Sin System: Demonic Harem After Reincarnation
Chapter 275. Wrapping Up
Chapter 275: 275. Wrapping Up
"Emotion... the bane of logic. Indeed, only a demon could pull off such trickery against me." Dominik immediately began casting a long spell but Jake didn’t stop him.
A minute later, the cursed prince’s eyes lost their luster, as if he had become a golem. Even his voice seemed mechanical when he spoke, "Thankfully I have this spell."
"Now, you’re the one who’s boring."
Jake teleported on the balcony with his subordinates, shrugging as he added, "You’ve already signed the contract anyway, there’s no point in me manipulating you again."
"A demon’s words." Dominik’s expression remained neutral even though he wanted to sneer.
"I’m confused about one thing, however. How will you exploit this contract when we’re allies? What purpose could you possibly have?"
"Oh that..." Jake smirked and threw a question of his own.
"Do you have any enemies?"
Dominik turned around and replied in a monotone voice. "None of my enemies have survived to this day."
Even though Jake couldn’t sense the warlock’s emotions now, he could tell this guy was trying to threaten him.
"Unlucky me, I’m not that capable."
Jake’s face lit up with an orange glow as he faced the afternoon sun while holding the urge to laugh.
"My enemies... Well, OUR enemies are still alive. They might be racing to reach here."
Dominik narrowed his eyes but relaxed them a few seconds later.
"Of course, a demon like you will have enemies. I can handle all of your subordinates alone... It’s nothing to worry abo-"
"You said something about invoking a Principle and whatnot..." Jake interrupted while still facing the other way. "Do you think a 6th Circle Saint can do that?"
"Saint..." The monotone voice became softer. Dominik’s eyes almost regained their luster but the emotions were suppressed eventually.
Once the cursed prince finally turned quiet, Jake began ordering his servants.
"Zevik, contact those three descendants of yours and bring the hostages here."
"Bors, fake an injury and go to the northern walls with Pristina. Those nobles and their men should have arrived by now, put on a show for them."
"Nobles?" Averon couldn’t help but speak, surprised by this information.
"Of course, nobles. What’s a chessboard without some pawns, eh?" Jake chuckled.
Those good-for-nothing leeches were here to support a coup, not knowing that their whole class system would cease to exist in the coming month.
If Jake wanted more control of the kingdom, he would have to uproot the nobles and create a tighter form of governance.
Only such a dictatorship could allow his cult to rapidly expand and bring more traction to the Dungeon of Sins.
"Oh right, Yvonne." Jake turned to the dragon girl and ordered,
"Contact Issac’s group. They should have brought the spare materials needed to build a one-time teleportation array. Tell the summoners to etch the runes in the city plaza and start rounding up the monsters. I don’t want them to destroy the whole city."
"Un." The beautiful crimson dragon nodded and flew off.
’Oh those curves...’ Jake smirked as devious thoughts raced in his mind.
"I’ve been too busy these days." Muttering to himself, he went inside the room and sat on the king’s throne.
"Hmm... not quite my taste. It’s a bit small, don’t you say?" He looked at Averon who still wore the royal crown.
The usurped king was seething in rage but had no choice but to stutter indignantly, "I-It’s built for a human."
"Really?" Jake placed one leg over the other and leaned back, replying as if he had a sudden enlightenment. "You might be right."
As soon as he said that, his horns, wings, tail as well as scales on his neck and forelimbs swiftly retreated.
Averon had already seen this form earlier, so he wasn’t that surprised. But the speed at which this demon became a ’human’ was indeed...
"Fascinating!"
Dominik’s voice was rather loud even though his emotions were still suppressed.
"You are able to metamorph without chanting anything. I’ve only heard Skinstealers from the Hell of Envy being able to do that..."
Jake didn’t reply to his new "ally." This was a skill he bought and upgraded from the system. It wasn’t something an ordinary demon could do.
Focusing his attention back to Averon, he simply raised a hand and used [Demonic Grasp].
"Give me that."
The poor man tightly held onto his sword but Jake had never targeted it. Instead, Averon’s golden crown was plucked off.
As the demon wore it on his head, he smirked in satisfaction. "If I could get that sword too..."
"Don’t go too far." The cursed prince looked over and flicked his finger, instantly bringing Averon close to him.
"Oh, now you care for him? How touching." Jake shook his head and stood up, walking to the corridor.
Before he entered another room, he looked back and casually waved his hand.
"I’ll be taking a stroll, signal me if Zevik comes back. I’m sure you won’t do anything that violates the terms..."
Dominik remained silent, still having his hands behind his back. Half-closing his eyes, he whispered again.
Beside him, Averon could feel that there was a change in the surrounding mana’s properties and density, but couldn’t figure out anything else.
"Looks like he’s not spying." No longer monotone, the warlock’s expression was a mixture of caution and curiosity.
Seeing this, whatever hope Averon had gained was thrown out of his mind again.
’It seems the only reason he defended me earlier was to see if the demon would overreact...’ the uncrowned king gently shook his head in disappointment.
Across the corridor, Jake strolled through the palace’s main wing.
Occasionally, he would find hiding servants and corrupt them. He would then tell them to spread the news that the palace had become safe again.
Since his [Magipathy] had already scanned the royal palace’s interior, he began teleporting to save time. Within two minutes, he’d corrupted every servant.
Reaching the west wing, Jake looked down at the ruined city from another balcony. He could see smoke rising from some areas as well as monsters running through the streets, growling and chewing on human remains.
It was like hell on earth and those who had managed to escape could be considered extremely fortunate.
At this moment, a loud roar shook the entire city, causing the rampant monsters to look up. They could see a giant, red dragon circling the sky while releasing a threatening aura.
If it was any other monster, even at the 5th circle, commanding so many monsters would be impossible. However, the threat of an adult dragon could trigger any creature’s survival instincts.
Converge!
The dragon’s roar only had one command, compelling the monsters to run toward the central plaza.
Witnessing this spectacle, Jake couldn’t help but feel like he was having his pet dog gather the sheep after they’d done grazing.
’’What a ridiculous thought." He sighed and looked toward the northern walls.
The nobles and their army had started their ’battle’ against the kingdom’s forces.
