Shadows of the Deep Space

Chapter 1643 530: Eerie (Part 3)

“How is the progress in the battlefield search and rescue, and the cleanup of the spoils?”

Sigurd asked.

“It still needs a bit more time.”

Qian Lin replied to Sigurd.

“Roughly how long? Although we pushed back the Dark Star Empire, there’s no guarantee they won’t send reinforcements and return, which would be troublesome.”

Su Ming reminded Qian Lin and others.

“Su Ming is right, if there are spoils we really can’t take, just abandon them.”

Sigurd told Qian Lin and others.

“Understood, we have already abandoned the large spoils, and now we’re focused on the rescue. Quite a few ships of Sky Dome City have been sunk, and there are survivors inside these sunken ships, making the rescue difficult. But give us three more hours, we’ll definitely finish.”

Qian Lin calculated the time and said.

“Then we’ll evacuate after three hours!”

Su Ming nodded slightly and said.

“That’s decided then.”

Sigurd and the others then cut off communication.

Su Ming watched as the virtual avatars on the virtual screen dimmed one by one, suddenly realizing that Admiral Ames was absent from the meeting.

His expression changed slightly, and he checked the identity information of the generals in the meeting, quickly finding Admiral Simanken of the First Legion.

Cosmic Headquarters had sent him to lead the support to the Mist Star Sea.

Su Ming immediately sent him a communication request.

Soon, the image of an old man dressed in a general uniform with white hair, a face full of black spots, and deeply sunken eyes appeared before Su Ming.

“General Su Ming, is there something you need from me?”

Simanken looked at Su Ming with curiosity and asked.

“General Simanken, may I ask you something?”

Su Ming asked politely.

“Of course, feel free to ask whatever you want.”

Simanken replied with a smile.

“I remember Admiral Ames seems to have also been involved in supporting the Mist Star Sea, why haven’t I seen him?”

Su Ming asked curiously.

Upon hearing Su Ming’s inquiry, Admiral Simanken’s smile instantly faded, and he spoke in a grave tone to Su Ming.

“General Su Ming, Admiral Ames is missing.”

“Missing?”

Su Ming was full of shock upon hearing Simanken’s words.

If it were a matter of being killed in battle, Su Ming wouldn’t be so surprised, but missing was unexpected.

“That’s right, General Su Ming, you should know that the battles here in the Mist Star Sea with the Dark Star Empire have been fierce in recent years, and we’ve been on the losing side all along. That’s why Cosmic Army Headquarters sent us as reinforcements. But since we arrived, the situation hasn’t improved, with numerous battles erupting around various mine points. And just two months ago, our ships were besieged by the Imperial Army. During the breakout, Admiral Ames’s ship, in order to cover the main fleet’s evacuation, deviated from the route and entered deep into the Mist Star Sea, thus going missing.”

Admiral Simanken sighed and said.

“Ah, General Simanken, can you tell me the coordinates of their disappearance and in which direction they broke through?”

Upon hearing Admiral Simanken’s words, Su Ming also felt somewhat complicated; Admiral Ames went missing, so Lin Chuyu, who followed him, naturally went missing too. No wonder her presence wasn’t seen in this support operation.

“No problem.”

General Simanken raised his wristband, retrieved the data, and sent it to Su Ming.

“Thank you.”

Su Ming thanked General Simanken.

“You’re welcome. I’ll hang up now.”

After saying that, General Simanken disconnected the communication.

Su Ming let out a slight sigh and gazed into the distant starry sky, his expression somewhat melancholic.

“Boss, what’s going on?”

At this moment, Ankaga entered the central control room. Seeing Su Ming standing pensively on the viewing platform, he approached Rhein and asked softly.

“Admiral Ames is missing.”

“Huh? Missing, well that’s inevitable, but the boss is really overreacting?”

Ankaga scratched his head and said.

“Are you dumb? Lin Chuyu is under Ames’s command.”

“Oh my!”

“Shh! Keep it down.”

Rhein whispered in annoyance.

Ankaga immediately shut his mouth.

Time slowly passed.

Little Grey yawned lazily in Su Ming’s arms.

Su Ming patted Little Grey’s head and suddenly asked with a move of his heart,

“Little Grey, do these mists affect you?”

“Squeak squeak~”

Little Grey raised its head to look at the distant mist, shook its head, and squeaked.

In its eyes, those white mists only slightly obstructed its sight and didn’t have a significant impact.

Su Ming’s eyes lit up, and he immediately asked.

“Little Grey, if I were to ask you to lead the way into Mist Star to find Lin Chuyu, can you do it?”

Su Ming confirmed again.

“Squeak squeak!”

Little Grey nodded vigorously.

Upon hearing this, Su Ming carried Little Grey off the viewing platform.

Seeing this, Rhein and the others smiled and asked.

“Boss, are we going to return now?”

“No, I plan to head deep into the Mist Star Sea to search for the missing Admiral Ames and Lin Chuyu.”

Su Ming told Rhein and the others.

“What? Su Ming, don’t joke around, that’s the Mist Star Sea!”

Celeste said in surprise.

“I know, but don’t worry, with Little Grey here, it will guide us.”

Su Ming assured everyone.

“Squeak squeak!”

Little Grey confidently patted its chest and squeaked to everyone.

“Alright then!”

Celeste replied reluctantly.

Su Ming looked at Rhein and the others and asked.

“Rhein, are any of you afraid? If anyone doesn’t want to go, you can take other ships and return to the Federation first.”

“Afraid of nothing, boss, we’ll go where you want us to go.”
