Slime True Immortal
Chapter 459: The Ultimate Display of Slime Power
Can slimes really be this powerful?
Krogg felt dazed.
These gelatinous creatures crawling out of the swamp were nothing more than muck that most warriors could crush with a single stomp, and mere alchemical ingredients in the eyes of mages.
Yet the colorful black slime before him stood like an insurmountable mountain, blocking their path.
Before he could shake off his stupor, Chen Yu had already moved.
The iridescent gel body compressed with force, like a spring squeezed to its absolute limit, every color on its surface converging toward the center in the same instant.
He used Rem's talent.
[Light Burst]
Dazzling holy light erupted from the gel surface.
Waves of radiance spread outward with Chen Yu at the center, illuminating the earth, the forest, the city walls... everything down to the finest detail.Shadow creatures lurking in the darkness let out piercing shrieks the moment the light touched them, dissolving like frost under searing fire, vanishing into ash.
Even more terrifying, the light seemed capable of piercing through planes.
Even though Mammon had concealed himself within the protective layers of a demiplane, the holy light effortlessly penetrated his projection and shone directly into the demiplane's interior.
The floating dust and flowing magical mists inside the demiplane dissipated rapidly under the holy light, like thin fog scorched by blazing sun.
The radiant damage wrenched a pained cry from Krogg.
Wisps of white smoke rose from his towering skeletal frame as if he were being burned alive. Though his skin had long since rotted away, the agony burning deep within his soul was far more intense than any physical wound.
He hastily wrapped himself in his robes, curling up in a desperate attempt to hide from the all-pervading light.
Finally, after several seconds, the radiance gradually faded.
Krogg regained his vision and instinctively looked down at his own hands.
The Shadow Staff in his grip was rapidly dimming, dissolving inch by inch. Even the authority of shadow itself couldn't withstand this dreadful holy light.
"Krogg, if you don't want to die here, stop gawking!" Mammon's voice was hoarse and cold.
He raised his staff and cast spells in rapid succession.
[Feeblemind]
[Infernal Sphere]
[Withering Spell]
[Soul Severance]
A barrage of spells slammed into Chen Yu's gel body. Energy and rays exploded, sending ripples cascading across his surface. But they were merely ripples.
These combined spells, enough to give even a Giant Dragon a pounding headache, left not a single scratch on Chen Yu's colorful black gel.
Moreover, the Elemental Slime form's elemental immunity was so high that the damage from those spells was negligible to the point of being irrelevant.
Krogg finally snapped back to action.
Suppressing the searing pain left by the holy light, he joined Mammon in casting spells.
Fireballs condensed between their palms, frost fell from the sky, tendrils of darkness crawled up from beneath the earth... The combined assault of two Legendary mages was enough to level an entire city in moments.
Yet when those spells landed on Chen Yu, the effect remained pitifully small.
"It's useless... nothing works..." Mammon's voice carried a noticeable tremor.
He could feel his spells striking their target, triggering their intended effects, but that mass of gel was like an abyss devouring all energy. No matter what attribute the spell possessed, it was effortlessly neutralized the moment it touched the surface.
A slime in this form... was simply despair-inducing.
Chen Yu gave them no time to catch their breath.
His massive body leaped forward, slamming into the ground with a thunderous impact. Cracks spiderwebbed outward across the earth in every direction as he contacted Big Brother Slime.
[Gravity Control]
The Golden Slime's unique gravity talent was pushed to its absolute limit in that moment.
BOOM!
A dull, thunderous roar erupted from the depths of the world itself, as if the very land were groaning under an unbearable burden.
With Chen Yu at the center, the battlefield spanning several kilometers, forest included, suddenly bore the weight of terrifying gravitational pressure.
The ground caved inward at a visible rate, as if an invisible giant had stepped on it.
Trees throughout the forest couldn't withstand the pressure. Towering spruce and birch snapped like broken matchsticks, toppling in waves.
The Undead burning with ghostly blue flames didn't even have time to struggle. Their skeletal frames were crushed flat, ground into the sinking earth.
Further away, the Demon Legion was directly compressed into clouds of blood mist. Dark red haze burst across the night sky before being slammed into the ground by the crushing gravity.
Even the massive Inferno Demon King, Ember, felt the gravity's crushing grip.
The magma flowing across his body grew viscous, his molten outer coat seeming coated in a layer of tar. Every movement became sluggish and heavy.
Ember roared in furious rage, every inch of magma boiling, his voice rolling across the battlefield like a volcanic eruption.
"Slime King! The fury of flame will drown you!"
He raised his enormous hand in uncontrollable fury, the searing heat distortioning the air around it, and slammed it directly down at Chen Yu.
Chen Yu couldn't be bothered to acknowledge him.
His gel surface gave a light flicker, the colorful black quickly fading away to reveal fresh emerald green.
Thick vitality surged from his body at a visible pace, flowing down his form like spring water, seeping into the earth beneath.
Flowers and wild grass burst through the soil, unfurling tender green leaves in the air. The scorched wasteland, just ravaged by war, was covered in lush greenery within seconds.
[All Plants as Soldiers]
[Promote Growth]
[Hixiulong Part One]
The grass slime's growth-stimulating talent transformed into a pillar of emerald light, pouring directly into the silver giant tree behind him.
The moment the silver tree made contact with that life force, brilliant silver light bloomed from its trunk.
It let out a long, deep sigh, stretching its branches.
Silver patterns on the trunk flowed violently, like blood racing through veins. An ancient face slowly emerged from beneath the bark.
The ancient tree's body swelled and grew, its roots like giant feet carving deep trenches through the earth as it propelled its massive form toward the center of the battlefield.
It raised its crown high, reaching toward the sky, growing taller, growing larger.
In the end, its sky-covering canopy directly caught the Inferno Demon King's descending palm.
BOOM!
The collision of magma and trunk rang out like thunder. Waves of scorching heat flung chunks of earth into the air, but emerald light coursed beneath the ancient tree's bark, blocking out most of the searing heat.
The ancient tree let out a low, ancient cry. Its crown gave a violent shudder, and countless silver magical leaves shot out like a rain of arrows.
The leaves blazed with bright light as they flew, transforming into countless spells of varied forms.
Frost, lightning, light blades, storms... They bombarded the Inferno Demon King like a torrential downpour.
Ember howled in pain as he retreated, massive craters blown open across his magma-formed arms.
He furiously tangled with the ancient tree, swinging his giant palms, slamming magma-coated fists deep into the tree's trunk.
The ancient tree refused to back down. It swung its thick branches, whipping magic-wreathed roots at the Inferno Demon King like lashes.
The two titans clashed across the devastated battlefield, every collision sending violent tremors through the ground.
Splattered magma rained down indiscriminately like a meteor shower of fire, igniting grass, scorching soil. But the charred patches were instantly reclaimed by stubborn green growth.
"Ca-captain, we need to take cover!"
The Slime Warrior, staring at the fire meteors streaking across the sky, nervously tugged at Yvonne's sleeve, his gel body instinctively shrinking toward the corner of the wall.
Yvonne, however, didn't move immediately.
She stood by the battlement of the city wall, leaning slightly forward, her gaze fixed on the churning earth below.
"Look." She extended a finger, pointing downward.
The Slime Warrior hopped up, poked his head out, and peered down.
The ground was writhing. Soil and rubble grew upward on their own, shaping into a thick, sturdy wall in moments, shielding the entire town behind it.
The wall was covered in emerald vines and grass stalks, radiating a warm, vibrant glow of life force. It was as if the earth itself had raised a shield for this town.
Fire meteors slammed into it with muffled impacts. Debris and sparks flew everywhere, sending the adventurers on the walls stumbling back a few steps in fright.
But when the flames died down, the green wall still stood tall and unyielding. Even the damaged sections were visibly knitting themselves back together.
The adventurers exchanged glances, then collectively breathed a sigh of relief.
After casually saving his citizens, Chen Yu's attention returned to Mammon and Krogg.
He stared at Mammon's projection, lost in brief thought.
He'd figured it out now. This demon warlock's spellcraft was far superior to his own.
If he tried using locating spells to search for the demiplane's coordinates, he wouldn't just fail to find them. He could spend half a day without even getting a trace of the bastard.
But actually, he didn't need to know the demiplane's exact position at all. A general direction was more than enough.
He took a deep breath, focused his mind, and reached out to the figure deep within his sea of consciousness.
"Silver Sparrow."
"Master." Silver Sparrow's voice responded softly.
"Take over the sword formation for me."
"Yes."
Chen Yu's body compressed with force, his gel surface continuously secreting gel substance.
The freshly secreted gel rapidly hardened under the Metal Slime's properties, forming blade after blade of gleaming metal longswords.
The swords arranged themselves into a dense forest of steel around him, their surfaces smooth as mercury, reflecting the firelight of the night sky.
Silver Sparrow's computational power joined in instantly.
With her as the core operator, fissures silently tore open in the void. Metal longswords streamed into the rifts one after another, spreading like tidal waves deep into the Astral Realm.
Hundreds of thousands of swords, under Silver Sparrow's immense computational might, arranged themselves in precise formations, spreading out like latitude and longitude lines on a star chart.
They split into countless groups, expanding in different directions. Each sword vibrated with faint fluctuations in the void, probing the spatial structure around it.
Inch by inch, they advanced, narrowing the search range, pinpointing coordinates. Using the most primitive yet effective method, they brute-forced Mammon's demiplane spell.
With Chen Yu's own Divine Sense strength, this range could extend perhaps dozens of kilometers through the ether.
But with Silver Sparrow managing the formation, the tracking range not only multiplied several times over, it also saved him tremendous Divine Sense expenditure.
At first, Mammon didn't notice.
He remained hidden in his demiplane, catching his breath and restoring his mental energy while observing Chen Yu's movements.
It wasn't until he felt subtle vibrations constantly coming from outside the demiplane.
Mammon's black-purple face turned even darker.
He was baffled.
In all his centuries of existence, this was the first time he'd ever seen a demiplane spell cracked this way.
Wasn't a mage duel supposed to be about hurling spells at each other, then using detection magic to find the opponent's coordinates, or perhaps applying causal curses and forcibly breaching with dimensional magic?
How was this deviating from the standard formula?!
Krogg also sensed the danger.
His lips moved in silent incantation, clearly trying to reach some entity from the beyond through a secret connection, hoping to open a rift to carry him away from this den of disaster.
But he cast too late.
In midair, Chen Yu's small eyes gleamed faintly.
"Found you."
In that instant, every metal longsword scattered across the Astral Realm seemed to receive the same command simultaneously.
They paused for a heartbeat, then reversed direction, streaking toward a single point deep in the void.
The first sword traced a silver line through the void. Tens of thousands of silver blades, like iron filings drawn by a magnet, surged along the opened path at terrifying speed.
The spectacle was utterly breathtaking.
The silver sword horde swept across floating debris and dust, converging into a river, carrying unstoppable force as it thundered straight toward the locked-on demiplane.
Krogg had barely stepped through the fissure when the silver sword flood shattered the demiplane's protective barrier.
The blade tide poured into the demiplane's interior like floodwaters gushing into a cellar, rampaging through the confined space.
The demon warlock Mammon was engulfed by the surging sword tide, his entire body erupting into a cloud of crimson mist within the blade light, scattering into the void.
Chen Yu continued tracking Krogg's escape coordinates, but suddenly, a wave of cold, sinister power crept along his Divine Sense.
Icy, decaying.
Death divine power again.
Chen Yu was all too familiar with this kind of force.
The Death Shadow that had once lurked within the Sun Divine Kingdom had used similar power.
He cut off his Divine Sense without hesitation, flinging off the clinging cold force.
Unfortunately, it still got away.
Chen Yu felt a twinge of regret.
At this rate, this Undead giant must have hidden the Totem Ice Pillar deep within some plane connected to death itself.
But he had no way to trace the source back. After all, it involved the power of a Deity.
Looks like the Totem Ice Pillar was out of reach.
His attention returned to the battlefield. The Inferno Demon King was still fiercely locked in combat with the Arcane Ancient Tree.
The titans' struggle had churned the battlefield beyond recognition. Magma and tree roots intertwined, searing flames and vibrant life force colliding into great billowing clouds of white steam.
Chen Yu's gel body swelled slightly.
[Primordial Origin Sword Dao]
[Primordial Unity True Technique]
Sword light erupted from his core, weaving into a radiant glow that spanned heaven and earth across the night sky.
The blade light carved through the Inferno Demon King's body.
Magma gushed from the gash, scattering into a sky-filling rain of fire across the land.
The Inferno Demon King struggled to close the wound, but the places severed by that sword light simply refused to heal.
For the first time, unmistakable fear flickered in Ember's crimson eyes.
He abandoned the fight without hesitation. His colossal body sank low, fleeing through his summoning formation.
Chen Yu made no move to stop him, simply watching him vanish into the formation.
These Legendary beings here might not have the heaven-rending, earth-destroying sword Dao divine arts of the cultivators from Xu Xuan Heaven, but nearly every single one was a mechanic monster.
Teleportation, instant movement, damage reflection, death substitution, soul reincarnation, soul splitting... Every ability mechanic was more absurd than the last.
He even suspected that demon warlock hadn't truly died.
After all, not every demon warlock was as pathetic as Casaric. A few centuries of spellcasting experience meant nothing before these Legendary demons, like a fresh novice.
Well, at least it was over. And it seemed there might be spoils of war too.
Chen Yu's form slowly shrank, eventually returning to his normal size.
The Slime Legion members peeled away from the light, blinking their small eyes in confusion, as if they'd just woken from a long dream.
Chen Yu waved a small hand, and Primordial Yellow Kun Earth Dao smoothed out the pitted ground.
The adventurers finally saw the outcome of this war.
The demons and Undead had vanished. All that remained on the battlefield were the knights of the Slime Legion, and His Majesty.
Yvonne stood on the city wall, staring blankly at that figure, murmuring in a daze: "We... won?"
"We won!"
The Slime Warrior confirmed, hopping excitedly at her feet, his gel puffing up with enthusiasm.
Only then did the adventurers above and below the city walls fully exhale.
Some collapsed against the base of the wall, tilting their heads up at the night sky where the moon had emerged once more, letting out long sighs of relief at having survived.
