Chapter 106: Word Spirit Magic?
Chapter 106: Chapter 106: Word Spirit Magic?
CREAK~
The heavy door groaned under Su Han’s hand, the sound setting his teeth on edge.
As he slowly pushed the door open, the scene within the main burial chamber came into view.
When he saw the scene inside the chamber clearly, Su Han froze for a moment. He was subconsciously reminded of a scene he had imagined earlier that day:
’The moment I push the door open, I’ll see the Royal Ancestor lounging on a reclining chair with his legs crossed, holding a Zisha teapot in one hand and slurping noisily from it.’
’Hearing the door open, the Royal Ancestor will look over and see me, his great-great-great-great-great-grandson, walking in.’
’And as he sees me, I’ll see him, comfortably enjoying his tea.’
’The moment our eyes meet, the Royal Ancestor will slip into his coffin with a WHOOSH.’
’He’ll pull the lid shut, not forgetting to yell, "I’m already dead! What you just saw was an illusion..."’
Though it had all been in his head, the scene before him now made Su Han wonder—’Do I have some kind of ability like Word Spirit Magic?’
’Do my words become reality? Do my thoughts come true?’
’Otherwise... putting aside that business with the Demon Ancestor Master from the Celestial Demon Sect, how else could he explain... this?’
As Su Han stared at the scene, wondering if he possessed an ability like Word Spirit Magic and feeling a little wistful about it...
In the main burial chamber, an old man had, just a moment before, been sitting on a recliner in front of the coffin. He was holding a Zisha teapot, blissfully sipping his tea and enjoying the peaceful, quiet comfort of his tomb. Now, his eyes darted back and forth, sizing up Su Han, Su Yi, and Su Xiao’Er.
His gaze lingered on Su Han’s face for three full breaths.
WHOOSH~
With a rush of air, the figure on the recliner became a blur and dove straight into the coffin.
THUD~
The coffin lid slammed shut.
"I’m already dead. You didn’t see anything."
A voice that left them speechless came from inside the coffin. Then, silence. No matter what happened outside, the person playing dead inside seemed as if he had truly been gone for over a thousand years, without another sound to be heard.
If not for the still-swaying recliner telling the truth, one might really have suspected that the whole thing was just an illusion.
"Your... Young Prince, was that... the Royal Ancestor?" Su Xiao’Er stammered.
Su Han glanced at Su Xiao’Er without a word and strode toward the coffin.
SWISH~
A carving knife appeared in Su Han’s hand. He said nothing, simply beginning to carve intricate patterns onto the coffin lid. Before long, a layer of sealing power began to form over it.
"Descendant, what are you doing!"
Just as Su Han was about to carve the final stroke, an anxious, panicked voice rang out from the coffin.
Su Han’s knife didn’t stop. He lightly carved the final stroke, replying matter-of-factly, "Carving a sealing array."
"A sealing array? You unworthy descendant, are you trying to trap your ancestor in his own coffin?"
Su Han smiled. "The Royal Ancestor can’t seem to rest in peace. You’ve been dead for over a thousand years, yet you still keep popping out."
"Once I carve this seal on the coffin, the Royal Ancestor will be able to lie inside and rest peacefully."
"You... you bastard! You unfilial whelp! It’s like you wish I’d died sooner!"
Su Han’s hands didn’t stop moving; he began carving on the coffin again.
"I’m just thinking of the Royal Ancestor! Since you’re already dead, you should just rest in peace."
"Stop! Don’t!"
Apparently sensing the power of the array Su Han was about to complete, the voice from within the coffin was now tinged with fear.
He yelled, ramming himself against the coffin lid like a reanimated corpse trying to break out.
But now, the lid, which hadn’t seemed particularly heavy before, felt as if it carried the weight of several mountains.
No matter how hard he struggled, he couldn’t budge it an inch.
"Descendant, what do you want? You..."
Su Han carved another rune, and the power of the array on the coffin intensified.
A cold smirk appeared on his face. Su Han looked at the coffin lid and said softly, "Take a guess."
"Stop! Stop carving! I was wrong! I’ll call you ancestor, how about that!"
A terrified voice cried out from the coffin.
Su Han stopped what he was doing and took a few steps back, looking at the coffin.
"Get out here on your own."
RUMBLE~
The coffin lid was struck again with tremendous force, but it still didn’t budge an inch.
"I... I can’t get out."
Su Han flicked his wrist. The carving knife flew from his hand and embedded itself in the coffin lid, disrupting the power of the array.
BOOM~
A massive force erupted from the coffin, sending the lid flying. A familiar figure leaped out from within.
He was middle-aged and wore a Dragon Robe. His eyes held a hint of a weathered look, and he bore a strong resemblance—about eighty percent—to the Royal Ancestor Su Han had seen.
However... unlike the faint King’s Dominating Aura the Royal Ancestor exuded when he wasn’t being mischievous, this person completely lacked the regal presence an emperor should possess.
On the contrary, he faintly exuded the air of a petty man who had suddenly struck it rich and couldn’t hide his crude new wealth.
"Alright, who are you?"
Su Han’s brow furrowed slightly as he looked at the man who, despite wearing a Dragon Robe, had no regal presence whatsoever.
The man in the Dragon Robe actually had the cultivation of an early-stage Celestial Being.
His realm was unstable, however, as if he had forced his way to this level at the cost of all his future potential.
But in Jing Country, a place that currently didn’t even have a single cultivator at the Immortal Platform realm, finding a Celestial Being hidden in the Imperial Mausoleum was quite a surprise.
Moreover, this man bore such a strong resemblance to the Royal Ancestor. Su Han would never believe he had no connection to him.
That was the only reason Su Han hadn’t immediately struck down this man for daring to lie in the Royal Ancestor’s coffin and desecrate his memory.
However, while Su Han considered himself merciful for temporarily sparing the man’s life, the other party... didn’t seem to appreciate the gesture.
"Heh~"
With a cold laugh, the man’s body blurred into a yellow streak, rushing toward Su Han. He threw a palm strike, concentrating all his power into the heavy blow aimed at Su Han.
At the same time, a contemptuous laugh escaped his lips.
"Foolish descendant! I was originally just going to play with you. Watching his progeny bow down and worship me, your ancestor, would have been its own reward."
"But I never thought that after a thousand years, a descendant would actually see through my identity."
"I don’t know what trick you used to trap me, and if you hadn’t let me out, there’s nothing I could have done to you."
"But you were foolish enough to give up your greatest advantage."
"A mere Spiritual Sea Realm cultivator like you dares to think you can control my fate? Kneel!"
As his palm struck Su Han’s back, the man in the Dragon Robe watched as Su Han was seemingly blasted to pieces by the blow. He couldn’t help but sneer.
However... "So... your presence here really is related to the Royal Ancestor, then?"
’Not good!’
The moment he heard the voice, the middle-aged man in the yellow robe knew something was wrong.
Hearing the voice come from behind him, the man didn’t even turn his head, instantly leaping away from his spot.
He had no idea how Su Han had survived his full-powered strike, let alone appeared behind him like a ghost.
But being a cautious man, he wisely chose not to engage Su Han head-on again, even though he only appeared to be at the Spirit Platform Realm.
His figure flashed, evading a potential strike from behind. The yellow-robed man’s gaze swept over to the two people standing by the entrance.
’First, grab a hostage!’
His eyes swept over Su Xiao’Er, who was also at the Spirit Platform Realm, and he immediately gave up on that idea.
He turned and lunged toward the doorway without the slightest hesitation. His target—the one who appeared to have no cultivation at all... Su Yi.
