Chapter 312 - 310: Undersea Queen
Chapter 312: Chapter 310: Undersea Queen
The group left Barbaric City.
As they left, Kaiya stood at the city gates with all the citizens to see them off.
Cries of "Come back soon!" followed them, carried on the wind, long and earnest.
Shen Yue didn’t look back. She just clenched her fists, knowing that every moment of delay was a gamble with Xi Xi’s life.
The moment they were outside the city, Huang Ziyue immediately transformed into his beast form. A Flood Dragon covered in Dark Red Scale Armor soared into the sky, its scales gleaming under the sun with a terrifying pressure.
Its enormous body steadily carried Shen Yue and the children. With a flick of its tail, the Flood Dragon shot toward the coast like a bolt of lightning.
Bai Chaosi, Mu Silin, Ye Lüqi, Gu Fangqi, Si Muye, and Yun Lie Ting followed close behind.
They all channeled their spiritual power, transforming into six afterimages as they gave chase. Covered in dust from their travels, they didn’t dare to rest for even a moment.
It was Shen Yue’s first time riding a Flood Dragon. The children, sitting on Huang Ziyue’s back, were understandably a little nervous.
Watching Barbaric City shrink into the distance below, they all huddled in Shen Yue’s arms.
"Female mother, we’ll find little sister and come back soon, right?"
"Female mother, when we come back, will the seeds in Barbaric City have sprouted?"
"Female mother, what’s wrong with little sister? Si Bao is worried about her!"
"Female mother, will the Sea Clan people be fierce? What do they look like?"
The barrage of uncertain questions left Shen Yue unsure of which to answer first.
So, high up in the sky, she could only answer them patiently, one by one.
She knew the little cubs were scared.
Scared of the Sea Clan people they had never met, and scared of the unfamiliar environment they were about to face.
Most of all, they were terrified something would happen to their little sister.
Truthfully, she hadn’t wanted to bring them, but there was a reason they had to come.
After a full day of racing forward, the land beneath them gradually gave way to an endless expanse of blue.
At last, they arrived at the shore of Luoshi Sea.
The salty sea breeze hit their faces. Several Water Beasts were already waiting by the shore—Spirit Fin Sharks.
Their bodies were long and slender like blades, shimmering with a silver-blue light. Their dorsal fins radiated a chilling glint, and beneath their bellies grew four fins as thin as a cicada’s wings.
When moving at high speed, they emitted a faint fluorescent glow, allowing them to easily slice through undercurrents and reefs. Their carapaces were broad and stable.
They were the perfect mounts for crossing the reef-filled sea area.
The children were amazed; it was their first time seeing a sea beast.
Everyone stepped onto the Water Beasts. The giant creatures slowly sank beneath the surface, heading toward the Deep Sea.
The atmosphere on the way was terrifyingly grim.
No one spoke much. There was only the soft sound of surging seawater. Everyone’s heart was heavy with worry for Xi Xi.
After traveling for two days and two nights at sea, they finally reached the location of the Gate to the Sea Clan.
The Sea Clan messenger stationed there had been waiting for a long time. Seeing the Flood Dragon King arrive with Shen Yue’s party, he immediately bowed excitedly.
He didn’t dare to delay for even a second.
He then led them through the Sea Realm’s passage, which glowed with an iridescent blue spiritual light, straight toward the Undersea Palace.
Beyond the passage lay a true secret realm of the Deep Sea.
Dazzling coral swayed brilliantly in the water—clusters of red, blue, and pink.
Schools of fluorescent fish darted among them, their shimmering colors creating a dreamlike, fantastical scene.
But with their hearts heavy with worry for Xi Xi, not one person in Shen Yue’s group was in the mood to admire the magnificent undersea view.
Their eyes remained fixed on the messenger as they hurried toward the depths of the Royal Palace.
Huang Ziyue quietly released his imposing aura, forming an invisible barrier that protected Shen Yue and the children in the center.
After all, this wasn’t the territory of the Land Beast Clan. There was no telling what dangers lurked beneath the sea.
The closer they got to the Mermaid Palace, the thicker the air of grief became.
The Royal Palace guards passing by all had solemn expressions, their heads bowed in silence. The entire palace was shrouded in a gloom that refused to dissipate.
「Meanwhile, in the inner hall of the Royal Palace」 By the coral bed, the Mermaid Queen was beside herself with anxiety.
Her aquamarine ceremonial robes were in disarray, and her once-exquisite face looked haggard.
Her eyes were red, swollen, and bloodshot. She hadn’t slept for three days and three nights, remaining by Xi Xi’s bedside without leaving for a moment.
Again and again, she used her Spiritual Power to probe her granddaughter’s life force. Her fingertips trembled uncontrollably as silent tears fell onto Xi Xi’s pale little face.
Just then, the Mermaid King entered the bedchamber again with the Sea Witch.
Looking at Xi Xi on the bed, the Mermaid King spoke immediately.
"Sea Witch, please, think of another way! The Princess has fallen into a deep slumber, and Cang Yue has gone to Sea Cliff Nu and vanished without a trace. What can I do to save my granddaughter and bring Cang Yue back?"
The Sea Witch stood by the bed, his ancient brow furrowed. He shook his head.
"Your Majesty, this is a divine oracle. It is not something I can stop. Prince Cangyue never should have entered Sea Cliff Nu. Once someone enters, no one can bring them out."
"Furthermore, the Black Sea has awakened and is spreading rapidly. Has Your Majesty forgotten? Only by exchanging the Princess’s soul can we stop this disaster and save the Sea Clan!"
The Queen listened, her heart aching.
"But Xi Xi is so young! The life and death of the Sea Clan people should not be her burden to bear... Sea Witch, is there really no other way?"
The scepter in the Sea Witch’s hand slowly struck the floor with a crisp sound.
His deep, heavy voice echoed in the palace hall.
"This is a divine oracle. I am powerless to change it. The Princess’s very birth reawakened the Black Sea. If her soul is not offered as a sacrifice, who else can quell this calamity?"
As his voice fell, and before the Mermaid King and Queen could speak, a cold, furious female voice suddenly rang out from the entrance of the hall.
"I’d like to see who dares to sacrifice my daughter’s soul!!"
The three of them turned to look at the same time.
Several figures appeared abruptly in the doorway.
A powerful and terrifying pressure descended upon the great hall, blanketing everything.
