Chapter 985: Kneel

The scream of warnings not only from the owner of the Spirit Beast Crane but also from the other disciples in the vicinity echoes in the whole beast taming mountain. They all know what kind of temper this Spirit Beast Crane has among all the contracted beasts living on this mountain. It was grumpy and arrogant. But the scene they feared the most didn’t happen. The Spirit Beast Crane didn’t even move the other wing which was held by Yue Ruxia and it even used it to protect the youngest moon princess. The master of the Spirit Beast Crane was also dumbfounded. He couldn’t believe that his stupid, cranky crane did not fling his future junior sister, Yue Ruxia, when touched.

Moreover, it seems to be happy instead. It lowered its head and rubbed his face to Yue Ruxia’s head, making the latter laugh. The scene of this grumpy crane being clingy to someone else had left everyone dumbfounded.

"Am I seeing things right?"

"That green tea crane was actually being clingy to someone else aside from the Peak Master!"

"Xiao Baibai! Are you possessed?" Fan Ji asked as he grabbed his crane’s other wings and was almost thrown away like all other disciples from before. "What did you say? How can you curse me!? I am your master!"

The complaints of Disciple Fan Ji and the nonstop chirping of the spirit beast crane echoes in the area. Everyone knows that the beast tamer and his contracted beast can understand each other regardless of the difference between races. This is one of the perks of signing contracts with spirit beasts. Of course conversation is only possible if the tamed beast level was high enough or that it gained sentience or intelligence of it to converse with its master. This arrogant Spirit Beast Crane happens to be a nine-grade Indigo stage Spirit Beast. It also possessed a bit of a bloodline from the phoenix race where its arrogant and proud nature came from.

Spirit Beast were ranked from lowest to highest with nine grades. The highest being Violet rank and Ninth in grade. The lowest beast rank is red then next is orange, yellow, green, blue, and then indigo being the second strongest. First grade is also the lowest level each rank can have.

This Spirit Crane with a bit of phoenix bloodline is Ninth grade Indigo ranked spirit beast. It can be considered quite powerful among the ranking of the spirit beast. However, spirit beasts are not divine beasts. Spirit beast and Demonic beast are considered animals in the Immortal World while Divine beast is a higher tier bloodline among the beast race. Of course, spirit beasts are not capable of human transformation as this is an exclusive skill for the divine beast.

Yue Jixia had grabbed the youngest who was left alone after the master and his beast started fighting verbally and placed her in front of their elder sister. The moment Yue Ruxia meets her elder sister’s cold gaze, she immediately realizes that Yue Xuexia is angry. Even though her face was expressionless, the glow within her silver eyes is gone.

Yue Ruxia nervously looks at the Moon Goddess while feeling fear in her heart. She can already hear her own heart beat ringing near her ears.

"J-Jie...Shijie... I won’t do it again. I promise!" Yue Ruxia said.

However, there was no response from the Moon Goddess and this made the youngest moon princess anxious. It was only right now that Yue Ruxia had realized how dangerous her actions were. She knew that the compatibility they had towards the spirit beast was all thanks to the Elven bloodline in their veins. Though this bloodline wasn’t as powerful as the Moon Yin Bloodline and the Lightning God’s Bloodline, it was still useful compared to the other bloodlines.

Yue Xuexia said, "Kneel and raise your hands straight. Don’t put it down until I say so."

The youngest moon princess did as she was asked too. She immediately knelt down and raised both of her hands in the air. She cannot put her arms down or stand until her eldest sister is told to. Even though this punishment looks simple and all, Yue Xuexia had actually temporarily sealed Yue Ruxia’s qi and right now she is no different from a mortal at all. So keeping this position for a certain period of time would definitely hurt.

Yue Jixia, the second moon princess, looked at the youngest with a sneer on her face. She was gloating at the youngest who was now being punished. Just how dangerous Yue Ruxia had done just now. If that Spirit Crane had attacked her then breaking a bone is the least worse ending she can get. Thankfully, the spirit beasts are sensitive to auras and bloodline with the Elven Bloodline being the closest aura to nature, it made almost all beasts in existence feel good near them. The affinity of nature and the close ties of it to the spirit beasts and all living things that live within nature.

By the time everyone had stopped the master and his spirit beast fighting did they remember the Saintess and the two moon princesses visiting their beast taming mountain. When they turned to look around they finally saw the three ladies. The only difference is that one of them is kneeling with both her hands in the air. They know this scene very well. It’s a way of punishing children who had made a mistake, similar to a wall facing punishment. They knew that the youngest princess must be getting punished by now. They all thought it was the second moon princess who had done it. They didn’t know that this punishment was issued by their saintess instead.

Fan Ji, the beast tamer of the Spirit Crane, finally finished his fight with his beast and came to them. He wanted to remind them to get on his beast back only to see Yue Ruxia, his future junior sister, being punished. He didn’t mind this at all after all what she had done was indeed the most dangerous thing when meeting spirit beasts.

He sneaked a glance at the Holy Saintess and at the second moon princess then at the youngest moon princess kneeling on the ground.

"Well, the Peak Master is waiting. How about we... go see the master first and continue the punishment for later?"

When he suggested this the two moon princesses didn’t look at one another and instead turned their heads to look at the Holy Saintess of the Black Cloud Academy. Fan Ji and the other disciples looked confused as they couldn’t understand why the two moon princesses seemed to be seeking answers from the saintess instead.

Yue Xuexia was calm the whole time and said, "Stand up. Punishment continues later."

The three of them plus Fan Ji were preparing to ride on the back of the spirit crane. It was usually proud and would not bow its head even in front of the Peak Master of the Beast Taming Peak. But suddenly it lowered itself when the Moon Goddess had approached. It was a sign of servility and it was being shown before the Holy Saintess instead of its own master, Fan Ji. The scene of the Spirit Beast lowering himself left everyone dumbfounded. Only when the three sisters had gotten on its back did the Spirit Crane raise its head again.

Yue Xuexia said to Fan Ji, "Senior Brother, are we not leaving yet?"

"S-Sorry, we are going now. Go now," said Fan Ji as he commanded it to fly towards the peak of the mountain where his master was waiting.
