Chapter 193: Seris’s Awakened Powers

Rhain didn’t even uncross his arms.

Shadow Flicker Step

Rhain’s body blurred, casually dodging the ice lotuses with an effortless grace.

The razor-sharp petals whistled past his neck, his shoulders, and his waist, but they couldn’t touch a single thread of his dark, gold-trimmed robes.

Seris’s manipulated the lotuses to curve and strike from blind spots, but Rhain was always half a step ahead, strolling through the lethal blizzard as if he were taking a leisurely walk in a garden.

Finally, she halted her attack, the remaining lotuses dissolving into harmless snow.

"You didn’t even try!" Seris pouted, her cheeks puffing slightly in adorable frustration.

Rhain let out a warm laugh. "Your lotuses were impressive. The power has multiplied several times since the last time I saw you use them. Any peak Spirit Manifestation expert would have been seriously wounded."

Seris’s pout softened into a curious look.

"Husband, what is your realm right now? You move too fast!"

Rhain smiled faintly, and stopped suppressing his aura, allowing it to gently roll outward.

Seris blinked in astonishment. "Fifth level of the Spirit Manifestation Realm? You’re at the exact same level as me?"

"Right," Rhain nodded.

Rhain had successfully consolidated his foundation and broken through two additional minor realms during the past two weeks of intensive training.

The combination of his daily Sign-In rewards and his own supply of flawless Epic-Grade pills had fueled his ascent.

But with each new level, the demands of the Abyssal Sovereign Physique grew more voracious.

Where one or two pills had once sufficed to shatter a bottleneck in the Essence Condensation Realm, he now required handfuls of Epic-Grade elixirs for a single minor realm advancement.

If he were to cultivate at a normal pace, even with his terrifying absorption speed, each minor realm would take two to three months.

"Even though we are at the same realm, I cannot even touch your clothes?" Seris shook her head with in exasperation and admiration.

Expecting anything less from her husband was foolish.

But Seris’s competitive spirit had also fully ignited.

"Husband..." She took a deep breath, her tone turning serious, "I’m going to use my true powers now. The ones I gained from my Awakening."

Rhain’s eyebrow rose a fraction.

Seris planted her feet, closing her eyes.

Suddenly, a blinding silver light erupted from Seris’s core.

The light wrapped around her delicate frame, instantly condensing into a magnificent, intricately designed silver armor that covered her chest, shoulders, and arms.

She looked less like a fragile fairy and more like an unyielding warrior.

BOOM!

Her aura skyrocketed.

From the fifth level, her spiritual pressure forcefully vaulted over its limits—sixth level, seventh level, eighth level—until it smashed directly into the peak of the Spirit Manifestation Realm!

Her feet naturally lifted off the ground, and she hovered in the air, sustained purely by the density of her Heavenly Glacial Essence.

The pressure that radiated outward from her armored form was staggering.

It was stronger than many early-stage Core Formation Realm experts.

But Seris was not finished.

She slowly extended her right hand.

The surrounding space warped as absolute zero temperatures converged on her palm.

A crystalline blue light coalesced from the void, spinning, compressing, and sharpening until it took the form of a sword.

An icy-blue blade of materialized in her grasp.

Rhain recognized it instantly.

It was the same icy sword she had unconsciously manifested back in Greymist Town to momentarily freeze the late stage Spirit Manifestation Realm, Dorian Krath.

Back then, merely summoning the blade had instantly drained all of her essence.

But now, she held the blade effortlessly, her aura perfectly stable.

The sword was under her complete control.

"Husband," Seris called out from the air, "Please, be careful!"

Rhain looked at his wife — clad in divine armor, wielding a sword of concentrated heavenly ice, and felt a swell of profound pride rise in his chest.

She had grown so much. The shy, trembling girl who once hid behind his back had become a warrior in her own right.

A smile spread across his handsome face.

"Don’t hold back," Rhain said softly, his dark grey eyes brimming with warmth and affection. "You can go all out with your husband."

Seris’s fierce expression wavered for a fraction of a heartbeat, a flicker of familiar shyness surfacing beneath the warrior’s face, before she steeled herself once more.

She had always dreamt of standing side by side with her husband, and this sword would prove how close she was to that dream of hers.

She raised the icy blade above her head with both hands. Heavenly Glacial Essence surged into the weapon, and the crystalline blue glow intensified until it was almost too brilliant to look upon directly. The temperature in the frozen domain plunged to a level that would have instantly killed any ordinary Spirit Manifestation cultivator.

Then, with a decisive motion, she swung.

She hurled the sword directly at Rhain.

The icy-blue sword detached from her grip and shot forward like a bolt of lightning, tearing through the air with a piercing shriek.

The killing power concentrated within that single projectile was immense. It carried enough destructive force to cleave through the defensive barriers of an early-stage Core Formation expert.

Any Spirit Manifestation cultivator in its path would have been bisected and frozen solid before their brain could register the danger.

The sword closed the distance in the span of a single heartbeat.

But Rhain did not move.

He could easily dodge that attack, but he knew that Seris wanted to see the true gap between their strength.

So he simply stood there until the glacial blade reached him, mere inches from his face.

Rhain calmly raised his right hand.

Two fingers extended.

Index and middle, pressed together.

Clink.

The Icy sword stopped dead.

Rhain held the blade of concentrated Heavenly Glacial Essence between his two fingers, pinched precisely at its midpoint.

The devastating momentum, the realm-transcending killing power, the absolute zero cold that could freeze a Core Formation expert’s defenses — all of it was negated entirely by the casual pressure of two fingers.

Seris looked at this scene with blank gaze.

She had poured everything into that strike.

And he had caught it with two fingers.

Two fingers.

The disparity was so incomprehensibly vast and absurd that for a long moment, Seris simply could not process it.

Then, slowly, the fierce warrior’s expression on her flawless face crumbled.

Her shoulders slumped.

The silver armor flickered once, dissolving back into wisps of glacial light that faded into the air.

Her aura receded, returning to her natural fifth-level state.

The mighty goddess of ice was gone.

In her place stood a girl with puffed cheeks and narrowed eyes, glaring at her husband with a look of utter dissatisfaction.

"You... you are so unfair!" Seris protested, stamping her foot against the frozen ground with a soft thud. "I...I can never beat you!"

Rhain slowly lowered his hand, releasing the glacial sword which quickly dissolved into a shower of ice crystals.

He closed the distance between them, and looked at her pouting face, flushed cheeks, narrowed eyes, lips pressed into a stubborn line, and couldn’t stop himself from cupping her flushed cheek with gentle fingers.

Rhain let out a warm laugh.

"You are already incredibly powerful, Seris," Rhain said, his thumb gently caressing her flushed cheek. "With that strike alone, you are probably the greatest talent in all of Stormveil City right now."

But Seris wasn’t pleased.

She raised her hand and lightly poked his solid chest.

"I don’t care about others," Seris mumbled, looking down, her voice carrying a trace of vulnerability. "I don’t care about being the best in the city. I just... I just want to be as strong as you. I don’t want to be a burden to you forever, husband."

Rhain caught her hand, his long fingers naturally intertwining with hers as he gently pulled her against his chest.

"You will never be a burden to me, Seris," Rhain spoke softly but firmly.

He lifted her chin, forcing her to look directly into his dark grey eyes.

"And do not think that just because I caught your sword with two fingers, it meant your attack was weak or that it was easy for me. Far from it," Rhain explained, his tone turning serious so she would understand the truth of his words. "To stop that glacial blade, I had to actively circulate my essence and use a considerable amount of my raw physical strength. If a mid-stage Core Formation expert tried to take that strike lightly, they would be severely wounded, if not frozen to death on the spot."

Seris’s pale purple eyes widened a fraction. "Really?"

"Really," Rhain nodded, a fond smile returning to his lips. "Your strength is already closer to mine than ever before. You are catching up faster than you realize."

A faint, teasing smirk then brushed past his lips.

"Besides, even if my combat strength is slightly higher than yours right now, in terms of sheer influence and status, you completely outclass me. After all, you are the only True Heavenly Physique disciple of the Stormveil Academy. You have Vice Dean and High Preceptors practically lining up to pamper you and treat you like royalty."

Hearing his words, the stubborn pout on Seris’s face finally melted away, replaced by a radiant, sweet smile.

But deep down, she knew he was lying.

Influence? Status?

Celestial Elixir Pavilion was currently taking the Inner Province by storm.

With its monopoly on flawless Epic-Grade pills and the backing of the Thunderwood Family, it was already a massive entity second only to the three great Noble Families and the Academy itself.

And given her husband’s unfathomable methods, she had no doubt that it was only a matter of time before his pavilion eclipsed even them, standing at the pinnacle of the Stormveil City.

"Liar," Seris whispered, her eyes shining with affection as she rested her head against his chest. "You are just saying all of that to make me feel good."

Rhain chuckled, wrapping his arms securely around her slender waist.

"I am not lying," he murmured softly into her silver-blue hair. "My beautiful wife is truly amazing!"

Seris didn’t argue further.

She simply closed her eyes, completely melting into his warm embrace, the cold winds of the frozen domain sweeping harmlessly around them.

Normally, Rhain would have returned to his own courtyard in the Inner Palace after spending time with Seris.

But looking at the beautiful wife resting in his arms, the thought of leaving her alone tonight completely vanished from his mind.

With a fluid, effortless motion, Rhain scooped her feather-light body up into his arms.

"Husband?" Seris gasped softly, her cheeks flushing a rosy red as she instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck to steady herself.

"It’s been far too long since we spent a night together!" Rhain whispered, his dark grey eyes deepening with a possesive desire as he carried her toward the inner chambers of the pavilion.

Seris’s flawless face instantly exploded into a burning crimson.

That night, the biting cold of the Core Palace’s frozen domain was entirely dispelled by the burning passion inside the secluded chamber.

Rhain didn’t leave her side for a single second, spending the entire night completely showering his beautiful wife with all his boundless love and affection that he couldn’t for last few weeks.
