Sin System: Demonic Harem After Reincarnation
Chapter 273. Deadlock
Chapter 273: 273. Deadlock
Dungeon of Sins, 66th floor.
Ariel’s loud panting echoed in her room. It had been two hours since she experienced her first contractions.
From time to time, corrupted midwives from nearby villages supported her by providing her breathing techniques, massages, etc.
Meanwhile, women from Jake’s harem mostly remained outside her room, softly chatting among themselves. Servants would bring food and water every now and then at the call of the midwives.
"I’ve already cast several relief spells on her. The pain she feels will be at the minimum." Perry announced as she walked outside.
"I expect the same from you two when my time comes..." She smiled at Mary and Numa, the twin Dark Priestesses.
"You don’t have to worry!" They nodded.
"Hah... Hah!" The foxkin adventurer took deep breaths and clenched her bedsheets. A minute later, she sighed and let one of the midwives wipe her sweat.
Then, she slowly stood up while holding her womb, and walked outside to meet with the others.
"It’s really too boring to just lay there." Ariel chuckled.
"Yes! You should move around..." Lena flickered on top of her, fluttering her fairy wings.
"Oh really? How do you know this?" Amelia, the petite catgirl, asked while holding her daughter, Nyx.
"Eh, I’ve seen all of you give birth!" The fairy immediately announced with a hint of pride on her face. She then flew away and started nagging the poor servants.
Ariel shook her head at this troublesome fairy’s antics and started chatting with Amelia. Yunna and Calliya, who were standing nearby, also joined their conversation.
Sometime later, Ariel’s cervix began contracting again, prompting her to lay down on one of the living chamber’s sofas.
This time, she refused any assistance and endured it alone. When it went away, one could see slight loneliness in her eyes as she faced the ceiling wearing a blank look.
"I wish master was here with me..." Ariel sighed.
...
Booming sounds filled the skies, making people still hiding in the city wonder if a thunderstorm was approaching.
Wind Cross Slash!
Smoke Bind!
Crimson Disaster!
Dragon Claw!
Skills upon skills landed on a cloaked man, whose hands and lips moved inhumanely, conjuring multiple defensive spells and fierce counterattacking moves.
It had been more than two hours since this battle started and there was no clear winner yet.
Dominik’s earlier injuries had healed long ago. Also, with every passing minute, he seemed to adapt to his opponents abilities and fighting styles, analysing them in a way no regular mage could.
If his opponents were even slightly weaker, he could’ve emerged victorious by now. However, the might of four 5th Circlers acting together was indeed not easy to fend off, considering that two of those four were adult dragons!
The cursed prince was always trashed around and would be at the brink of death, but he always bounced back and healed within a few minutes.
Even after Jake had blasted Dominik’s body to smithereens, turned him into ashes - he would somehow arise again, as if he was immortal like a phoenix.
After multiple such rounds of battle all around Ulford, both parties fell into a deadlock. Although one could suppress the other, they couldn’t completely win.
Eventually, Jake’s subordinates started to feel spent and attacked more conservatively. But that removed much of the pressure on Dominik, which made him able to easily swat away most of the attacks.
"Tch, no wonder they had to seal him." Jake scoffed, irritated.
He had already used [Demon Eye] on this guy multiple times, but every attempt to gauge his opponent failed inexplicably.
Even against those who were stronger, the skill would at least show something. But it just refused to work against this warlock.
’’Are we stuck in an illusion?" Zevik voiced his doubts, pulling away from the long, brown-haired man.
"It can’t be. As dragons, Master and I have a strong resistance to such magic. Only a Sixth Circler or above mage could do that..."
"Then? Is he in the Sixth Circle?" Bors raised his sword in a guarding position.
"Foolish. There’s no reason for him to toy with us if he’s already higher ranked than us. He may have only reached the threshold for 6th Circle." Jake narrowed his eyes in his dragon form and added, "I don’t believe he can resurrect infinitely..."
Actually, Jake had another theory. Being unable to be physically killed was perhaps Dominik’s corrupt trait. Indeed, this cursed prince was a naturally corrupted individual.
If not, why wouldn’t Jake use Degenerate Halo on this warlock when he had the chance so many times? A combatant of this caliber was always welcome as a subordinate. Unfortunately, it wasn’t possible to corrupt someone who’s already been corrupted.
Facing his four opponents in a stand-off, Dominik’s usual smile fell, "Looks like I can’t fulfil the promise to my nephew since you all refuse to die..."
The cursed prince again disappeared, causing Yvonne, Zevik and Bors to assume alert stances.
"It’s alright." Jake waved his hand and said, "I can track him. He’s heading to the palace."
As soon as he said that, his three subordinates promptly entered the city again. Jake, however, looked to the north.
With his enhanced vision, he could see thousands of human soldiers marching under the afternoon sun. At the forefront, there was a valiant, gothic woman wearing an eyepatch on her right eye.
Pristina Corwell, captain of the Dark Cupids and a 5th Circle Swordswoman!
"Looks like she’s finally here. Those nobles are too slow..." Jake transformed back to his hybrid demonic form.
But on a second thought, he used [Body Transformation] to assume a human appearance and then teleported over to her location.
Whoosh!
As soon as the pirate captain sensed the spatial fluctuations, she unsheathed her rapier but Jake simply caught it.
"It’s me."
"Y-You’ve advanced..."
"Yes," Jake replied and turned to Marquis Jones who pulled this horse to a halt.
"Greetings, Lord Jones." He descended and smiled, as if that man was truly relevant.
Before the marquis could come up with a reply, Jake simply grabbed the beautiful pirate woman by her supple waist and chuckled.
"I shall be taking Lady Pristina to the city. She is much needed in the battle against the kingdom’s forces!"
Jake then took a cursory glance at the rest of the nobles and added, "A new Chapter in Grimbow’s history shall be written today. We shall end the tyranny of the Phillips!"
As his voice was exceptionally loud, it was heard by the entire noble army. Before any nobleman or woman could speak up, Jake teleported back to the royal palace.
"Who was that?"
"He knows Lady Pristina?"
"They seemed pretty close..."
Several high-ranking nobles came up to the Marquis’s side with their own steeds. After greeting them one by one, Jones Oliver laughed while hiding his nervousness.
"Ahahaha, I told you I had other supporters, right? That was, uh... Sir Jacquavious, a Great Mage!"
