Chapter 259 -257: Giant Beast

‘But she had clearly crushed that Golden Cicada to dust at the bottom of the cliff. There wasn’t even a trace left. How is he still alive?’

Shen Yue narrowed her eyes. “You’re not dead?”

The black-robed man’s face was pale. He clutched his arm, glaring at Shen Yue with a vicious look in his eyes.

History has a stunning way of repeating itself.

Just like that time on Wilderness Mountain, when the man in black had his arm severed by Gu Fangqi!

And now, the black-robed man before her had also lost an arm to her blade.

The only difference was that the first time, the man in black had intentionally lost his arm as part of a ploy.

This time, however, the black-robed man had no choice but to take the blow!

What she hadn’t expected, however, was that they were the same person!

Just then, Hu Tu, who was on the ground, saw the black-robed man’s grievous injury and got a clear look at him. He glanced over at Xiao Ya, who was wailing in agony nearby.

He finally understood. Though he himself was no saint, this Lord Hall Master he had served for three years was even less trustworthy—a truly wicked person!

He staggered to his feet, spat out a mouthful of blood, and roared:

“Why? Why did you hurt A zhi?”

“I’ll kill you!”

With that, he charged at the black-robed man, intending to avenge Xiao Ya.

But who could have known? Even though he had been severely wounded by Shen Yue, the black-robed man’s power was at the Realm of Qi Breaking. How could an ordinary Beastman possibly challenge that?

Before Shen Yue could even move to stop him,

Hu Tu’s body was lifted into the air, caught in the black-robed man’s telekinetic, one-handed grip!

Hu Tu’s body dangled off the ground, his face flushed crimson as blood gushed from his mouth and nose.

He beat desperately against the black-robed man’s arm.

The black-robed man had been looking for a place to vent his rage, and now someone who didn’t know his place and had ruined his plans had charged right at him.

“You want to know why? I’ll grant you your wish!”

He squeezed with all his might, about to snap Hu Tu’s neck.

No one could have expected this. The black-robed man and Hu Tu had been allies for many years, yet now their relationship had twisted to the point where each wanted the other dead.

The so-called promise of giving Hu Tu a long life had become a complete joke.

Hu Tu’s head lolled to the side, his neck on the verge of breaking.

But then, a vast shadow suddenly fell over the black-robed man…

A heavy, rasping breath sounded from above, like that of an Evil Beast crawling out of hell.

Across from him, Shen Yue, Bai Chaosi, and the others watched as an enormous body slowly rose to its feet behind the black-robed man, growing endlessly larger.

Their eyes widened, and they stumbled backward step by step in terror.

In an instant, the moonlight covering the entire hillside was blotted out as if covered by a black cloth.

The black-robed man’s pupils dilated. He stared at the gigantic shadow at his feet that was rapidly expanding, covering the entire hillside… spreading until it blotted out the sky and sun.

The intense, oppressive pressure radiating from above sent a chill down his spine.…

Meanwhile, Hu Tu, still in his grasp and on the verge of suffocating, managed to draw a few ragged breaths. He tilted his head back, staring upward in stunned silence.

He was so horrified his courage had shattered.

The black-robed man seemed to have guessed what was happening behind him. His body trembled slightly as he slowly turned around.

What met his eyes was a wall of flesh covered in dark fur as sharp as steel needles. His gaze traveled upward, bit by bit.

Not until his head was tilted back as far as it could go did he see them: a pair of blood-red eyes, hidden ten thousand meters up in the pitch-black night sky.

His body went limp, all strength leaving him in an instant. Hu Tu fell from his grasp and dropped to the ground.

Shen Yue, Huang Ziyue, and the others retreated a hundred meters in terror before they could see the creature’s full form.

Its colossal body was hundreds of zhang tall, like a hill rising from a flat plain.

Its enormous head had the face of a savage rabbit. Its pair of blood-red eyes were like two giant blood moons, illuminating the entire hillside and filling the air with a sinister, terrifying aura.

Fangs several meters long gleamed with a chilling sharpness and a spectral light.

Within its open, three-lobed mouth was a dense row of long, sharp teeth. Its long ears stood erect like two sharp blades, slicing through the night air.

Its entire body was covered in dark purple fur that stood on end like steel needles. Its front claws were especially huge and sharp; each talon was several chi long and looked as if a single swipe could cleave a boulder in two.

The members of the Mystic Mechanism Building and the Dragon Guard stared at the behemoth that had risen from the earth, their hearts caught in their throats!!

Their legs trembled uncontrollably—an innate fear of colossal beings.

Wu Huo, Huang Ziyue, and Bai Chaosi were slightly better off.

After all, they had witnessed a scene like this before. It was just like when Moo Moo had appeared on Wilderness Mountain!

But they never thought they would experience it all over again.

Shen Yue took a deep breath.

‘Looking up at the behemoth,’ she thought, ‘this is the truth!’

‘This was the purpose of her journey.’

‘This is the Purple Rabbit’s true form and its proper size!!’

At that moment, the pair of blood-red eyes above slowly turned, their gaze fixing on the black-robed man.

Even from ten thousand meters away, its vertical pupils were filled with savagery and bloodlust.

Down on the ground, the black-robed man’s back was already soaked with cold sweat.

He had only one thought: escape!

He forced himself to calm down, planning to gather all his spiritual power and flee before the Purple Rabbit attacked.

But just as he was about to—

A blast of hot air sprayed down from above, enveloping him. His legs felt as if they were rooted to the spot, unable to move.

The next second, a terrifying current of air and a foul, bloody wind swept him up instantly.

He didn’t even have time to tremble in fear before the blood vessels in his body began to surge violently.

A warm stream trickled from his nostrils.

Blood welled up in his eye sockets, blurring his vision!

His eyes widened as he watched, helpless, as his lifeblood was drawn from his body, wisp by wisp.

Like countless red threads, it streamed rapidly upward and into the body of the terrifying monster above…
