Chapter 102: Chapter 102: Sun... What the Hell, It’s You Again

Optional Skill 1: Tomb Raiding!

Optional Skill 2: King’s Dominating Aura (Nation)!

Su Han: "..."

Looking at the two optional skills, Su Han didn’t even know where to begin his complaints.

Judging by these two skills alone, he didn’t even have to guess—it was rock-solid proof. The skills in this Skill Tree had to have been left by his ancestor yet again.

It was just...

King’s Dominating Aura!

It was King’s Dominating Aura again!

’Just how obsessed was the Ancestor with King’s Dominating Aura?’

’Or rather, just how strong was his own King’s Dominating Aura that he could put a skill with the same name in every Skill Tree related to him?’

From the first Skill Tree’s Heaven and Earth Melting Furnace and King’s Dominating Aura, to the second’s Nine Swords and King’s Dominating Aura, and now to Tomb Raiding and King’s Dominating Aura.

’It seemed that when it came to his ancestor, King’s Dominating Aura was an unavoidable fixture.’

Scoffing internally, Su Han completely ignored the King’s Dominating Aura skill and focused on Tomb Raiding.

’Although the name of this first skill sounded a bit... scummy.’

’But then again...’

He mentally reviewed his Skill List, looking at the skills he already had.

’I’ve already got skills for smacking people with a Brick and knocking them out with a Blunt Stick. What’s the big deal about adding Tomb Raiding?’

’How much more depraved could they get?’

’Su Han even suspected he might encounter a series of skills with no lower bound in the future, like Throwing Lime Powder, Head Sacking, Monkey Steals the Peach, or the Progeny-Ending Kick.’

’Well... things had already gotten to this point. Su Han had given up on saving his public image.’

’Why even struggle? It was time to accept reality.’

’The concept of being "high-class, elegant, and impressive" had never had a damn thing to do with him!’

With a flicker of his will, Su Han selected Optional Skill 1: Tomb Raiding, and acquired it.

The skill transformed into a strand of Dao Rhyme and merged into Su Han’s Sea of Consciousness. Having lost its Dao Rhyme, the Skill Tree was consumed by the great fire, burning away bit by bit.

Once again, a scene of light and shadow materialized in his mind.

It was the same familiar silhouette, the same motion of a brush put to paper.

The Ancestor sat at a stone table beneath a tree, his brush flying across the paper as he wrote line after line of text with fluid strokes.

The content of the text was no longer about the Ancestor’s experiences as a mole in the Infernal Dao, a tale of "three years, then another three years, then another three," until he was in so deep there was no turning back.

This time, the Ancestor’s writing was a complete record of his experiences with Tomb Raiding.

For each technique he documented, the Ancestor even included one or two true stories from his own practical experience applying it.

Su Han watched as the Ancestor finished the entire book. He then placed it reverently into a jade box and buried it beneath a large willow tree.

Su Han remained on high alert the whole time, bracing himself for the Ancestor to suddenly turn around and call out, "Sun Thief!"

Luckily...

The Ancestor seemed to be well and truly dead this time, as he didn’t pop out to give him a scare.

The scene ended with the Ancestor burying the jade box under the tree.

Snapping out of the inherited memory, Su Han checked the skill description.

Skill: Tomb Raiding. Description: Seek the dragon, sever the ley lines, part the gold, and pinpoint the tomb. Raid the grave, raise the coffin, get rich.

The art is Dragon Seeking Magic; sever the lines to divine your fate. In the Immortal God Tomb Burial Ground, I come and go without a trace.

In short, the Tomb Raiding skill allowed one to seek dragons, sever ley lines, part the gold, and pinpoint tombs. It could easily locate auspicious sites, Immortal Tombs, and places of divine miracle.

One could freely enter and exit any ancient treasure site, coming and going without a trace.

’This skill... it might be a bit immoral, but its effects were absolutely badass.’

The skill description stated clearly that he could come and go from the tombs of Immortal Gods without a trace. With this skill, there would likely be very few tombs or ancient ruins in the world capable of keeping him out.

’So...’

’The Ancestor truly was the Ancestor. From the Heaven and Earth Melting Furnace and Nine Swords to this Tomb Raiding skill, none of the abilities he left behind had been a letdown.’

’But...’

He stroked his chin, his thoughts wandering.

Su Han’s train of thought inevitably went off the rails.

’Just a few days ago, he’d been thinking about finding a chance to check out the Ancestor’s Imperial Mausoleum, to look for clues about the Seven... no, the Eight Generations Copper Coffin.’

’He’d been worried because, after all, it was his ancestor’s tomb. He couldn’t just go in and desecrate it.’

’But without causing any damage, he had no way of slipping in quietly, having a look around, and then slipping out again, leaving no trace of his deeds or his name.’

’Now...’

’Hadn’t the perfect method just fallen right into his lap?’

’So... the Ancestor was a real mensch! Always there to offer a pillow just when he was getting sleepy.’

’He just wondered, if the Ancestor knew from beyond the grave that his own descendant was using the Tomb Raiding and treasure-hunting techniques he’d left behind to take a little stroll through his personal tomb, would he be pissed off enough to come back to life?’

’But, then again...’

’The Ancestor had been dead for over a thousand years, yet he still managed to pop up and be cheeky every now and then.’

’If I sneak into the Ancestor’s Imperial Mausoleum, I won’t walk in on him just sitting there sipping tea, will I?’

’Imagine it: I stroll into the Imperial Mausoleum as casually as if I were walking into my own home.’

’The moment I push the door open, I see the Ancestor himself, lounging on a recliner with his legs crossed, noisily slurping from a Zisha teapot in one hand.’

’Hearing the door creak open, the Ancestor glances toward the sound, only to see his great-great-great-great-great-grandson walking in.’

’At the same moment the Ancestor sees me, I see him, contentedly sipping his tea.’

’The moment our eyes meet, WHOOSH! The Ancestor dives into his coffin.’

’He pulls the coffin lid shut, not forgetting to yell, "I’m already dead! What you just saw was an illusion!"’

’Hmm...’

’Yes... that fits perfectly with the vibe I’m getting from the tiny glimpse I’ve had of the Ancestor’s personality.’

’So, if that scene were to actually happen, what should I do?’

’Well, as a filial and obedient descendant...’

’I should probably go along with the Ancestor’s wishes, help him hold the coffin lid down, and maybe slap on a few nine-star Arrays to make sure he can rest in peace.’

His thoughts, as they often did, had drifted billions of light-years away. Su Han only snapped out of it when the great willow tree had been reduced to a pile of ash.

After a moment’s thought, he stepped forward and sifted through the ashes of the great willow tree. He dug around the base of the roots for a bit before unearthing a perfectly sealed jade box.

He opened the jade box. Inside, just as he’d expected, was a handwritten manuscript: *The Years of Ancestral Tomb Raiding*.

He reached into the jade box and took out the Ancestor’s manuscript. The instant Su Han gingerly turned to the first page...

BOOM—

His Sea of Consciousness roared, and his awareness was once again plunged into a golden expanse.

In the distance, a golden figure stood with its hands clasped behind its back. Its aura was ethereal, like a Nine Heavens Exiled Immortal poised high amongst the clouds.

The next moment, the entire mood shattered.

The figure whipped around, a prankish grin on its face.

"Sun Thief! Did you think this book was my biggest secret?

Let me tell you, you’ll never find out my biggest secret in this life... Holy shit, how is it you again?!"

The prankish grin on the golden figure’s face froze solid the moment it got a clear look at Su Han.

It was an expression of pure astonishment, the baffled look of someone whose prank had backfired and who’d ended up scaring themselves instead.
