Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don't Want to Have Any More Children With You
Vol 9. Chapter 86: Severing the Connection
“Kill the Magic Eye during the missing two seconds?”
Claudia’s gaze shifted slightly.
“Then how exactly do you think Noa killed it? They vanished from real space for two full seconds — something must have happened.”
Leon stared at the final frame, pondered briefly, and spoke in a low voice:
“In my opinion, Noa didn’t use any special technique. She herself said she doesn’t remember the details. But we can deduce it from the nature of the Dragon God’s power and the principle behind the Magic Eye’s immortality.”
He turned to Claudia and continued his analysis.
“The five primordial gods each fulfilled their own role, giving everything for the birth and continuation of the Continent Samael.”
“Chronos maintained the flow and stability of time. Zeus established the elemental magic system. Apollo brought light. Mevis spread wisdom among mortals. And the Dragon God — Tiamat…He directly conceived and created the entire Samael world. Later generations called it ‘the Opening of Heaven.’ So we can interpret the ‘Opening of Heaven’ as... Tiamat created an independent space within nothingness, and that space became the earliest state of the Continent Samael.”
Claudia nodded thoughtfully as she listened.
“Yes… many ancient texts describe it that way. Simply put, the Dragon God achieved the miracle of ‘something from nothing.’”
After a pause she asked:
“But you also said we must combine this with the Magic Eye’s immortality principle. Can you explain that part?”
Leon nodded lightly and continued.
“Both the Magic Eye and Atos achieve immortal body and soul by connecting to the Void. As long as the Void exists, they cannot be killed.”
“But what if… that connection were severed?”
Claudia’s eyes widened slightly. Leon’s words immediately clarified her thoughts, and she followed his reasoning.
“I understand. After obtaining the Dragon God’s power, Noa’s Dragon of Ascension pulled both herself and the Magic Eye into a newly created space. And that space belonged neither to Samael nor to the Void. There, the Magic Eye’s connection to the Void was completely cut off — so Noa… killed it!”
Leon smiled and nodded.
“Exactly. That’s my conclusion.”
In truth, Leon had already considered this during his first battle with Atos.
If immortality depended on a connection to the Void, then there must exist a method to sever that connection and remove immortality.
But for many years he had never found a way.
During the Academy’s imprisonment and research on the Magic Eye, they also investigated this problem — but if Leon couldn’t find it, the Academy certainly couldn’t either.
Now, however, Noa possessed the Dragon God’s power.
A power capable of “creating heaven and earth.” If a target were dragged into a newly created space formed by that power, its connection to the Void would be severed.
Which meant…
Leon had finally found a way to defeat Atos.
“But I still don’t understand one thing,” Claudia said quietly.
“If creating an isolated space severs the connection to the Void, then why do both Magic Eye and Atos remain immortal after arriving in Samael? Isn’t Samael itself a completely different space from the Void? Why didn’t that cut the connection?”
Leon pressed his lips together, thought briefly, then replied:
“I think it’s because the Void invaded Samael at least twice before — once through the chaotic power during the Dragon God’s creation, and once when Atos descended. The breaches opened during those invasions became the Void Gates suppressed by divine power. Even if the Void Gates prevent entities like Atos and other Void creatures from entering freely, they cannot erase the connection already formed between the two worlds. So after coming to Samael, both Atos and the Magic Eye still retained immortality.”
His meaning was simple.
The Void Gates could block physical invasions — Atos, Void beasts, and Void swarm insects.
But the ‘connection’ between worlds was an abstract concept, not something the gates could sever.
Claudia suddenly understood.
“But the new space Noa created with the Dragon God’s power is completely independent — connected neither to Samael nor the Void. So the Magic Eye lost its immortality there and was killed.”
“Exactly.” Leon nodded.
After discussion, the conclusion made even normally calm Claudia visibly excited.
“Leon… then in the near future we can truly defeat the Void — and Atos.”
Leon remained cautious. He lowered his gaze and stayed silent for a moment before replying:
“This is indeed the method. But Noa said the Dragon God’s power is like a seed — it must be cultivated slowly before it grows. Judging by Aurora’s mastery of time power, Noa will need at least three to five years before she can open an independent space again.”
Claudia folded her arms.
“…So it won’t be that simple.”
Leon stretched and exhaled.
“But regardless, as more divine powers are mastered, we’re no longer as passive as before. That’s good.”
Claudia snorted softly.
“So when are you going to the Hall of Valor to complete your half-baked divinity?”
“Going there isn’t hard. Coming back is,” Leon said as he turned and walked toward the exit, waving over his shoulder. “I’ll go stay with Noa. Contact me if anything happens.”
“Alright.”
After he left, Claudia looked out into the deep night beyond the window.
Lost in thought, she murmured:
“Besides Zeus… only the power of wisdom remains. How will that power return to the world?”
