Chapter 91 - Intense Stare
Klautz took out his sword and with a diagonal slash he aimed at the zombie's head.
*swish*
Its head split into two but that was not enough to stop them!
"What?" Klautz was caught by surprise. He blinked rapidly as if he was having a hard time believing what he saw!
Undead in Hell had all a common weakness, they died as soon as you burst their head. But unfortunately the ones here had no such weaknesses. It was all a huge mess!
Klautz tried to recollect his thoughts as his pupils shook left and right. He looked at his own reflection in the rippling waters as he ducked his head low in thought.
'Wait, isn't this…'
Klautz had a certain recollection from his past life. Undead that didn't die even when their head was slashed open? That could only mean one thing that they were not undead at all!
With another swing, Klautz slashed open its torso.
*slash*
The abdomen separated from the torso of the undead and the undead fell to the mangrove waters. This was different… a zombie should be moving even after it is cut in half.
*splash*
"That's it!" Klautz smacked his palm with his fist. He took a look at the sky before he brought his attention back to the zombies.
Klautz had fought with these kinds before. His past life memories flashed across his eyes. There was an enemy he faced who could conjure such zombies. Killing him was the only good karma Klautz had to his name.
"Armand! But… he shouldn't be here now."
Armand was the lunatic puppeteer Klautz knew of. But he should be appearing in Hell a year from now. He was at the top in Klautz's kill list.
Klautz turned towards Verona who was behind him shuddering in fright.
"Verona! What are you doing? Stop these puppets!" Klautz roared. Klautz's thundering voice made Verona squeak like a mouse all the more as she curled her body even further.
"Stop them? How can I do that? I hardly ran away with my life!" She complained as she remembered the series of events that led her to this. It was a mess one after another.
Klautz rubbed his forehead in frustration while the zombies were roaring at high pitches.
"Screech!"
Klautz finally understood the situation. Verona had no control over her powers, she had conjured a score of puppets without even realizing it and kept running away from them when she thought that they were after her life when all they did was follow their master.
Verona was more of a greenhorn than Klautz had thought!
Klautz held onto Verona's shoulder with a firm grip and shook her awake.
"Listen Verona , imagine… try to imagine them as your puppets and then imagine them stopping in their tracks. Close your eyes and imagine, forget about everything else."
Satan does grant classes to its participants but that doesn't mean that everyone can make the best of it. This isn't some kind of game where pressing one button will execute a move. One should have a certain understanding of what they are doing to actually execute a skill they have obtained. This is what the people of hell refer to as 'innate talent' towards a class.
While some can understand it by instinct there were others like Verona who couldn't.
When Klautz had first appeared in hell. He was judged to have the talent to be a ninja. If that is the case then Klautz is walking the path of ruin, none of his classes or skills have anything to do with 'shinobi'. But does Klautz care?
'In this life, I am no ninja. I will do things my way.' That was his resolve no matter how hard things get. He hated the job he used to do before.
Verona nodded at Klautz advice. She closed her eyes. Her long and curvy eyelashes flaunted her feminine charms.
And Klautz turned back to the undead brandishing his sword. There were too many of them, but they were not stronger than an average human. If Verona fails in her endeavor, Klautz can always destroy all of her puppets one by one.
*Swish*
"One," Klautz whispered as he sliced one of the puppets in half.
*swish*
"Two," Klautz whispered but there came no three as all of those puppets stopped in their tracks.
*splash* *splash* *Splash*
All of them fell motionlessly as their body went limp to make several ripples on the swamp waters below.
Verona was successful. She opened her eyes to find out what happened only to find that it had all ended.
*sigh*
She took a sigh of relief as she fell to her knees.
*splash*
"Ha… ha," She was finally able to catch her breath after a long run. Her tensed muscles finally loosened as adrenaline began to disappear from her system.
Klautz stared at her, taking long and deep breaths. Her breasts heaving up and down, the water around had almost made her clothes see-through.
Klautz felt a tingling sensation but he ignored it.
'So she can indeed use the puppeteer class,' Klautz rubbed his chin. It was a class that many would drool for. Klautz pondered as he considered having Verona on his side. With her personality and her class she would be used by others sooner or later so isn't it better if Klautz used her himself? At least Klautz would be able to lead her to be a capable warrior.
At this point, Klautz had forgot that he himself was no great leader. As of now his expertise lies in being a 'ninja'.
His intense stare caused Selena to swap her gaze between Verona and Klautz and then to her own breasts. She bit her lips.
She had always felt jealous of Verona. Verona had more prominent curves than her, especially in the chest department.
