Six Months Contract With The Mafia God
Chapter 101: Her New Prison
Isabella stared at the contract, her mind racing.
If she signed this, she was trapped. Bound by legal terms that gave Dimitri absolute power over her presence in the city.
If she didn’t sign, she had to leave. Go back to Rome. Admit complete defeat.
"How long do I have to decide?" she asked.
"You don’t." Dimitri slid a pen across the desk. "Sign it now. Or the car waiting downstairs takes you to the airport instead of your hotel."
She picked up the pen.
Hated herself for it.
But she picked it up.
And she signed.
Isabella Russo, in her practiced, elegant script.
Binding herself to terms that gave Dimitri Valentino the power to end her life without consequence.
Dimitri took the contract, filed it away. "Good. Now that we have that settled, let me make one thing absolutely clear."
He stood, walked around the desk, stopped directly in front of her chair.
"I am giving you a chance, Isabella. One chance. To build your organization with Enzo. To operate in the neutral territories. To create something that’s yours." His voice dropped. "But if you ever, and I mean ever approach Eve, surveil her, threaten her, or even look at her wrong, I won’t give you a warning. I won’t give you a chance to explain. I will simply end you."
He leaned down, brought his face close to hers.
"And I will make it hurt. I will make it last. I will make sure your last thoughts are regret and agony and the knowledge that you brought this on yourself." His eyes were absolutely empty. "Do you believe me?"
"Yes." The word came out as a whisper.
"Good." He straightened, walked back to his desk. "Marco will take you back to your hotel. You’re going to pack your things. You’re moving to a different property, one outside the main city center. More private. More isolated. Where you can’t be ’accidentally’ photographed by social media influencers."
"When?"
"Tonight. You have two hours." He sat back in his chair, dismissive. "And Isabella? The next time I summon you, you arrive five minutes early. Not two minutes late. Are we clear?"
"Crystal."
"Then get out."
Isabella stood on shaking legs, moved toward the elevator.
"Isabella," Dimitri called out just as she reached the doors.
She turned.
He was looking at her with something that might have been pity. Or contempt. She couldn’t tell.
"You asked my father to buy you time," he said quietly. "To give you a chance to stay in the city. So make use of it. Build something with Enzo. Create an empire in the neutral territories. Prove you’re more than just a woman obsessed with a man who doesn’t want her."
The words cut deeper than any threat.
"Because right now," Dimitri continued, "that’s all you are. A cautionary tale about what happens when you can’t let go. And frankly, Isabella, you’re better than that. You deserve better than that."
He turned back to his computer, already dismissing her.
"Goodnight, Ms. Russo."
Isabella stepped into the elevator, the doors closed, and only then....only when she was alone did she let the tears fall.
Not tears of sadness.
Tears of rage.
Because Dimitri was right.
She had wasted fourteen years on someone who would never choose her.
And she had two choices now.
Accept that and move on.
Or destroy herself trying to change the unchangeable.

POV: DIMITRI
Dimitri sat alone in his office after Isabella left, staring at the signed contract.
She’d signed it. Bound herself legally to terms that gave him absolute power over her.
And she’d looked broken when she did it.
Good.
Maybe that would finally get through to her. Maybe she’d finally understand that this obsession would only destroy her.
His phone buzzed. Eve.
Are you coming home soon?
He typed back: On my way. Just finished a meeting.
With who?
He paused, then decided on honesty. Partial honesty.
Isabella. Had to reinforce the terms after she was photographed today.
And?
She signed a formal agreement. She won’t be a problem anymore.
Okay. I’ll see you soon. Love you.
Love you too.
Dimitri closed his laptop, stood, moved to the windows.
The city sprawled below him, lit up like a constellation.
His city. His empire. His kingdom.
And somewhere in that city, Eve was waiting for him.
The woman he loved more than breathing.
The woman he’d lied to earlier today.
The woman who’d told him "no more lies or we’re done."
And he’d agreed.
Then kept lying.
Because telling her the truth about Lorenzo’s threats, about the "removal" plans, about how close she’d come to being kidnapped or worse, would put her in more danger.
Or so he told himself.
But the truth was simpler.
He was afraid.
Afraid that if she knew how dangerous this world really was, she’d leave.
And losing her would destroy him in ways that no enemy ever could.
So he lied.
And hoped she’d never find out.

POV: ISABELLA
Isabella sat in the back of Marco’s car, being driven to yet another hotel, her signed contract burning a hole in her consciousness.
She’d been humiliated. Again.
Threatened. Again.
Made to feel small and worthless and pathetic.
Again.
Her phone buzzed. A text from Enzo.
Heard you had a meeting with Dimitri. You okay?
She almost laughed. Was she okay?
No.
She wasn’t okay.
She was broken and furious and trapped in a city where the man she loved had just made her sign away her dignity.
But she typed back: I’m fine. Just tired. Talk tomorrow?
Of course. Get some rest.
Rest.
As if she could rest knowing that Dimitri Valentino owned her now.
Legally. Contractually. Absolutely.
The car pulled up to a building on the outskirts of the city. Smaller. Quieter. More isolated.
Her new prison.
Marco opened her door. "Your things will be brought over tonight. You’ll have full access to the building’s amenities, but I’d suggest you stay inside for the next few days. Let things cool down."
"How thoughtful," Isabella said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
Marco’s expression didn’t change. "It’s for your protection, Ms. Russo. Whether you believe that or not."
She walked into the building, took the elevator to the penthouse suite they’d assigned her.
It was beautiful. Luxurious. Elegant.
A gilded cage.
Isabella stood at the windows, looking out at the city in the distance.
Dimitri was out there somewhere. Probably with Eve. Probably holding her, kissing her, loving her.
While Isabella stood here alone.
Defeated.
But not destroyed.
Not yet.
Because she’d signed that contract, yes. She’d agreed to the terms.
But nowhere in that contract did it say she had to give up.
Nowhere did it say she had to stop loving him.
And nowhere did it say she couldn’t wait for an opportunity.
Because opportunities always came.
If you were patient enough.
Smart enough.
Ruthless enough.
And Isabella Russo was all three.
So she’d wait.
She’d watch.
She’d play by Dimitri’s rules.
Until the moment she won’t need to, She just need to wait for the right opportunity.
