Chapter 533: The Onset of Chaos 3

“You vermin!!”

A grim look flashed in Ten Thousand Laws Inference’s eyes. His Majesty himself was observing the situation at Heqing Dao; how could such a mishap be allowed to happen?!

‘The Six Pillars of the Court truly are monstrous existences. To think Hundred Devouring Two could only barely shake his Dharma Aspect? If I really want to hurt this guy, I’m afraid I’ll have to use the Thousand Devourers!’

After Sword Gu unleashed his strike, his power was spent. The swollen, flesh-and-blood longsword in his hand rapidly shrank back to its original size. He panted slightly, his expression grim.

He knew he hadn’t prepared many Hundred Devouring Swords this time, and he only had a single Thousand Devouring Sword.

“Shaking the South Mansion’s Array and causing chaos in the city is enough. The real struggle begins now. We have to do our best to hold those two back, find a Magic Altar, and launch a full-scale assault to tie them down.”

Formless, on the other side, spoke. A vortex in the void spat out a large handful of talismans, which he ignited with a flick of his finger.

“Magic: Fractal!!”

BANG! BANG! BANG!

The burning talismans instantly twisted as Primordial Qi condensed, forming numerous lifelike illusions of Formless and Sword Gu. They scattered in all directions to create a diversion. The two real figures immediately moved as well, mixing in with the phantoms and charging toward a nearby Magic Altar.

「Elsewhere.」

「In a stretch of wilderness.」

“Sword Gu has made his move. Use the Blood Puppets to contact the Believers in the city. Also, tell Nine Yin’s side to begin.”

Celestial Derivation said to Zhu Xie, who was beside him, as he watched the terrifying fluctuations erupt in the distance.

Zhu Xie said nothing, but a strange light was already glinting in his eyes.

In secret chambers throughout the city, the Yin Tower Believers who were summoning evil received their orders. At the same time, in another stretch of wilderness, a blood-red Magic Altar had been erected at some unknown point. A cloaked, child-like figure sat within the Magic Altar. A torrent of twisted, blood-colored runes overflowed from his body, seeping into the ground like flowing blood.

“All suffering, converge upon me! Ten thousand evils, heed my command!”

The Jiuyin Child chanted in a low voice, connecting with the Yin and Evil Qi that was suppressed deep underground by South Mansion.

The Jiuyin Child was born from the convergence of the nine yin: a yin year, yin month, yin day, yin hour, yin place, yin vein, yin phenomenon, yin creature, and yin soul. He was a natural-born Ghost Monarch!

「South Mansion, Changyuan Street.」

The moment Sword Gu unleashed his sword strike, He Xijun, who had been making a wish with her eyes closed, seemed to sense something. She snapped her eyes open and looked in the direction the Sword Light came from.

However, before she could react, the clash between Sword Gu and Ten Thousand Laws Inference occurred. The South Mansion’s Grand Array vibrated, and the ground within the city trembled as if from a slight earthquake.

AAAH!!

Screams erupted. The celebrating crowd, shocked by the sudden turn of events, let out sharp, panicked cries. A second wave of vibrations followed, causing the river water to splash violently and the unsteady crowd to collapse.

Pushed by the crowd, He Xijun also briefly lost her balance. The lotus lantern in her hand tilted, and its candle flame ignited the paper walls of the lantern.

‘What is…’

BOOM!!

AAAAAAAAGH!!

Then, even sharper screams filled with terror and despair came from nearby.

The ground cracked open as Yin Qi surged. A seal on a secret chamber broke, and terrifying Evil Spirits, drawn forth by a summoning ritual, emerged.

“This is bad!”

“Junior Brother, stay with me!”

He Xijun immediately realized something was wrong. She instantly dropped the burning lotus lantern, steadied herself, and her first instinct was to look beside her.

The crowd around her was a panicked, jostling mass. But Zhao Xuanqi was nowhere to be found.
