Six Months Contract With The Mafia God

Chapter 403: What About Lorenzo’s Surveillance?

The operations map of the Russo estate was spread across Dante’s desk.

Every entrance. Every exit. Every guard rotation. Every security camera. Every patrol pattern. Dante had been gathering this intelligence for months, long before he’d even thought about orchestrating Isabella’s escape. Information was currency in his world, and he’d learned early that the most valuable information was the kind you gathered before you needed it.

Luca was studying the map with the same focused intensity that Dante brought to it.

"The eastern gate," Luca said, pointing to a section of the estate’s perimeter that was less heavily guarded than the others. "That’s the extraction point."

"Already confirmed," Dante said. "The guard there is ours. Has been for three weeks."

Luca looked up sharply.

"You turned a Russo family guard?" Luca asked. "When?"

"The moment I understood I was going to need Isabella," Dante said simply. "His name is Milo, This Milo has a gambling problem. Two hundred thousand in debt to some very serious people. I paid it off and explained that his debt was now to me instead."

"And he agreed?" Luca asked.

"He understood that he didn’t have a choice," Dante said. "But yes, he agreed. He’s been waiting for an operation like this. Waiting for the moment when I’d need him to facilitate something significant."

Dante leaned back in his chair and studied the map.

"Isabella’s routine is predictable," Dante continued. "Every evening at 6:30 PM, she takes a walk in the eastern gardens. Supposedly for exercise and fresh air. Her father allows it because the gardens are on family property and the walk is contained within the estate boundaries."

"And how do you know this?" Luca asked.

"Because I’ve had someone watching her two weeks after she was taken back to the Russo estate," Dante said. "Every day. Every routine. Every pattern. At 6:30 PM, she leaves her room, walks through the main corridor, enters the garden, takes a twenty-minute walk, and returns to the estate."

"Does she do this alone?" Luca asked.

"She’s supposed to have a guard," Dante said. "But her father’s security is stretched thin because of the expanded operations and the tensions with Dimitri. So the guard typically maintains distance, giving Isabella privacy while still technically maintaining security protocols."

Dante pointed to the eastern gate on the map.

"The guard rotation changes at 6:50 PM," Dante continued. "The current guard, our Milo is scheduled to be relieved in a fifteen-minute window. During that window, there’s approximately seven minutes where the gate is unmanned or only casually monitored by the new shift."

"That’s your extraction window," Luca said, understanding immediately.

"That’s the window," Dante confirmed. "At 6:45 PM, Isabella takes her usual walk. At 6:50 PM, instead of returning to the estate, she walks toward the eastern gate. Our Milo is positioned there, ready to facilitate her exit. He opens the gate. She walks through. The new shift is just beginning to settle into their rotation and won’t notice the slight deviation in protocol. Isabella passes through the gate and into the tree line."

"And the car?" Luca asked.

"Positioned two hundred meters beyond the gate," Dante said. "In a small clearing that’s not visible from the estate. She walks through the gate, through the trees, and into the car. We’re gone before anyone even realizes the gate was opened."

Luca studied the map, calculating timelines and risks.

"What about Lorenzo’s surveillance?" Luca asked. "He’s watching Isabella closely. He’s not going to let her just disappear."

"Lorenzo will discover she’s missing at approximately 7:15 PM," Dante said. "When Isabella fails to return from her evening walk within the expected timeframe. He’ll send guards to search the gardens. They won’t find her. He’ll check the estate cameras. They’ll show her leaving the main corridor at 6:30 PM and entering the gardens. But there’s a forty-five minute gap where she’s out of camera range. He’ll assume she’s either run away or been kidnapped."

"And by that time?" Luca asked.

"By that time, Isabella will be three kilometers away from the estate," Dante said. "In a location that has no connection to our operations. A safe house that Lorenzo would never think to look."

Luca nodded slowly, approving of the plan’s simplicity and elegance.

"What about the guard?" Luca asked. "What about Milo? Once Lorenzo realizes Isabella is gone, he’s going to interrogate every guard who was on shift."

"Milo knows the risks," Dante said. "When he’s questioned, he’ll admit that Isabella left through the eastern gate. He’ll claim she told him she was going for an extended walk and that he wasn’t comfortable stopping her because she’s a Russo family member. He’ll express concern that perhaps she was kidnapped after she left the property. He’ll be cooperative and seemingly innocent of any involvement."

"And Lorenzo will believe him?" Luca asked skeptically.

"Lorenzo will believe what he wants to believe," Dante said. "Which is that his daughter either ran away or was kidnapped by someone outside the family’s control. He won’t suspect that one of his own guards facilitated her escape because the idea is too damaging to his pride. And by the time he’s questioning whether Milo might be involved, we’ll already be long gone."

Dante pulled up another document on his laptop, a photograph of the safe house.

It was a modest villa in the countryside, approximately thirty kilometers from Rome. The kind of place that could easily be mistaken for an abandoned property or a seasonal residence. It was isolated but not suspiciously so. It had multiple exits. It had secure communications equipment. It had everything they’d need.

"This is where you’ll take her?" Luca asked, looking at Dante.

"This is the holding location," Dante confirmed. "We’ll stay there for approximately four hours. Give Isabella time to understand what’s happened. Give Lorenzo time to discover she’s missing and begin his initial response. Then we’ll move to the secondary location."

"Where’s the secondary location?" Luca asked.
