Six Months Contract With The Mafia God
Chapter 353: Day 14 Of The Covenant Treatment
POV: DANTE
The physical therapy room in Dante’s estate had been converted from an old library. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlooked the gardens. A full array of equipment lined the walls...parallel bars, resistance machines, mirrors for form correction. Dr. Fabrizio’s team had set it up.
Today was Day 14 of the Covenant treatment.
Dante stood at the parallel bars, his hands gripping the worn metal, his legs shaking with effort as he attempted what should have been simple...walking the length of the bars without assistance.
Three weeks ago, he couldn’t feel his feet.
Now, he was walking.
Not smoothly. Not with the confidence he’d had before Jersey City. But walking nonetheless, putting one foot in front of the other, his body remembering what it had been forced to forget.
"Good," Dr. Fabrizio said, watching from across the room, making notes on his tablet. "Steady pace. Don’t push harder than this. We’re rebuilding neural pathways, not breaking world records."
Dante made it to the end of the bars and turned around, sweat dripping down his face despite the cool morning air. His legs felt like they were made of lead, but the sensation was improving daily. The tingling had evolved into actual muscle response. The burning had become manageable.
"Again," Dante said.
"You’ve already done this five times this morning," Fabrizio said. "Rest. Hydrate. We’ll do the evening session in four hours."
Dante wanted to argue, wanted to push harder, wanted to speed up the timeline that felt glacially slow despite the miraculous recovery. But he understood strategy enough to know that destroying his body wouldn’t get him to his goal any faster.
He released the bars and carefully made his way to the chair Luca had positioned nearby. Luca was always present during these sessions, always watching with that particular expression of concern that meant he was thinking about things Dante didn’t want to discuss yet.
"You’re improving faster than any of us expected," Luca said, handing him a water bottle. "Another week, maybe two, and you’ll be fully mobile."
"Good," Dante said, drinking half the bottle in one long pull.
"Boss, we need to talk about what comes next," Luca said carefully.
"I know what comes next," Dante replied. "We finish rebuilding the operation here. We integrate the intelligence The Covenant is feeding us. And then we hunt Dimitri Valentino."
"And the woman?" Luca asked. "Isabella?"
Dante’s jaw tightened at the mention of her name. Isabella was in Rome, under her father’s supervision, forbidden from leaving the Russo estate.
But she was also a complication he couldn’t afford to think about too much right now.
"Isabella is not part of this," Dante said flatly.
Luca didn’t look convinced, but he didn’t argue either. He just handed Dante a protein bar and stood watch while his boss recovered enough to stand on his own again.

The intelligence package arrived in a sealed envelope delivered by a courier who asked no questions and expected no answers.
Dante sat in his study that evening, the envelope on his desk in front of him, and stared at it for a long moment before opening it. This was the moment everything shifted. This was when theory became action. This was when the war with Dimitri would stop being about personal revenge and start being about strategic dismantling.
He opened the envelope carefully.
Inside were forty pages of detailed intelligence. Shipment schedules for Dimitri’s import/export operations. Business deals pending with major distributors. Territory maps showing vulnerable regions. Financial flows and banking relationships. Names of people Dimitri relied on. Weaknesses in his supply chain security. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ
It was comprehensive. It was detailed. It was exactly what someone with significant resources and time to investigate would gather.
Dante spread the pages across his desk and began to read.
The first section detailed Dimitri’s shipment operations. Three major routes bringing product in from overseas...cocaine from Colombia, heroin from Southeast Asia, synthetic drugs manufactured in underground labs across Eastern Europe. Each route had specific timing, specific checkpoints, specific people involved in the logistics.
The intelligence showed that one route, the Colombian cocaine shipment scheduled for arrival in New Jersey in four days...had a critical vulnerability. The container ship would dock at a specific terminal controlled by a port manager who’d recently had significant gambling debts. A man like that could be turned.
Another section detailed Dimitri’s business deals. A major legitimate import/export company that served as a front for his operations was in negotiations with a Japanese firm for expanded shipping capacity. If those negotiations fell through, if the Japanese partner suddenly withdrew, it would cost Dimitri millions and damage his credibility with other international partners.
A third section focused on territory. Dimitri had expanded operations into three neighborhoods in Brooklyn in the past six months, muscling out local dealers and establishing distribution networks. But the expansion was recent enough that loyalty was still uncertain. A well-placed threat or better offer could flip entire blocks back to neutral territory.
There was also a section on key personnel. Names and faces and information about the men Dimitri relied on. Marco, his head of security. Mike Thorne, his partner and Eve’s brother. A dozen others with varying levels of importance.
And finally, there was a section on Dimitri himself. His schedule. His patterns. The places he frequented. The people he trusted. The woman he was obsessed with.
Eve Thorne.
Dante read that section twice, understanding immediately that The Covenant was showing him the biggest vulnerability...not a tactical one, but an emotional one. A man in love was a man capable of being manipulated. A man with something to lose was a man who could be forced into mistakes.
But they’d already agreed, no direct moves against Eve. Dante had made that clear, and The Covenant had accepted it, probably because they understood that killing her would only strengthen Dimitri’s resolve instead of weakening it.
The final pages contained recommendations. A suggested order of operations. Which moves would have the most impact. Which vulnerabilities to exploit first. How to cascade the damage so that Dimitri would be constantly responding to crises instead of being able to plan strategically.
It was a masterpiece of economic and operational warfare.
Dante sat back in his chair and thought about what this meant. With this intelligence, he could systematically dismantle Dimitri’s operation piece by piece. Not through direct violence, but through the kind of calculated moves that would erode his power, damage his relationships, destroy his momentum.
It would take time. But time was something Dante had now, something The Covenant’s treatment had given him.
A knock on the study door pulled him from his thoughts.
"Come in," Dante said.
