Vol 2. Chapter 66: Welcome to the Kindergarten of Destruction! (66)
Inside the CK Entertainment building.
“The basics of infiltration are concealment and cover.”
Swish, swish.
As someone approached, Sejun quickly ducked behind a vending machine. Even though he was invisible thanks to the Invisibility spell.
Not to mention, with the Silence spell, no sound came from his footsteps—yet he still tiptoed around sneakily.
Sejun was fully immersed in his own infiltration game.
There are quite a few people here.
As expected from an entertainment company, it was already past 7 PM and still packed with people who hadn’t left—or couldn’t leave.
Sejun enjoyed his infiltration game for about 30 minutes.
Getting boring now.
Once the game started to lose its charm, Sejun began to freely roam around the building like it was his own home, this time to actually gather intel.
He was searching for evidence to identify anyone involved in stealing the music from Suzububu Music.
I’ll catch every last one of them.
As he moved to gather evidence—
“Puhuhu. Chairman Park, I think they’re talking about Kyungsoo Cho in there-nya!”
“Really?”
Theo pointed toward an office, and Sejun quietly approached to eavesdrop on the conversation inside.
“Kyungsoo Cho wrote that mega-hit in a week, but the recent songs he’s uploaded to the shared folder are total garbage.”
“What’s weird about that? It’s not just singers who are one-hit wonders. There are plenty of composers who disappear after one big hit. Cranking out great songs continuously is the real anomaly.”
“But I also heard something strange.”
“What kind of rumor?”
“I heard it from someone in the marketing team who manages our Stargram account. They said one of the songs Kyungsoo Cho posted sounded really similar to a song another composer had submitted through the company’s account.”
“No way. Who in their right mind would steal a song that was publicly submitted like that?”
“Right? That’s what I thought. But the vibe was just… off.”
“Off?! Dude! Remember when you said actress Han Sua gave you weird vibes, so I passed her off to Team 3? What happened then, huh?! She starred in that movie and it was a blockbuster! Han Sua had ten commercials last year!”
Hmm. So even the staff don’t know that Kyungsoo Cho stole the songs?
Sejun slipped away and moved on.
Next stop—the break room.
“Oh. Nice snack stash.”
“Puhuhu. Great Hybrid Chairman Park, let’s grab it all-nya!”
Theo excitedly opened his pouch.
“Shall we?”
Just as Sejun began sweeping snacks into Theo’s pouch—
“I’m telling you, something’s off.”
“What is?”
Two men walked in, chatting. Their employee badges read “A&R Team 2.”
Same team as Kyungsoo Cho.
Sejun knew that from the department listed in Kyungsoo Cho’s interviews.
“Kyungsoo Cho. If he really had talent, wouldn’t he have stood out during the quarterly song review three months ago?”
“Exactly. Every quarter, composers present their own work in front of everyone. If he was that talented, he should’ve drawn way more attention by now…”
“Right? But instead, he just reworked some old junk from a year ago. He’s only skating by because Director Choi is his uncle. You think we’re idiots? We all noticed.”
Unaware of Sejun listening in, the two continued talking.
Even his own team doesn’t know he stole it?
Having heard enough, Sejun quietly slipped away.
Then—
“Huh?! Why are all the snacks gone?”
“Geez. Refill it when it runs out! Even the fridge is empty. Let’s just go to the convenience store.”
“Yeah.”
The snacks—and even everything in the fridge—were gone.
Puhuhu. Great Hybrid Chairman Park and I, Vice Chairman Te, took them all-nya!
Of course, the culprit was Theo.
Big brother is so cool-da yo!
That’s how you do it-da yo!
Queng’s eyes sparkled admiringly at Theo.
So Director Choi at CK Entertainment is Kyungsoo Cho’s uncle, huh?
Wondering if Kyungsoo’s actions were under his uncle’s orders, Sejun headed for the executive offices.
There were five executive offices, but fortunately, only one had the surname Choi.
[CFO Choi Doyoon]
“Director Choi, I hope I’m not catching you as you’re heading home?”
“No, I still have work to finish up.”
Voices echoed from the closed room.
“Iona, Blink.”
“Kkyut-kkyut-kkyut. Got it. Power of space, lend me your strength…”
Whoosh.
With Iona’s magic, Sejun and the group slipped into the office with ease.
“Director Choi, don’t take this the wrong way, but I had drinks with Kyungsoo yesterday… and honestly, I don’t think he wrote that song.”
“You’re right. I’ve also been investigating because I don’t think Kyungsoo made it. He’s my nephew, but even with a generous lens, he just doesn’t have that kind of skill.”
“So, what did your investigation find?”
“I confirmed that the song was sent to our account via DM from a place called Suzububu Music. Judging by the message, they were looking to sell it, so I think we can settle it through a conversation.”
“Good. Handle it quickly and quietly. If the press catches wind that our company stole a rookie composer’s song, the headlines will explode about big corporations abusing power. Not only will Pinky Girls get flak for promoting with a stolen song, but all our upcoming comebacks will get delayed too.”
“Understood. I’ll meet with the composer tomorrow and report back.”
“Right. And worst case scenario, we say Kyungsoo acted alone. It’s the truth anyway. Don’t take it personally.”
“Yes. I’m truly sorry… because of my nephew…”
“It’s fine. It hasn’t become the worst-case scenario yet.”
Sejun and his group had just heard the CK CEO and Director Choi talking about Kyungsoo Cho.
So even his uncle isn’t involved?
All signs pointed to Kyungsoo Cho acting alone.
Case closed. This is a solo act by Kyungsoo Cho.
Detective Sherlock Sejun, case of the stolen song—solved!
“Puhuhu. Then let’s go catch Kyungsoo Cho-nya!”
“Alright, Iona.”
Sejun called Iona.
Whoosh.
Iona used her magic again to move Sejun’s group out of the executive office.
“Fufufu. Time to catch the thief?”
“Puhuhu. Let’s do it-nya!”
Queng!
Kkin!
“Go go!”
While scouting the recording studios to find Kyungsoo—
“Oh. Phoenix is here. Meteor too?”
They spotted idols recording music.
And—
This guy didn’t steal just one song.
Sejun realized Kyungsoo had stolen every track he sent.
Moments later—
“Found him. This is the guy, right?”
Sejun compared Kyungsoo’s face to a photo on his phone and asked the group.
“Puhuhu. That’s him-nya!”
Queng!
Kkin!
“That’s him! Dad, can Taecho make the arrest?”
The group answered.
At that moment—
Bzzz.
Sejun’s smartphone vibrated.
“What now?”
He checked the screen.
– Hello, this is Composer Kyungsoo Cho from CK Entertainment. I saw your song and wanted to reach out…
It was a DM from Kyungsoo Cho.
“Hehehe. Perfect timing.”
Sejun grinned and looked to Iona.
“Kkyut-kkyut-kkyut. Cancel.”
Iona ★ 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 ★ deactivated the invisibility and silence spells on the group.
“Kyungsoo Cho, right?”
Sejun spoke.
“Mommy!!”
Startled, Kyungsoo cried out.
Hiss! Hiss! Hiss!
From his left ear, Theo was hissing.
Queng! Queng! Queng!
From his right ear, Queng roared.
Kkin! Kkin! Kkin!
Great Kkamang must protect the butler in times of crisis!
Kkamang barked furiously right next to Sejun.
“Dad! Taecho arrested the criminal!”
Taecho was gripping both of Kyungsoo’s ankles.
“Well done, Taecho.”
“Heehee.”
Sejun gave her a thumbs up.
Then—
“Kyungsoo Cho. I’m here so you can pay for stealing my song.”
“Hiss! That’s right-nya! You stole from the great Hybrid Chairman Park-nya!”
They cornered Kyungsoo.
“What?! A song? Don’t tell me you’re from Suzububu Music?!”
“Suzububu Music, yes. So those songs—did you write them?”
“You could say that.”
“Good. I just messaged you, so this works out. How about we make a deal? I’ll buy all your songs. 1 million won each. I keep the copyrights.”
Bold-faced thief. Forget the price—royalties are the main income source for composers, especially from album sales and streaming.
But he wanted to take those too.
Unfortunately for him, today he picked the absolute worst group to mess with.
“Hiss! Not even 100 trillion Tower Coins—just 1 million won? Are you kidding me-nya?!”
He was facing Theo—infamous across the Nine Towers and Earth—
—and Sejun, the dark force behind Theo’s chaos.
“Vice Chairman Te, take him to the Room of Truth.”
“Puhuhu. Got it-nya! Let’s take him to the Room of Truth-nya!”
Theo replied, not even knowing what that meant.
Kkihihit. Kkin!
[Heehee. Butler! The great Kkamang will take him to the Room of Truth!]
Kkamang excitedly rushed at Kyungsoo, ready to headbutt him.
“Hey, no!”
Kkin…
Sejun quickly grabbed Kkamang by the scruff.
If you do it, it’ll be the Room of Oblivion.
A regular human’s soul would vanish instantly upon contact with Kkamang’s spiritual form.
Meanwhile—
“Pffft. What are you even doing? Planning to hit me? Can’t you see the CCTV? Just try. I’ll sue you on the spot…”
Kyungsoo sneered.
“Hiss! Shut up-nya!”
Smack.
Theo struck Kyungsoo on the back of the head, knocking him out cold. He was so fast, not even the CCTV caught it.
“Kkamang, stay here. Everyone else, let’s go.”
Sejun sat on the sofa with Kyungsoo, wrapping an arm around him.
Snore.
Purr.
Qurrr.
Snore.
Sejun and the group all fell asleep on the couch next to Kyungsoo.
Kkin…
[The great Kkamang is bored…]
Left alone, Kkamang soon found something fun.
Kkihihit. Kkin!
[Heehee. Open this lid for me!]
“Yes!”
Time to show the butler the great Kkamang’s artistic talent!
Kkamang grabbed a marker in his mouth and began drawing on Sejun’s face.
***
Kyungsoo Cho’s mental world.
“Then, let the trial begin!”
Bang. Bang. Bang.
Sejun struck the judge’s gavel.
“Where am I?! What is this place?!”
Kyungsoo Cho shouted in panic, standing to Sejun’s left.
“Tsk! Disturbing the sacred courtroom? Defendant Kyungsoo, be silent.”
As Sejun finished speaking—
“Mm! Mmph!”
A gag suddenly clamped over Kyungsoo’s mouth, and ropes bound his hands and feet. Sejun’s mental strength was so overwhelming that he could suppress Kyungsoo in his own mental realm.
“Puhuhu. Great Hybrid Chairman Park, as the judge—this is the verdict! For the crime of stealing 10 songs from the great Hybrid Chairman Park, I, Vice Chairman Te, the prosecutor, demand 10 trillion Tower Coins in fines, 100,000 years of slavery, and 10,000 lashes-nya!”
Theo shouted from Sejun’s right.
It was now time for courtroom roleplay.
Queng!
[Queng wants to do the lashing-da yo!]
From the audience bench, Queng raised his hand enthusiastically.
Seated opposite Sejun were Iona, Queng, Taecho, the demon god Kali, and Gilsoon Nightmare, the Demon King of Dreams.
And then—
“You… you’ve been judged…!”
Mini Chairman Park No. 6, clinging to Kyungsoo’s left ear, shouted bravely.
Having grown to the size of a fingertip, Mini Chairman Park No. 6 had matured a bit.
However—
…
Kyungsoo couldn’t hear him.
Because like his original, Mini Chairman Park No. 6 was a coward—his voice was too tiny to be heard.
Sniffle.
Mini Chairman Park No. 6 drooped, heartbroken.
