Chapter 114 - Astralis Requiem
Chapter 114: 114 – Astralis Requiem
Feeling that light embracing his body, Lohan was shocked to realize that both his body and his consciousness were “standing” on a solid, soft, and comfortable cloud under a grand, starry night sky.
The sky he was seeing was like a tapestry of vibrant colors that made both the sky of his previous world, and even more so the sky of the real world in this life, look like faded paintings… This was a stark contrast to the gray horizon and toxic air of the Lower Zone, where pollution stifled any beauty, or even the slightly better sky of the Upper Zone where his college was located.
Here, the darkness was clear and deep, revealing an ocean of stars so intense that they seemed within reach of his tentacles.
Neighboring planets appeared on the horizon with frightening clarity, displaying rings of cosmic dust and detailed surfaces that Lohan never imagined he would see so close up on any of the worlds he had visited.
Out of curiosity, Lohan even activated [Monocular Telescopic Vision Lv 9] and was shocked by the even greater level of detail he could see!
The level of this evolution was still very low, so he didn’t reach the point of seeing from one planet to another, but capturing small points of civilization on those neighboring planets was also shocking!
’I never imagined that something so beautiful existed…’ He thought in shock.
The three large moons, which had already amazed him during the day in Elysium, now stood out even more in the scenery, emitting a beautiful glow that tinged the clouds in shades of cyan and violet that he didn’t even know were possible.
The Mana concentrated in the air manifested as strands of luminous silk and small floating lights, similar to celestial jellyfish, which made Lohan’s core vibrate in a resonance of pure comfort.
Looking to the side, Lohan also saw Lisa’s small and delicate white fox, looking at it as amazed as he was.
Even she, someone who had traveled to countless planets on business for the Vance Group, had to stop to observe such a clean and pure world.
Most of the planets that humans had access to were quickly destroyed and polluted, so seeing something like this was rare even for her.
Sure, there were paradisiacal planets that her family owned, where she often traveled to spend her vacations and relax, but for a view like this to be possible, a sequence of factors had to align perfectly, or perhaps artificially by a greater power? Something she had never seen before.
“Did you bring me here?” Lohan asked, confused, finally snapping Lisa out of her trance.
Looking at the Slime, her eyes formed arcs as a hint of a smile appeared on her fox-like face, and she nodded positively. “Yes, as I said, to create a guild, at least one other player must be present, and even though your presence here wasn’t necessary, after seeing this view, I thought you would like it too, so I brought you here to see it with me.”
After saying that, she turned back to that magnificent view.
Lohan followed her gaze.
Even though he had 360-degree vision, he still stuck to human habits of focusing on one point while making the rest of his surroundings peripheral vision, but now he forced himself to change that and let that total view dominate his mind.
“Thank you, I really enjoyed coming to see this with you.” Lohan said in a smiling, relaxed voice.
Seeing their appreciation for this scene, a small star flashed for a fraction of a second, an abnormality that neither of the two Players noticed.
Suddenly, Lisa felt the Dungeon Core pulsate, as if saying something, and she stopped focusing on the view, controlling the Dungeon Core, causing a bright blue screen to appear in front of her, like the Elysium game system screen.
[Do you want to create a Guild?]
Lisa promptly replied. “Yes.”
[What will the Guild’s name be?]
Upon seeing this question, Lisa froze.
From the beginning, she had planned to make the best Guild in Elysium, to prove to her mother that she deserved everything she had, to show everyone that what they said about her behind her back was a lie.
She had already planned the development of the guild, possible alliances, and everything else… but she had never stopped to think about the name of the Guild!
With the question in front of her, and the Dungeon Core pulsing even faster, as if to indicate that her time was running out, Lisa’s mind went blank!
She couldn’t think of anything but basic names!
“Halon, help me, what name can I give the guild?! I can’t think of anything!”
Lohan awoke again from the beautiful view he was observing, not expecting this question from her.
But looking around, a name came to his mind and wouldn’t leave.
“How about… Astralis Requiem?” he asked.
“Astralis Requiem…?” Lisa repeated aloud, a little uncertain about this clearly improvised name, but looking around and feeling the tranquility that the view brought her, she felt that the name was very good!
“The Stellar Rest…” The more she repeated it and understood the meaning of those words, the more she felt that the name was perfect. “Halon, I think that name is amazing!”
Without further hesitation, feeling the urgency of the Dungeon Core, she completed it.
[Astralis Requiem]
[…]
[Do you wish to invite Player “Halon” to the Guild “Astralis Requiem”?]
“Yes.” Lisa agreed without hesitation.
[The Astralis Requiem Guild has just been formed. Congratulations on being the First Guild of Elysium!]
[The Guild reward is being generated…]
Reading that message, Lisa felt her chest throb with relief, finally reassured that no one else had stolen this First Time from her, and at the same time she was anxious, not only to know what the reward would be for having the first guild in Elysium, but also for the future of Astralis Requiem and to know what that held in store for her future.
Lohan, on the other hand, shared Lisa’s curiosity about the Guild’s reward, but he wasn’t that excited about the Guild’s development; to be honest, he didn’t even care that much. Instead, he was excited about the possibilities this world would bring and the adventures he would finally experience now that he was so close to reaching a decent level of strength in the world.
With so many Players coming into the open world, he wanted to make the most of the initial advantages he had gained, while still having fun with Lisa, the unexpected friend he had made in this new world.
What he didn’t know was that this happy and fun adventure he imagined he would have would actually turn out to be something much more serious and worrisome than he expected.
The world that once saw him as just a small and useless Slime would soon be depending on his gelatinous shoulders to sustain itself.
And to confirm this, a large and beautiful blue star shone in the sky again, as if satisfied with the choice of the first guild’s name, deciding on its own to grant an even more special gift to celebrate this achievement.
