Vol 2. Chapter 77: Welcome to the Kindergarten of Destruction! (77)
<Motri>
Flash!
Iona, Queng, Kkamang, and Taecho arrived in <Motri>, following Sejun and Theo.
But—
Queng!
[Dad’s not nearby da-yo!]
Sejun was nowhere to be seen.
“Kkyu— Looks like there was some spatial distortion. Let me cast the spell again! Power of space…”
As Iona began to cast her teleportation magic—
“How dare you trespass into the royal palace of the Smong Kingdom without fear?!”
“Who are you?! Identify yourselves!”
“An intruder!”
Thousands of monkeys with angelic white wings rose into the sky, surrounding the group.
Queng!
[If you get in the way of finding Dad, Queng will punish you da-yo!]
Crack!
Queng, furious at being blocked from reaching Sejun, began to grow.
In a flash, Queng grew to over 50 meters tall—larger than the palace itself—
Boom!
—and devastated the Smong Kingdom’s palace and its surroundings, capturing the king in the process.
Then—
Kihihit. Kking!
[Heheh. The Great Kkamang shall now administer re-education!]
Bonk!
Kkamang ran up Queng’s arm and delivered a headbutt to the Smong King.
Moments later—
Kihihit.
The butler will love this, right?
Back in reality, Kkamang pulled out a blank sheet from his bag.
Kking!
[Stamp it here!]
“Y-Yes…”
Thump.
They made the Smong King place his royal seal on the blank contract.
“Kkamang oppa! Taecho wants one too!”
Taecho held out her blank contract, imitating Kkamang.
Kking!
[Stamp here too!]
Wanting to look cool, Kkamang helped Taecho get a stamp on hers as well.
Kking?
[By the way, what’s your name?]
“M-Monkey W. Sky the Third.”
The name was quite long.
“Monkey… what came after that?”
Taecho, scribbling the name awkwardly on the blank contract, asked again.
“W. Sky the Third.”
“W… and then?”
“Sky the Third…”
“Sky the Third… Heheh, all done!”
Only after repeating it multiple times did Taecho manage to write the Smong King’s full name.
Kihihit. Kking!
[Heheh. Youngest! Write it on the Great Kkamang’s contract too!]
“Okay!”
Taecho also wrote the name on Kkamang’s contract.
Thus, Kkamang and Taecho now had two blank contracts bearing the Smong Kingdom’s royal seal and the king’s full name.
“Kkyut-kkyut-kkyut. Time to teleport again!”
Having completed her spell, Iona cast the teleportation magic, and Iona, Queng, Kkamang, and ➤ NоvеⅠight ➤ (Read more on our source) Taecho vanished.
“Hahaha… how fleeting it all is…”
Monkey W. Sky III let out a hollow laugh—he had lost everything in mere moments.
***
Resistance Hideout.
After Theo’s refusal of Kkokkokko’s offer, relations with the Resistance grew awkward. Sejun sat in a corner, hugging a pot full of steamed corn.
“But where are the others…”
“Puhuhut. I think they’ve arrived nya!”
“Huh? Yeah… but why does it feel so far away?”
Sejun sensed Queng’s signal from a distance via the Queng Detector just as—
“Someone’s coming.”
A rabbit guarding one of the hideout’s entrances quietly alerted the others.
“……”
“……”
“……”
Everyone held their breath. Sejun and Theo shut their mouths as well.
About five minutes passed like that—
Knock knock. Tok-tok-tok.
Someone tapped the door rhythmically.
Tok. Tok-tok-tok. Tok. Tok.
The rabbit responded with its own tapping pattern.
After a few back-and-forth knocks—
“It’s Obarun.”
Click.
The rabbit verified the visitor’s identity and opened the door.
“Greetings, Kkokkokko-nim.”
A wolf named Obarun entered with a raccoon and a quokka. They were former slaves who regularly met with the Resistance to share information about the Winged Monkeys.
“Good to see you, Obarun. But this isn’t our scheduled meeting. What brings you here?”
“There’s urgent news. Kkokkokko-nim, something’s wrong with the Winged Monkeys.”
“Wrong?”
“Yes. All troops except those watching the slaves have suddenly withdrawn to the capital. Now’s our chance to win!”
“Kkokkokko-nim, this is our opportunity!”
“Yes! Let’s attack now!”
The lion and bear began grabbing weapons.
“Shouldn’t we gather more intel before moving?”
The rabbit raised a cautious voice.
Then—
Flash!
“Puhuhut. Iona, you’re here nya?!”
“Kkyut-kkyut-kkyut. Vice Chairman Theo!”
Queng!
[Dad da-yo!]
Kking!
[Butler!]
“Daddy!”
Iona, Queng, Kkamang, and Taecho appeared before Sejun and Theo.
“What took you so long?”
Worried something had happened, Sejun looked everyone over and asked.
“Kkyut-kkyut-kkyut. The coordinates got scrambled due to dimensional distortion… and then we got tangled up in some annoying stuff.”
Kuhehehe. Queng!
[Heheh. Queng got big and solved the annoying stuff da-yo!]
“Well done.”
When Sejun patted Queng’s head—
Kihihit. Kking!
[Heheh! Butler! The Great Kkamang got a stamp!]
“Heheh! Taecho got one too!”
Kkamang and Taecho proudly held out their stamped blank contracts.
“Good job, both of you.”
Sejun didn’t recognize the royal seal of the Winged Monkey Kingdom on the papers, but praised them anyway—lest their feelings be hurt.
Meanwhile…
Haseuchunbeon… Yanmongnyeonyeong… Nalwangmanha… Gaeguknyeonra…
Taecho inspected the seal to identify who the subordinate was.
—All assets, citizens, and slaves of the Smong Kingdom shall be transferred under Sejun Company…
She filled in the blank contracts.
Moments later—
Thump.
Theo stamped Sejun’s thumb on the contract’s “Principal” section.
“Puhuhut. The Smong Kingdom now belongs forever to Sejun Company nya!”
With that, the merger was finalized.
Unbeknownst to the Resistance, the Winged Monkey Kingdom was now forcibly absorbed into Sejun Company—and therefore stood opposed to Sejun.
[Congratulations!]
[The Smong Kingdom has been merged into Sejun Company. You are now a Regular Employee of Sejun Company.]
[You are now Regular Employee #10,781,239F of Sejun Company.]
[All stats have increased by 5 due to job traits.]
…
..
.
A message appeared before Obarun, former slave of the Smong Kingdom.
And then—
“The Smong Kingdom got merged?!”
“Huh?! We get paid?! And there are benefits?!”
“You only work five days a week, and weekend work pays double?!”
Obarun, the raccoon, and the quokka exclaimed as they read the messages.
Hmph. Our Sejun Company treats its employees well.
Proudly observing their reactions, Sejun’s lips curled into a smug smile.
Flash!
Theo was waiting for just that moment to leap.
Heheh.
Kkamang, too, waited for Theo’s pounce.
But—
Not this time!
Sejun barely managed to dodge and protect his face.
“Obarun, what are you talking about?”
“Yeah. What’s this about a merger, a five-day work week, and double pay on weekends?”
Kkokkokko and the other Resistance members asked Obarun for an explanation.
“Well… the Smong Kingdom was…”
Obarun told them everything he had read in the message.
“And is that really something to celebrate? Isn’t it just a change in masters?”
Kkokkokko asked stiffly.
“No! Sejun Company is different! There’s this internal employee network where regular employees can talk to each other, and based on what I heard…”
Obarun explained everything he’d learned by communicating with employees from the Nine Towers.
Normally, they wouldn’t have been connected—but [System SJC] had temporarily linked the networks to build trust.
Thanks to that, the newly registered employees quickly learned what Sejun Company was, its scale, how employees were treated, who the Chairman and Vice Chairman were, and about the Sejun Family.
As Obarun tried to convince the Resistance that Sejun Company was truly good—
“Puhuhut. That’s right nya! The Great Hybrid Chairman Park of Sejun Company is amazing nya! And I, Vice Chairman Theo, am amazing too nya!”
Theo shouted proudly.
Queng!
[As Security Director of Sejun Company and Dad’s son, Queng is amazing too da-yo!]
Kihihit. Kking! Kking!
[Heheh. The Great Kkamang, Security Director of Sejun Company, is also amazing! Though I was always amazing!]
Queng and Kkamang cheered as well.
“Daddy! Taecho wants to be a director too!”
Having no official title yet, Taecho begged Sejun for one.
“Alright. You’ll be the Director of Gratitude.”
“Director of Gratitude? What does that do?”
“The Director of Gratitude expresses gratitude whenever something good happens.”
“Heheh! Okay! From now on, I’m the Director of Gratitude! Daddy, thank you for raising me!”
Taecho bowed deeply in a belly-button bow.
Sniff.
Sejun was so moved he felt like he might pass out from happiness.
As he was about to lose himself—
Oh. This isn’t the time.
“Let’s head out.”
Leaving the confused Resistance behind, Sejun and the group stepped outside to find the corn altar. The harvest festival had to be properly held for the invitees to return to their worlds.
Soon—
Queng!
[Dad, it’s over here da-yo!]
Queng called to Sejun from the altar.
[Ripe Corn Altar]
Sejun stood before the altar—nearly all its kernels gone.
[Mini Corn Altar]
Around it were many mini-altars, some dried up and dead.
“So that’s how they kept the festival going…”
It seemed the Winged Monkeys had been using kernels from the main altar to create mini ones and artificially extend the harvest festival.
Then—
[A quest has appeared.]
[Quest: The Ripe Corn Altar desperately wishes to complete a proper Festival of Abundant Harvest before it dies. Please hold a true festival and fulfill its desire.]
Reward: Happiness of the Ripe Corn Altar, New Variety of Corn Seed
A quest message popped up in front of Sejun.
“Alrighty.”
Opening his subspace inventory, Sejun offered 100 units of 50 different crops.
[1 type of crop: 100 units offered.]
[2 types of crops: 100 units offered.]
…
..
.
[20 types of crops: 100 units each offered.]
[Harvest Festival enhanced with abundance and magic.]
[A stream of magical energy connects to <Motri>.]
[An additional blessing from the magic stream is bestowed.]
…
[30 types offered.]
[Great Harvest Festival enhanced.]
[Blessing of Abundance upgraded to Great Blessing of Abundance.]
…
[40 types offered.]
[Second stream of magical energy connects.]
[Blessing now includes double streams.]
…
[50 types offered.]
[Festival enhanced into a Great Harvest overflowing with joy and magic.]
[The altar is preparing to summon 1,000 beings from other worlds to enjoy the festival.]
[Blessing of Peace is applied to <Motri>.]
[Mini-harvest festivals will be held wherever corn exists.]
…
Sejun had now offered 55 types of crops to the altar.
And then—
“Yahoo! I got invited to the harvest festival!”
“It’s the festival!”
A thousand people appeared before the altar, marking the beginning of a true Festival of Abundant Harvest in <Motri>.
