Chapter 87: Chapter Eighty-Seven: The Last Night IV

All of a sudden. The clarity hit like a bucket of ice water.

I pushed myself up on my elbows, my gaze sharpening. "You..." I said, my voice steadier now. "What are you really?"

The demon woman... the manifestation... stopped her self-admiring preening. She raised a perfectly arched eyebrow. A flicker of surprise, then annoyance, passed over her beautiful, haughty face.

"Tsk." The sound was sharp, dismissive. "So, after a full manifestation, my charm doesn’t work on your mind as well. I must have oversaturated you. Used too much of my... essence."

She sighed, a theatrical, put-upon sound. "A succubus, darling. What did you think? A simple lost soul? A vengeful widow? My husband used in some strange experiments and turned into one." She laughed, a cruel, melodious sound.

"I’m the first wife of the old lord of this house. After countless experiments done by my husband on me I became a succubus, achieving that old bastard’s strange desire. However how can a human simply survive such transformation? I died shortly after. And when I died, I didn’t pass on. I became a... ghost? spirit? phantom? call it whatever you wish. Regardless of which the outcome ended with me trapped here, feeding on the sexual energy of this place, on the whispers of the sluts who replaced me."

She gestured to her body. "Thanks to your potent little contributions, I’ve managed to reclaim a fragment of my former self. Enough to have a proper shape. Enough to start talking clearly at least beyond being a mindless slut."

She leaned in close again, her violet and brown eyes gleaming. "And you’re to thank for this, my handsome little miracle. A stud with a dick strong enough to feed me back to life." Her smile was a razor’s edge. "Now... are you going to keep asking boring questions, or are you going to help me find that silver-haired bitch and start our first real project? Nothing personal against the girl it’s just that she has a looot of magical energy that I can use~"

The clarity was a cold slap. The sight of her... gorgeous, terrifying, and now real in a way that felt all too permanent... drove the last of the lust-induced fog from my mind. The crazy whispers were gone, but so was the protective, arousing haze. Now, there was just her, radiating a predatory power, and me.

I scrambled back on the bed, putting a few more feet of silk between us. "Magical... energy?" My voice was tight. "You mean you want to... take it? From her?"

The demon laughed, the sound rich and unsettling. "Take, feed, consume... semantics, darling. She’s a wellspring of refined, noble essence. Purer than what I’ve been scavenging from the livestock here. She’ll be... nutritious." Her violet eye gleamed with hunger.

I pushed off the bed and stood up, keeping my eyes on her as I backed slowly toward the heavy oak door. My heart hammered against my ribs. "You... I helped you, didn’t I?" I said, the words sounding weak even to me. "I gave you what you needed to... to look like this."

She tilted her head, a smile playing on her lips. "Oh, yes you did, darling. You were magnificent. A perfect little battery."

"Then," I said, my hand finding the cold brass of the doorknob behind my back. "I’ll take my leave now. I helped you, and I owe you nothing." I turned the knob. "I’m leaving now."

The smile vanished from her face.

"...What?"

The single word was soft. Flat. It wasn’t a question; it was an indictment. The temperature in the room dropped ten degrees. The shadows in the corners of the lavish room seemed to stretch and deepen.

She didn’t move. She just stared at me, her mismatched eyes now holding no amusement, no lust, only a chilling, absolute focus. The air grew heavy, thick with a pressure that had nothing to do with humidity.

I yanked the door open and took a step into the hallway, the cool stone air a relief after the oppressive room.

"That’s because you haven’t had a proper taste of what you’ve been missing," she purred, her voice echoing oddly in the corridor. "It looks like you need a little more convincing. A shame. I made these clothes with my magic... it’s a bit of a waste, but..."

A shimmer passed over her form from head to toe.

Her red silk blouse and black leather vest dissolved into wisps of violet and black smoke that curled away and vanished. The fitted pants disintegrated, followed by the knee-high boots. They didn’t fall to the floor; they simply ceased to be.

She stood there, at the threshold of the doorway, completely, breathtakingly naked.

The magic-made clothing was gone, revealing the true form my essence had helped sculpt. Her skin was flawless alabaster, glowing faintly in the dim hallway light. Her neck was long and graceful, leading down to collarbones that looked sharp enough to cut.

Her breasts were not just large; they were a masterpiece of obscene proportion. Heavy, full, and tipped with nipples the color of bruised roses, they defied gravity with a perfect, arrogant swell. The faint traceries of delicate blue veins were visible just beneath the pale skin.

Her waist was impossibly narrow, a dramatic cinch above hips that flared out into a wide, heart-shaped curve. Her ass was high, round, and impossibly full, each cheek a pale, perfect globe. Between her thighs, her pussy was neatly shaved, revealing lips that were a slightly darker shade of pink, already looking glistening and hungry.

Her legs were long and powerful, ending in feet that now rested bare on the stone. The small, elegant black horns rising from her dark bob-cut hair were the only things that remained, a crown of demonic heritage.

She struck a pose, one hand on her hip, the other reaching up to lazily cup one heavy breast. Her violet and brown eyes locked on mine, smug and knowing.

"Now, darling," she said, her voice a velvet command. "Does this look like something you walk away from? I’m the prize. The ultimate slut. And I’m offering myself to you. Forever." She ran her tongue over her lips. "All you have to do is help me get a little stronger first. It’s a partnership. Don’t be rude."

I looked at her naked, impossible body. At the horns, at the breasts that could start wars, at the hips built for sin.

I felt nothing but a cold, analytical detachment.

The frantic heat of the last weeks, the whispers, the obsessive hunger... it felt like a fever dream. My own mind was finally my own again, and it was seeing her clearly.

She was a problem. A dangerous, parasitic problem.

’How much time did I waste here? What happened to Pixia and Fenra? Why didn’t they rescue me yet?’

There was a lot going on that didn’t make any sense.

But most importantly...

"No," I said, my voice flat, devoid of all heat. "Is that all? I’m leaving."

I turned my back on her and started walking down the stone hallway, my steps measured and solid on the flagstones.

The silence behind me was absolute for two heartbeats. Then it shattered.

A wave of cold, psychic fury hit me in the back, a pressure that made the hairs on my neck stand up. Her voice, when it came, was no longer a seductive purr. It was a hiss of pure, undiluted malice, scraping across the stones.

"You ungrateful, common-born worm."

I kept walking.

"I gave you pleasure! I gave you purpose! I chose you!"

I didn’t look back. I was calculating distances. The stairwell to the main hall was about forty paces ahead.

"You think you can just use me and walk away? You think my husband’s bloodline, this mansion, these sluts are yours to play with because of my blessing? You are a tool. A vessel for my will!"

Her voice was rising, echoing, becoming less human, more a screech of static and ancient rage. "I will ruin you! I’ll whisper to the rabbit until she goes mad and tears you apart! I’ll haunt Vesper until she locks you in the darkest pit she has! I’ll make every woman in this house see you as a monster and drive you out with pitchforks!"

"...!!!?"

I made it ten more steps before the floor beneath my boots ceased to be stone.

It turned to fine, grey ash that gave way like quicksand. My next step sank in up to my ankle. I tried to pull back, but the ash solidified instantly, a gritty, powerful cement locking my leg in place. I stumbled, and my other foot plunged in, trapped just as fast. I was cemented to the spot.

I turned, struggling against the hold, just in time to see her.

"YOU CAN’T GET OUT!" she shrieked, the sound tearing through the unnatural space. "THIS IS MY WORLD! MY HOUSE! YOU ARE IN ME! YOU ARE MINE!"
