"Soon, based on estimates, at most another three to five days!"

That was the annoying bird voice.

It was the voice of Hou Junji, elder of the Silent Council.

Chu Che's entire body jolted, and he perked up with renewed energy.

Being able to eavesdrop on the Silent Council's secrets filled Chu Che with great excitement.

Actually, during this period, Chu Che had been wanting to hear whether the Silent Council had any schemes brewing behind the scenes.

Unfortunately, he hadn't managed to catch anything useful.

As the saying goes, nobody talks about secrets every day.

Important matters aren't brought up on a daily basis either.

Most of the time, the conversations were about trivial matters.

But this time, things seemed different.

"According to the information I received earlier, three days at minimum, no more than a week!"

The annoying bird voice continued.

"Elder, with the sea anomalies coming ashore this time, could something have changed in the ocean?"

That was Song Wei's questioning voice.

"That, I wouldn't know!"

"We've always known there's something at the bottom of the sea, but as for what exactly it is, even the Council doesn't have much intel on it. Or perhaps my clearance isn't high enough to access deeper-level information."

"As for the sea anomalies coming ashore this time, I actually didn't receive any advance warning either!"

"Otherwise, I wouldn't have chosen this location as our base!"

"In my estimation, the sea anomalies coming ashore should be similar to animal migration, perhaps some kind of instinctive behavior on their part!"

"Of course, for now, that's just speculation!"

"After the Anomaly apocalypse, we have far too little information to support a solid judgment on this event."

Hearing this, Chu Che nodded slightly.

He actually thought the same way.

So the Silent Council really wasn't the mastermind behind the sea anomalies coming ashore.

The sea anomalies coming ashore must be some kind of instinctive behavior, similar to the great animal migrations on the grasslands before the apocalypse.

If Hou Junji had known this would happen here, he probably wouldn't have chosen this place at all.

Because doing so wouldn't align with Hou Junji's interests, nor those of the Silent Council itself.

Hou Junji and Song Wei then discussed the sea anomalies coming ashore for quite some time.

Then the topic shifted, and the two began talking about the promotion of the Silent Gold Coin.

"Elder, someone from the headquarters came by to ask about the progress of the Silent Gold Coin promotion."

That was a woman's voice.

There was a hint of fear in her tone, so she was probably an ordinary person.

Superhumans had long since become immune to fear of the sea anomalies.

Hearing this, Chu Che was slightly taken aback.

Wait, the Silent Council could still receive information from the outside world at a time like this?

This...

The Silent Council was way too formidable, wasn't it?

They could actually accomplish something like this?

"Elder, this information was sent from headquarters three days ago!"

"Since you were too busy before, I only brought it over today!"

The woman's voice seemed afraid of Hou Junji's reproach, so she added an extra explanation.

So the message had been sent three days ago. Chu Che relaxed a little.

"Old Song, don't leave just yet. It's good for you to know about this too."

Then came the faint rustling sound of paper being opened.

About half a minute passed.

Then the annoying bird voice said, "Old Song, take a look as well."

Another half minute passed.

Song Wei spoke with a somewhat stifled tone: "The world is in this state now, and instead of thinking about how to develop our strength, the headquarters is thinking about promoting gold coins. This is truly..."

Before he could finish, the annoying bird voice cut him off.

"You can't say that. The headquarters has its own considerations."

"In their view, the world still has hope, it's just a matter of time!"

"Besides, there are still quite a few surviving forces in this world right now, like the mysterious Oasis, the group on the Sky Whale, and even those fellows in the airborne fortress..."

"If we really wait until everything settles down."

"Then it won't be our turn as the Silent Council to decide currency issuance rights."

"Doing things ahead of time always brings benefits."

"The Elder is right..."

Song Wei's voice answered, very calm, without the slightest hint of discontent.

Clearly, Song Wei still held great respect for Hou Junji.

"Once this sea anomaly business blows over, you should keep an eye out as well. If you can help promote it, that's best. If not, then so be it..."

"Elder, when the Fair Convoy and I went to seal off the Haosheng Hotel earlier, I deliberately demonstrated the uses of the Silent Gold Coin in front of them. I estimate that before long, the value of the Silent Gold Coin will gain recognition from more people! At that point..."

Song Wei brought up the matter of sealing the Haosheng Hotel.

After hearing Song Wei's account, Hou Junji's mind turned to Chen Ye and Chu Che...

He was very familiar with the Fair Convoy.

Currently, there weren't many people in the entire base who could come to him for loans.

Among them, there were two people from the Fair Convoy.

Moreover, those two always borrowed and repaid, and every time they did, the repayments were very prompt.

It was just that the time was too short, and everyone had to go clear out anomalies in Xi City every day, so the spread of information was quite limited.

To promote the Silent Gold Coin, perhaps next time, those two should be given larger loans, preferably the kind that could directly boost their strength.

That way, when other convoys saw it, they'd be influenced and tempted.

He had been too cautious before, always feeling that the One-eyed Guy and the Bald Guy both looked like a couple of deadbeats.

Actually, he could afford to be more generous, take bigger strides.

Besides, once Xi City was taken down, they'd have their own territory. It wasn't like they could run away, right?

As these thoughts ran through his mind, Hou Junji nodded inwardly.

He decided that next time he extended loans to Chen Ye and Chu Che...

He could appropriately raise the credit limit...

Of course, Hou Junji didn't voice any of these inner thoughts.

Just as Hou Junji was about to bring up another critical topic.

He suddenly felt a slight unease in his heart.

It seemed like someone was eavesdropping on his conversation.

At first, it was just an unconscious feeling on Hou Junji's part.

But when he focused a little, he found the sensation of being listened in on growing stronger and stronger.

Hou Junji's face turned cold, and even the feathers on the bird on his shoulder stood on end.

"Who... who's eavesdropping?"

With that single shout.

Back at the Fair Convoy, Captain Chu Che could only hear static coming through the Eavesdropping Radio.

Chu Che let out a soft sigh.

Still didn't manage to hear any important information.

That Hou Junji fellow was indeed alert.

The Silent Council really was full of hidden talents.

The Eavesdropping Radio wasn't an omnipotent Wonder after all.

Actually, this kind of situation had happened several times before.

Some Superhumans had an incredibly strong perception when it came to eavesdropping, and some Wonders also had a suppressing effect against the Eavesdropping Radio.

The Eavesdropping Radio's number ranking was only in the thousand-plus range, nowhere near the freakishly powerful level of the top ten Wonders.

And recently, the Eavesdropping Radio's number ranking had even been showing a downward trend.

Presumably, newly appearing Wonders were taking up the front numbers.
