Chapter 182 - The Vallet
Her eyes squinted as she followed Klautz's every move. She was having a strange sort of obsession in regards to him.
She was trying to discern what sort of cheat he was using. Yet she wasn't able to figure out much. He just appeared to be extremely refined of his craft. All of her focus had amounted to nothing.
"Hiss!"
Klautz attacked the back of the serpent's hood again. He was attacking it time and time again at the same place to deal some real damage all the while dodging all of its attacks!
The [Ice Serpent] attacked by charging at its foe all the while opening its mouth wide to sink its teeth on Klautz. But every time it did so Klautz leapt to the side or above.
While it wasn't evident, the beast was actually slightly slower than Klautz. Added with the fact that Klautz had already fought with this beast many times in his past life. He knew of its attack patterns and also how to dodge them.
"Hiss!" The serpent leapt on Klautz again.
Klautz jumped above and landed on its back.
Klautz got on top of its back, crushing it under his weight as he stabbed it repeatedly in the same place making it bleed crimson blood.
"Hiss!" It wallowed in pain.
But it was at the outskirts of its area. None of its brothers would risk coming out to aid it in its life and death struggle. It regretted ever coming out of its dam as death was now looming on top of its head.
"Die! Die!" Klautz screamed as the scales chipped away and his sword pierced its flesh. The serpent twisted and churned to get Klautz off its back but to no avail. Klautz legs had wrapped onto its long neck super tight!
"Hiss!" With a dying scream, the snake's eyes rolled as it collapsed onto the snow.
*thud*
Snakes were supposed to be cold blooded reptiles. They shouldn't even exist in such a snowy biome in the first place! But hell doesn't follow such rules.
Here was Klautz, fighting a giant serpent in a place below zero degrees. Many things that would have been considered impossible otherwise were possible in hell!
[Strength +1]
With the defeat of the first beast, it was proved that Klautz was going to get quite the strength boost here. As long as he doesn't die. Fighting a monster equivalent in strength to himself made the probabilities of a stat drop extremely high!
"Ha… Ha," Klautz took deep breaths.
But alas it was hugely taxing as well. Who knew how long Klautz would be able to continue?
"Only time will tell."
Klautz was the only one who had defied the essence of the moving time. He had done it once but alas he can't do it every day. He is bound by its laws.

"This is slow," Maebi complained.
She sighed as her eyes fell on the white snow below. The acres of snowy lands were as monotonous as this mission of hers. Indeed she was just a trainee and didn't have the patience of a ninja. Her mind was yet to be honed.
At first, she was only stuck in awe of Klautz strength and brilliance. That still remained in his consecutive fight as he found more and more [Ice Serpents] to kill. He was as cool as he could be.
Then as they went further inside Klautz had to fight two of them at the same time. Through many difficulties, Klautz was able to defeat two such groups. The battles were long and hard, making Maebi click her tongue as she waited.
In the end, Klautz was able to kill them all. He had to be at his guard at all times.
But after that, he was unable to even walk.
He cracked open a stamina potion.
*Gulp* *Gulp*
"So 1 potion is worth 16 of them. Huh?"
That was the number of such beasts Klautz had slain. He made sure to stay in the area of the serpents since they were the only ones who didn't use any magical attacks!
"Well, most of the time they don't use Ice Breath."
Klautz himself knew that his estimation of 1 potion = 16 beasts was rather flawed. Klautz had to run a long distance to arrive at the [Ice Post]. So much of running had chipped away his stamina.
"Then again, I have fought them two at a time at most."
Klautz knew that the further inside he goes the riskier things get. But efficient hunting can only be done inside.
And as if to cater to his wish three of such beasts popped up out of nowhere. They had come to take their revenge. They had come in response to their brother's death calls.
"His!!"
"Hiss!"
*Gulp*
Klautz wasn't hoping to face three of them so soon. He was struggling fighting but two of them. How could he fight three?
In a normal scenario, he would have run away with his tails in between his legs. But he didn't need to.
Klautz smirked.
'You should be able to handle this much… Maebi.'
Without worrying about anything he plunged among the beasts to fight them gallantly. As the adrenaline kicked in he was having a different kind of high.
The thought of his life being at the edge of the knife caused him to fight more ferociously.
One of the serpents flew towards him from his blind spot.
It didn't really matter if it was in Klautz's blind spot or not. Klautz had eyes even on his back! Klautz had deduced its presence before it could even attack. But that didn't mean Klautz could dodge it!
'Damn I can't move.'
He was already blocking two of the snakes. One with his sword the other with his bare hand!
Maebi noticed this too. Her eyes shot out wide as she got a calling of her responsibilities.
*swish*
She took out her ninjato and leapt into the fight.
*Clash*
