Chapter 215: No Way I'm Betraying My Brothers!

The middle-aged man stared at the shop assistant, who had been killed with a single palm strike, then combined that with the other party's words. His expression immediately turned extremely ugly.

They had come for the thousand-year Fire Ginseng, which meant they were undoubtedly powerful figures in the martial world.

They were most likely experts from the Black List—only this group of lawless bastards would dare to harm innocents in broad daylight.

"Master, my father hasn't managed the Chen Family Medicinal Shop for years now. Please, Master, show mercy..."

The middle-aged man cupped his hands and bowed.

The other party sneered coldly. "Who do you think we are? We're just having a meal at your Chen establishment. Are you saying we're about to do something to your Chen family?"

The middle-aged man quickly stammered, "It was my misunderstanding."

"By the way, who are you, kid?"

The man looked at Yang Ling, sizing him up from head to toe.

The middle-aged man hastily said, "Master, he has nothing to do with this. He's just a customer."

"Nothing to do with it? Oh, it has everything to do with it. You're definitely going to report us to the authorities, aren't you?"

The man let out a sinister laugh and slowly walked toward Yang Ling.

Yang Ling casually rolled up his sleeve, revealing the Ironclad Department armor he wore underneath: "I am the authorities."

The man stopped in his tracks, a flicker of surprise flashing in his eyes.

He immediately recognized the armor on the other party—it was definitely Ironclad Department gear.

But the design was completely different from the Ninth-Rank and Eighth-Rank Ironclad Armors he had seen before!

The middle-aged man was slightly shocked, then burst into ecstasy.

So this person before him was actually an agent of the Ironclad Department!

"Ironclad Department, huh."

The man squinted his eyes. "You bastards have sharp noses, sniffing us out like dogs?"

"Wei Chihu, Black List wanted fugitive, bounty as high as three thousand taels."

Yang Ling grinned. "I'm not wrong, am I? Though the bounty is a bit low—you're at least Lower Eighth-Rank strength, so I think offering three thousand one hundred taels wouldn't be unreasonable."

Wei Chihu finally confirmed that the other party had tracked them by scent. Worried there might be an ambush outside, he struck first without hesitation.

His movements were lightning fast, charging at Yang Ling like a ferocious tiger.

In the middle-aged man's eyes, the whole process happened in an instant.

But the next second, Yang Ling rose, grabbed Wei Chihu's arm, and punched him three times in the gut.

His strength was perfectly controlled.

The blows sent Wei Chihu flying into the air, but with his arm held by Yang Ling, he didn't soar too high—at least he didn't crash through the ceiling.

Bam!

Wei Chihu hit the ground hard, feeling his insides churn violently as blood gushed from his mouth.

Yang Ling sat back down, keeping one hand on Wei Chihu's arm while planting a foot on the man's head. "Wei Chihu, how many of you came this time? Who's your so-called boss, and what rank is he?"

Wei Chihu slowly came to his senses and snarled, "You son of a bitch, no way I'm betraying my brothers!"

Seeing this, Yang Ling casually raised his hand.

Wei Chihu's arm immediately bent backward at a ninety-degree angle!

The excruciating pain forced an involuntary blood-curdling scream from his throat.

But before the scream could fully escape, Yang Ling kicked it back in.

Wei Chihu's mouth instantly swelled, and blood sprayed from his nostrils.

With a waugh, he spat out a mouthful of shattered teeth.

The broken teeth, mixed with blood, filled the inner room with a faint metallic, rusty smell.

The middle-aged man stood frozen beside them, stunned, as if he had never witnessed such a scene before.

"You don't want to betray your brothers? Fine, I'll grant your wish. Your bounty only requires a head anyway—dead or alive, same price."

Yang Ling chuckled softly, then drew the Seventh-Rank Official Saber from his waist.

Wei Chihu was terrified. How could this Ironclad Department agent not follow the script!

Dead or alive, the price could never be the same!

If he was alive, the other party could claim a greater merit!

"Wait! I'll talk, I'll tell you everything!"

Wei Chihu shouted frantically.

"I don't want to hear it anymore."

A flash of cold steel descended, and Wei Chihu's head was lifted by Yang Ling, who casually placed it on the nearby tea table.

Yang Ling meticulously wiped the Seventh-Rank Official Saber clean with Wei Chihu's clothes, not stopping until there was no trace of blood, then sheathed the blade.

Chen Qizheng silently watched this scene, his eyes filled with awe. Gathering his courage, he cautiously said, "Sir, there are still others from their group in the Chen residence. Please, Sir, lend us your aid."

"Young Master Chen, isn't this exactly what my Ironclad Department is supposed to do?"

Yang Ling stood up. "Lead the way."

...

At the Chen family estate, the guards had already been slaughtered.

A servant stood in terror, continuously pouring tea and wine for a scholar.

The old master of the Chen Family Medicinal Shop sat in a grand armchair, surrounded by the Chen family's descendants—more than twenty men and women.

Their eyes were filled with terror and despair.

At that moment, across from the scholar sat a woman eating with savage abandon.

She had one foot planted on the back of a middle-aged woman while tearing off large chunks of lamb to wash down with wine.

"Your husband still isn't back yet? Is he willing to abandon his entire family for the sake of a thousand-year Fire Ginseng?"

The woman took a drink of wine and laughed abruptly.

The middle-aged woman beneath her foot was filled with humiliation, tears streaming down her face, yet she dared not utter a sound.

"I'm so goddamn unlucky," the servant behind the scholar thought bitterly. "Other people play games and charge ahead triumphantly, grabbing all kinds of opportunities. But me? I come to the Chen family to be an NPC's servant, just for a meal, and I still run into this kind of terrifying plot. These two bastards killed all the Chen family's hired guards in less than five minutes, claiming to be experts from the Black List."

Clutching the wine jug, he stared at the scene before him, silently lamenting his luck.

"Pour the wine."

The scholar suddenly spoke.

The servant shuddered, hurriedly stepping forward to pour.

Because he was so nervous, he spilled some wine on the table, wetting the scholar's sleeve.

Seeing this, the servant felt like his soul was about to fly out of his body, cold sweat dripping from his forehead.

The scholar was silent for a few breaths, then smiled faintly. "Don't be afraid. It's just a bit of spilled wine. Just don't make this mistake in your next life."

"You son of a bitch! I spill a little wine, and you want to kill me?!"

The servant reacted instantly, smashing the wine jug onto the scholar's head before turning and bolting.

This scene stunned everyone in the Chen family.

Even the old master's eyes showed a flicker of astonishment.

Since when did their household have a servant with this kind of nerve!?

The scholar's face darkened, and he was about to strike when two figures walked in through the door.

The fleeing servant crashed head-on into Chen Qizheng and tumbled to the ground.

His face turned ashen, knowing he couldn't escape, he decided to just abandon all pretense, turning back to curse the scholar.

But the scholar paid him no attention, his eyes fixed sharply on Chen Qizheng.

The woman sitting across from him also set down her lamb, squinting with a faint, knowing smile.

Chen Qizheng saw the scene in the hall—especially his wife being trampled and humiliated beneath the woman's foot. His face flushed red with rage, and his fists clenched tightly.

Yang Ling glanced at the servant, his eyes flickering with curiosity. He opened the man's Status Panel and looked it over, a strange expression crossing his face.

"Wei Ran, what are you doing here?"

"Who?!"

Wei Ran looked up, and upon seeing Yang Ling, first showed surprise, then rubbed his eyes before gasping sharply in disbelief. "Boss, is that you!?"

"Get up first. Stand behind me."

Yang Ling grabbed Wei Ran and pulled him to stand behind himself.

The scholar and the woman now sensed something was wrong.

Where was their third brother?

The scholar squinted, finally beginning to scrutinize Yang Ling. "Who are you? Where is my third brother, Wei Chihu, right now?"
