Serpent Ancestor
Chapter 892: The dog falls to Pingyang
"Are you deaf, fellow Daoist? Why don't you speak?"
The cultivator in the blue robe showed a trace of anger on his face.
"This person is so injured, he probably can't even open his mouth," said his companion beside him.
"Kill him."
At that moment, a decisive and straightforward voice of a woman came from inside the carriage.
The cultivator in the blue robe acted even more decisively. Upon hearing this, he immediately drew a long sword and thrust it toward Xu Hei's neck.
Xu Hei's heart trembled.
Although he wasn't afraid of such an attack, if someone discovered the formidable strength of his physical body, it might trigger a series of unforeseen events, which would be troublesome.
He had extremely strong defense but was a sitting duck unable to move, completely at risk of being taken back for research.
However, just as the sword was about to pierce Xu Hei's neck, a sudden force deflected it. The sword's edge shifted an inch and stabbed into the sandy ground beside Xu Hei.The cultivator in the blue robe quickly retreated, stood aside, and cupped his fists in salute.
The person who intervened was the woman who had spoken earlier.
She stepped out of the carriage, wearing a red dress, with a graceful appearance. She walked up to Xu Hei and said calmly, "It seems he's not faking it."
"Haha, this person's meridians are completely severed, his cultivation abolished. Such injuries are obvious at a glance; how could they be faked? The previous test was somewhat unnecessary," came a mocking voice from the carriage behind, belonging to a young man.
"I was just considering safety, and there was no loss, so why not?" The woman in the red dress frowned slightly, seemingly displeased.
"Alright, stop arguing. Bring this person over," a crisp and pleasant female voice came from the third carriage.
Two Foundation Establishment cultivators hurriedly lifted Xu Hei and moved him to the front of the carriage.
A young girl in a pale yellow long dress stepped down from the carriage. She looked quite young, with a faint herbal fragrance emanating from her, seemingly the pharmacist of the group.
She stood in front of Xu Hei, tilted her chin up, and looked down at him.
After a brief observation, she took out a packet of medicinal powder and put it into Xu Hei's mouth.
The powder dissolved instantly, and Xu Hei could feel a faint spiritual power flowing within him, making his body feel much better. It seemed to be a healing medicine.
"This person is quite nice," Xu Hei thought happily.
"Alright, this person has been affected by my Heartbreaking Powder and won't pose a threat to us. Move him to the back of the cart," the pharmacist girl waved her hand.
Upon hearing this, Xu Hei almost spat out a mouthful of old blood.
Damn healing medicine!
Heartbreaking Powder, just from the name, didn't sound like anything good. Xu Hei forcibly suppressed the urge to vomit, controlled his expression, and could only hope that his physique could resist this poison.
"Yes!"
The group lifted Xu Hei and moved him to the back of one of the carts carrying goods, placing him among a pile of ores.
On the cart was a type of yellow rock ore Xu Hei had never seen before, shimmering with a golden light and exuding a heavy sandy aura, likely excavated from the desert.
"Are these people here to mine?" Xu Hei pondered.
The group had storage bags hanging from their waists but didn't store the ores in them, indicating that these ores couldn't be stored.
He didn't know what these people were up to or if they would pose a threat to them.
Fortunately, Xu Bai was buried under the yellow sand and wouldn't be easily discovered without a thorough search with divine sense, so there was no immediate worry about Xu Bai's safety.
Judging by the pharmacist girl's demeanor, it seemed she intended to heal him, so he might as well follow them back.
After searching the area for a while and finding nothing unusual, the group decided to continue their journey.
Xu Hei breathed a sigh of relief.
But just as they moved a short distance away, suddenly, someone shouted from behind, "Hahaha, look what I've found, a big black dog! Hahaha!"
"Damn it!"
Upon hearing this, Xu Hei thought things were not going well.
Xu Bai hadn't been discovered, but Hei Huang was in trouble.
Wait a minute! Hei Huang was also buried under the yellow sand; how was he found?
Xu Hei turned to look and saw a cultivator in a blue robe holding a big black dog, running over excitedly and throwing the black dog onto the sand.
The cultivators quickly gathered around, scrutinizing it closely.
At this moment, the black dog had regained consciousness. Although unable to move, it showed a fierce expression, baring its teeth at the crowd.
It was evident that Hei Huang's situation was similar to Xu Hei's, with severed meridians and no divine sense, his cultivation abolished.
However, Hei Huang had woken up much later and couldn't recover some physical strength like Xu Hei, leaving him defenseless.
"Wow! This old dog still dares to bare its teeth, quite a temper!"
"This is a great tonic, the fiercer the dog, the better the tonic!"
"Let's stew black dog meat tonight!"
"This dog's fur is bald, must be quite old, definitely invigorating!"
"The dog whip is mine!"
The crowd excitedly discussed, pointing at Hei Huang's body parts, making the old dog's face twitch.
He turned his head, looking toward Xu Hei at the back of the cart, showing a pleading expression, but Xu Hei quickly turned away, pretending not to see.
The three Core Formation cultivators in the carriage didn't say anything.
A dog couldn't just appear out of nowhere in the desert; it was likely the spirit beast of that mysterious young man. Eating it wouldn't be a big deal.
"Ah!!!"
Suddenly, a scream came from behind.
The cultivator in the blue robe was lifting the dog, intending to throw it onto the cart, but got bitten on the hand, the entire palm pierced, blood gushing out.
"Let go!"
The crowd was shocked and angry, drawing their swords to strike, but hitting the dog felt like striking a sponge, its body soft and resilient, unable to be harmed.
Finally, after a round of punches and kicks, they pried open its mouth with a shovel, making it let go.
"Damn it! Such sharp teeth, it can even bite through my copper skin!"
"This beast has quite a cultivation, better be careful."
The cultivators were apprehensive, chaining Hei Huang and throwing him onto the ore cart.
Xu Hei cleverly noticed that this group's cultivation method seemed to focus on body refinement.
In the mortal realm, Foundation Establishment cultivators usually flew on swords, and Core Formation cultivators could fly and escape, but this group's way of moving was quite primitive.
Initially, Xu Hei thought it was due to the desert terrain, making flight impossible. Later, he realized that wasn't the case.
Including the copper skin hand displayed by that person, it was clearly a body refinement technique.
"Little Xu, it seems we've fallen from grace, being bullied by dogs, caught by a group of mortals, utterly disgraceful."
Hei Huang's voice came faintly.
Xu Hei looked over in surprise.
It was divine sense communication! Hei Huang could still use divine sense!
"Bullied by dogs, aren't you the dog here?"
Xu Hei thought to himself, but didn't respond.
