ability is pretty good, too.”

Subsequently, Ivan transferred more knowledge to her, helping her further understand everything around her.

As a Level 3 creature, Jenny naturally had superior learning and bearing capacities than ordinary creatures. Her understanding stepped up, quickly coming to terms with the East Capital, Rapid Wood Tower, the Enchanters Guild, and more.

“Sorcerer Ivan, may we come in?”

“Come in.”

Hearing the voice inside, Locke cautiously entered the room with the Silkworm Queen, immediately noticing the unfamiliar figure.

Who is this?

How did she sneak in?

“She is Jenny; she’s like you. Remember to take her to register,” Ivan introduced without waiting for him to ask.

“I see, no wonder it felt so strange,” Locke realized, his eyes widening in shock at Jenny’s gender.

“Hmph!” Seeing him staring rudely, Jenny scoffed, the sound exploding in his ears like a sonic boom.

This strength, it doesn’t seem like that of a newcomer at all?

Locke, normally grinning and joking, now had a particularly grave expression. As the first manifestation under the boss’s wing and someone who had arrived earlier, he couldn’t let a newcomer trample over him.

“You’re called ‘Locke’?” Jenny stared back at him just as sternly.

“That’s me. What brings this newcomer here?” Locke stepped forward, puffing out his chest, with the Silkworm Queen closely following behind as if to back him up.

“Lead the way to the test site, we need to have a talk,” Jenny looked at Ivan, pausing after each word.

“I’m not afraid of you.”

“And your Silkworm Queen, as well as the swamp ants outside, we need to get to know each other better.”

“Arrogant! Just wait, I’ll show you who was here first.”

Seeing that Ivan made no move to stop them, Jenny and Locke left the room, calling the swamp ants en route to the test site.

Only Ivan was left in the room.

“One Locke, one Jenny, their personalities are far from mine, heavily influenced by other factors, none of them are easy to manage,” he shook his head helplessly.

He was all too aware of their strengths; in terms of innate power, Jenny had surpassed them lately, her presence undoubtedly the most robust.

Influenced by that mysterious force, Jenny seemed naturally gifted in combat, also possessing remarkable fighting prowess.

According to his judgment, Locke and company would likely be defeated.

Regarding Locke’s competition, he wouldn’t interfere; in fact, he took pleasure in it. If it stirred Locke’s ambition, making him more composed, that would be perfect.

[Enchantment Skill: lv11 (164/8500)]

[Runes Skill: lv10 (88/7000)]

[Biology Expertise: lv8 (19/4000)]

Ivan’s attention shifted to the Academic Prodigy panel; recently, his Enchantment Skill had advanced to level 11, becoming the first 11th level subject.

Runes Skill had risen to a 10th level subject.

Just now, Biology Expertise had advanced a level, becoming an 8th level subject.

From the panel, it was visible that he still had three Lights of Wisdom and four Lights of Great Wisdom; his reserves were still ample.

Half an hour later, the group that had gone to the test site returned.

“I was here first, clearly I was the first—” Locke walked behind, mumbling to himself, and the Silkworm Queen also seemed downcast, unsure how to comfort Locke.

It was evident that Locke and the Silkworm Queen took a heavy blow, especially the former, who appeared as if he had fallen from the heavens into dust, utterly disheveled.

“I won.” Ivan didn’t engage him, casually inquiring of Jenny.

“Yeah, they can’t take a beating,” Jenny said, nonchalantly.

“Your speed matched up to Locke’s?”

“Of course.”

Ivan didn’t know what to say; Locke was thoroughly outclassed, no wonder he looked so lifeless. He was curious to see how Locke would maintain his usual carefree demeanor after this.

Hearing this, Locke’s head hung even lower.

Over the next three or four days, Locke quickly recovered from his defeat, indeed becoming more diligent. It seemed he was gathering strength to redeem his earlier disgrace.

One day, the swamp ant reported an alarming piece of news to Ivan.

“Sorcerer Ivan, there’s an urgent situation to report.”

“Come in and speak.”

“I had left a team of ant sentinels guarding the Dodd magic stone mine. I just sensed that they have all been wiped out,” the swamp ant swiftly reported.

It didn’t seem particularly sad; the ant sentinels were merely creations based on its abilities, not actual tribe members.

“Were they annihilated all at the same time?” Ivan frowned slightly.

“It’s hard to tell, the distance is too great,” the swamp ant didn’t dare hide anything, honestly sharing its feelings.

“Alright, prepare to go to Dodd to retaliate against the evildoers.” Ivan didn’t seem overly concerned; there were plenty of magic stones left in the Dodd magic stone mine, and the mine itself was of great value. He couldn’t simply ignore it.

He wanted to see who had managed to evade the Fourth Legion’s soldiers and infiltrate the Dodd magic stone mine, causing havoc inside.
