Chapter 37: Chapter 37: What Do You Mean? To Kill You, Of Course.

Si Muye was already tense and on guard. Just as the sharp dagger was about to pierce his chest, he shot his fist out to block the blow.

He snatched the man’s wrist, his eyes narrowing.

"Brother, what is the meaning of this?"

The man froze, shocked that Si Muye had seen through his scheme.

His expression immediately darkened. Dropping the act, his tone shifted entirely.

"To think that after so many years, you’ve become so wary of your own brother. I must say, I’m surprised, Third Brother!"

With that, he twisted his wrist and struck out with his palm, breaking free from Si Muye’s grasp.

He spun the dagger around and lunged at him again.

"What’s the meaning? I’m here to take your life, of course!"

Si Muye’s eyes widened. ’I can’t believe it... A Yue was right all along!’

’She predicted this exactly!’

He had no time to overthink it. He threw himself backward, dodging the fatal blow.

But this only invited an even more ferocious assault from the man.

Si Muye didn’t dare let his guard down. After all, this man knew his fighting style inside and out, having watched him train since they were children.

To stay alive, he stopped fighting in his usual manner.

He threw a feint, then instantly followed with a flying kick.

The man hadn’t expected the change in tactics. Caught off guard, he took the full force of the kick and staggered back several steps.

A pained look filled Si Muye’s eyes as he stared at him.

"Why?"

’Why does he want to kill me?’

Helian steadied himself, his eyes filled with malice. He sneered.

"For the Patriarch’s seat, of course. Did you really think I cared about our ’deep brotherly bond’?"

As he spoke, Helian wiped a trickle of blood from the corner of his mouth.

"It seems your spiritual power hasn’t just recovered, it’s actually improved. In that case, I have all the more reason not to let you leave here alive!"

He shot a look at his surrounding men.

"What are you waiting for? Kill him!"

"Yes!"

At once, all of them swarmed Si Muye.

This was no longer a test of his strength. They were fighting to kill, leaving him no room to escape, each blow aimed to be fatal.

Si Muye was fighting one against ten. These men from the Ancient Bear Family all had high spiritual power, around A level, and they were all warriors with meticulously honed combat skills.

Therefore, even when fighting with his full spiritual power, the prolonged, grueling battle was beginning to take its toll on Si Muye.

As time ticked by, the surrounding forest was left in a state of utter ruin.

And still, Si Muye fought on desperately.

"Third Brother, even if you’ve recovered your health and spiritual power, you’re still facing ten of the Ancient Bear Family’s finest warriors. Let’s see how long you can hold out!"

Seeing Si Muye’s movements slow, Helian’s lips curved into a triumphant smirk.

Si Muye was indeed nearing exhaustion, but Helian’s words caused a surge of energy to flare up around him, his gaze hardening with resolve.

His attacks turned vicious. Unleashing a sudden, astonishing burst of power, he slammed his fist into a warrior’s head.

The man flew several meters through the air before crashing heavily to the ground.

’I won’t let Helian get his way.’

’I have to get back to A Yue.’

’I can’t let Helian kill me here.’

The surrounding warriors were unnerved by his sudden burst of ferocity and exchanged uneasy glances.

None of them had expected it. After such a long and grueling fight, despite the numerous injuries he had sustained, how could Si Muye still unleash such astonishing power?

Helian, watching from the side, narrowed his eyes. He clearly hadn’t expected this either. He stared suspiciously at Si Muye. Years ago, Si Muye’s body had been damaged, causing his spiritual power to degrade significantly.

It was a known fact that spiritual power degradation caused by physical injury was incredibly difficult to reverse.

Not even an S Class Healing Doctor could manage it, much less restore degraded spiritual power and then raise it by an entire tier.

If he wasn’t mistaken, Si Muye’s spiritual power had likely already surpassed the S+ level and seemed on the verge of breaking through it.

He couldn’t help but wonder if Si Muye had met someone who had not only healed his body but also enhanced his spiritual power.

「Meanwhile, with Shen Yue.」

She waited for a long time, but Si Muye still hadn’t returned. Looking at her sleeping children, she prepared to get up and check outside the cave.

But just then, her vision went black. After a wave of dizziness, another image appeared in her mind.

She saw a group of incredibly fast people charging through the mountain forest, heading straight for her.

They moved at a blistering pace, like predators that had locked onto their prey and were closing in for the kill.

And at that moment, the group was just a few kilometers away from her.

At their current pace, they would reach her cave in less than ten minutes.

Her heart leaped in alarm. As her vision cleared, a terrible premonition washed over her.

She looked at her well-behaved cubs sleeping beside her and fought to suppress her rising panic, her mind racing to find a solution.

’I saw it again!’

She was now completely convinced. She could not only foresee future dangers in her dreams, but could also see imminent threats while she was awake.

She forced herself to regulate her breathing. ’Si Muye isn’t here, and I have no idea what’s happened to him. Did he listen to my warning? Is he even alive?’

’Right now, there’s no one to protect me.’

’Even though males in the Beast World aren’t supposed to harm females, there’s no guarantee that some ruthless characters wouldn’t stoop to killing a female and her cubs.’

’And even though I couldn’t make out their faces, I could tell by instinct that this was the same group of people from my vision—the ones who were looking for Si Muye.’

’If they actually make it here... judging by their aggressive approach, they’re clearly not here to make friends. They might even use me to threaten Si Muye.’

Her mind raced. To keep her children out of danger and avoid the worst possible outcome, she had to take a gamble.

She walked over to her cubs and looked down at Er Bao, who was sleeping soundly. She hesitated for a moment.

But in the end, she knelt and gently woke him.

Er Bao opened his bleary, misty eyes, looking impossibly soft and cute.

"Female mother, what’s wrong? Er Bao is still sleepy..."

Shen Yue put a finger to her lips.

"Shh. Be a good boy, Er Bao. How would you like to go on an adventure with your female mother?"

At the word "adventure," half of Er Bao’s sleepiness vanished.

"Okay! Er Bao wants to go on an adventure!"

Shen Yue picked up Er Bao and glanced back at the other five cubs. After a moment’s thought, she woke up Dabao and Sanbao as well, gave them a "game" to play, and then left with Er Bao in her arms.

Moving with incredible speed, she ran with Er Bao in the direction opposite the cave.

The woods were thick with undergrowth, but to escape the coming danger—to win her gamble—Shen Yue ran as if her life depended on it.

From the shadows, Mu Silin had already sensed the aggressive group approaching. But at this critical juncture, Shen Yue was running in the opposite direction, carrying his son.

He frowned. ’What is that woman doing?’

’Doesn’t she know how dangerous it is to be out right now?’

After a moment’s thought, he followed her.

Meanwhile, also in the shadows, Huang Ziyue watched Shen Yue leave with the Black Panther cub, his gaze shifting back toward the cave.

’His son and the other cubs are still in the cave, and she just ran off?’

He hesitated for a long moment but ultimately remained where he was.

A short while later, Dabao and Sanbao crawled out to the mouth of the cave, where they lay down with a small branch.

"Female mother said that after we finish counting all the leaves on this branch, we can take our little brothers to play hide-and-seek!"

Dabao finished, then looked at Sanbao.

"Sanbao, let’s count them together!"

Sanbao’s little face looked even colder than usual from being woken up, but since Shen Yue had told them to, he nodded.

"Okay."

And so, the two little ones began to count.

Shen Yue, meanwhile, ran frantically, covering the distance of about one whole hill.

Her vision went black again, and another image appeared before her eyes. She saw the danger, now just a kilometer or so away.

She saw the group, which had been charging toward the cave, suddenly halt in the jungle as if reorienting themselves.

A few seconds later, they abruptly changed direction and began racing toward her current location.
