Shinobi From Hell

Chapter 260 - Fight!

"Judging by its weight its… 1000. Oh fuck"

Gold was found as a raw material abundant in hell due to the treasure chests at the trial sites. But Gold itself wasn't the raw material, rather it was the gold coins.

And all gold coins no matter collected from which trial had a uniform weight and shape. It was as if someone had 3D printed them and were trying to scam them.

Of course, it wasn't true gold either. 100% pure gold would have been too soft to be molded into coins. But the composition of the gold alloy itself had always been found fixed no matter the source of the coin.

Thus, some people like Klautz who had lived decades in hell working with coins could count the number of coins just by judging it from the external weight.

One must note that Klautz hadn't even opened the pouch to dictate its contents. Just the sound of chunking coins and their weight was enough.

But Colt wasn't aware of that.

Colt nodded. After all, he had declared the 1000 coin scheme loud and clear for everyone to hear. He didn't found Klautz's sudden slip of the tongue as suspicious.

"As I promised to you before. I paid you 1000 gold in advance for participating."

Klautz ears twitched at the cold words from Colt.

'What is he paying too? No. Now that I think about it, it does make sense.'

It didn't take much time for Klautz to figure out the whole picture just from the few words from Colt.

"So that's why…"

'Is there a post service payment too?' Klautz wanted to ask but he bit on his own words lest he would get caught. Colt had no idea that Klautz wasn't even present at the stadium during his declaration.

But the more that Klautz realized it, the more did his lips arch into a smile.

'On which side of the bed have I woken up today?' Klautz chuckled. 'Oh wait! I hadn't slept in the first place. I was dealing with the ninjas of Kishiogakure.'

The morning came with blissful surprises for Klautz. Never before in hell, he had considered himself as lucky as today.

It was like fate had always betrayed him and caused him to be on his guard at all times. He quite envied those heroes from stories and tales who seem to have their whole life endowed with fortuitous encounters even though they themselves had no brains but only brawls.

Klautz could only look back to the misfortunes he had faced despite his meticulous calculations.

Klautz tried to get a puppeteer and did everything in his power and brains for it, but bad luck ended up giving him something else instead.

He tried to keep his identity and skills hidden as much as possible even to the point of controlling his innate martial arts movements, yet bad luck chose to have him exposed to Akihiko.

He tried to stay away from the ninjas as much as possible before he got enough strength to destroy them, but bad luck seemed to not like that as well.

But today luck had chosen to shine upon Klautz causing him to bloom into smiles. Or so was what he had thought until things had started going south.

Klautz stashed away his gold as the chunking of gold brought him back to reality. The host of the battle checked up on both sides and nodded.

"Fight!" the host screamed, swinging his arm between them as if clearing the air.

Colt reacted quickly to the signal, but Klautz just lazily loafed around.

'Let's play around a bit. It's actually a good opportunity to study the second gen of this time, isn't it? Maybe I would get some good insights on them for my future plans?'

Klautz was aware that the newbies and the second gen are going to be together for a long time. As such Klautz was making the best of the opportunity.

One must note that the only mission the ninjas took from the second gen in Klautz's previous life was to aid them in their fast grinding. It was in the same manner that Maebi had helped Klautz. And such a service only came into effect after Maebi had risen to the position of the Kage.

Hell, most of the second gen of this time didn't even know about the existence of the ninjas.

As such the information that Klautz had on this particular generation was fairly limited. It was a generation that had appeared far before Maebi could even finish her training.

Klautz took out a weapon from his inventory. Unlike Tossias's Demonic Spirit which he always used for his battles, it was the [Star Dagger] instead. Klautz wanted to keep a card or two hidden for now.

'It's on a cooldown too.'

The active skill on the [Star Dagger] which was [Ignore Defence] was on a large cooldown. Klautz had just used the skill early in the morning to kill the representative of the Kishiogakure and it would take some time before it came back to effect.

As such the dagger in Klautz's hands at the moment was no different than a crude dagger!

Colt charged straight ahead at Klautz. Watching him come towards him, Klautz spun around and stabbed the dagger in a vertical motion aiming for his very heart.

Klautz's dominant hand swung the dagger holding onto its hilt. While his left hand pushed the same from its back creating the perfect stabbing technique packing a lot of force. Or so was what Colt had assumed to happen.

*swish*

Klautz didn't apply much force into his attack but the charging momentum of Colt who came at his full speed should have been enough to send him to Styx's way. Not to mention that his technique was tending to perfection despite his constrained muscles. But…
