Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure
Chapter 2476: Acclimation (1)
"So there was something like this."
As expected, Max was very interested in this case.
It was something that he had never encountered before and at the same time, it was a case where it was quite confusing since it only worked one way and not the other.
The fact that only the cultivators went into shock when they entered a space devoid of spiritual energy meant that it wasn’t just the fact that the different worlds didn’t have the energy of the other world.
It meant that there was something special about the cultivators that made them like this.
If one had to guess, it was most likely something about their cultivation techniques that created this situation.
The cultivation techniques had changed their bodies in some way that made them dependent on spiritual energy.
Or that was the working theory that Max had so far.
It was just that he wasn’t able to confirm this since he wasn’t able to test this with any of the cultivators that had collapsed. The only thing that he was allowed to do was help with checking their condition, he hadn’t been allowed to treat them at all.
Of course, it would have been strange if they actually allowed him to do anything with the look that was on his face. Even those that already knew him knew that he didn’t have any good intentions when this look was on his face.
The way that he looked at the cultivators was almost like how a scientist looked at experiment subjects.
But in the end, the cultivators weren’t able to figure out what the problem was.
It was their first time encountering mana, so it wasn’t as if they knew much about it. At the same time, it wasn’t as if they could figure out what it was about their own cultivation techniques that was causing this.
This was completely new territory for them, so it wasn’t as if there was anything for them to draw on.
During this time, Max hadn’t been idle.
From the side, he kept chipping in a few words while they were looking over the cultivators that had collapsed from the shock. The looks on the faces of the alchemists were enough to show what they thought of his words.
At the same time, it was clear that he was slowly winning them over with his knowledge.
There was even a point where they looked at Max with shock as if they couldn’t believe what he was saying. After all, he should have been in the same position as them, he shouldn’t have been able to figure out all of these things on his own.
Yet it really seemed like he was on a different level compared to them.
That was just how much of a genius Max was and it was that genius that made the alchemist give a proposal which the cultivators that suffered from the shock didn’t like.
"We want him to help us."
Everyone looked at the alchemists with strange looks when they made this proposal.
The ones that were against this the most were naturally the cultivators that were the patients. They could still remember the way that Max had looked at them and it was still something that sent shivers down their spine.
But with how fervently the alchemists proposed this, it really seemed like they had no choice but to accept it in the end.
Especially after Max made a discovery that blew everything open.
"So the spirit stones contain spiritual energy and it can be released with this magic artifact."
Max was someone that wasn’t restricted by anything, so the ideas that he came up with were sometimes so far outside the box that it was a bit hard to believe.
In this case, the idea that he came up with was to mix the spirit stones that contained spiritual energy with a magic artifact that would release mana.
This magic artifact was used to create zones of mana that would be used for either crafting items or growing special magic plants. So it wasn’t something that was quite niche as it wasn’t something that most people would use.
But in the end, it actually worked.
With this magic artifact, he was able to create a zone of spiritual energy in a certain area.
As long as the spirit stones were changed out when they ran out of spiritual energy, then that zone of spiritual energy wouldn’t break. This was something that was even tested on the surface.
Even when surrounded in mana, the artifact could create a zone that was filled with spiritual energy.
With this, it should technically be possible for the cultivators to go to the surface. But no one was in a rush to do this since there was no telling if it would actually work.
At the same time, there was no need to risk anyone’s lives to do this.
Which was why Max was allowed to do what he wanted with the cultivators that were there as patients. It was all in the name of helping them get better and help them adapt so they could go to the surface again.
At first it seemed like the cultivators weren’t happy about having Max attend to them, but they soon found that they recovered much faster with him there. Even though they certainly didn’t like the way that he treated them.
At the same time, they weren’t thrilled about all of the extra tests that he ran on them.
But there was no denying the effects of his treatment.
It went far beyond what the alchemists of the various sects could do.
However, it wasn’t as if Max was simply treating them.
He was also figuring out what was causing their bodies to react like this.
After a long period of testing, he was finally able to figure it out.
"It’s because cultivators have one extra thing in their bodies that we don’t have, that is what is causing them to react like this."
