Seeing Crime Scenes in My Sleep

That evening, Wu Ming made a video call. "I’ve been here for so many days and I’ve searched the entire Wu Family estate, but I still haven’t found any information about myself."

"What if you can’t find anything?" Jiang Li asked, looking worriedly at Wu Ming on the screen.

"It’s not a huge deal, but it might get a little troublesome." ’If I really can’t find it, there will definitely be some consequences,’ she thought.

"How about I..."

"No need. Don’t worry, I’m not a child anymore."

Wu Ming knew what Jiang Li was about to say and immediately cut her off. ’How could I trouble her to come all this way while she’s still injured?’

Jiang Li actually wanted to say that her injury was almost healed; it was just a little itchy, nothing serious.

"That’s all for now. Don’t worry. I’m hanging up."

Jiang Li stared at the disconnected call, then glanced in Lu Xingye’s direction.

DING DONG! The doorbell rang, and Yu Huannian got up to open it.

Seeing Luo Jingheng and Du Kang at the door, he let them in anyway.

"Miss Jiang, thank you for the other day. This is a small token of our appreciation."

Du Kang placed some priceless traditional medicinal herbs on the table.

Luo Jingheng sat down across from her. "I’m sorry. I must have scared you the other day, didn’t I?"

"It’s fine. How are you feeling now?"

"Much better, thank you."

"Oh." With that one word, Jiang Li ended the awkward conversation.

Yu Huannian went to the kitchen to cook, emerging a short while later with several dishes.

It had to be said, they had arrived at the perfect time—right at dinner.

Luo Jingheng looked at the bowl of rice in front of him, picked it up, and began to eat.

Watching this scene, Du Kang suddenly understood. Although Yu Huannian’s cooking was indeed delicious, the more important factor was Jiang Li herself.

Du Kang was just about to take out his phone when Luo Jingheng’s gaze shot toward him. He froze, not daring to move.

After dinner, as Luo Jingheng was preparing to leave, he stopped at the door and looked at Jiang Li.

"Could I come over for meals sometime? It’s too quiet at my place."

For a moment, Jiang Li didn’t know how to respond. Now that she knew his identity, her rational mind was telling her to stay away.

But none of this seemed to have anything to do with Luo Jingheng himself.

"If it’s not convenient, then never mind. Thank you for dinner," Luo Jingheng said with a small smile, then turned to leave.

Jiang Li closed the door.

That evening, however, she had Yu Huannian go and invite Luo Jingheng over for dinner.

Two days later, Jiang Li received a call from Miao Anji.

"Hello? Sister, Wu Ming and her master are gone! I—I’m at the police station right now."

Jiang Li’s heart leaped into her throat. "Didn’t you say you had a way? How could they suddenly disappear?"

"It was that Li Tianming, Wu Yonghui’s man—he found them. They must have hidden Wu Ming and Master Cao."

’Wu Ming doesn’t have one of my Gu Worms on her, so I have no way to find her!’

"Okay, I understand. I’m on my way. You just focus on staying safe for now."

Jiang Li hung up and immediately looked for flights, but the earliest one wasn’t until the next day.

"If you need help, I have a private jet."

Luo Jingheng looked at Jiang Li. The jet had been prepared for him by Luo Heng, specifically so he could get medical treatment at a moment’s notice.

"Okay. Then I’ll have to trouble you, Mr. Luo."

"It’s no trouble at all. It’s the least I can do." Watching Jiang Li, Luo Jingheng’s mood suddenly brightened.

With things being so urgent, Jiang Li couldn’t be bothered with the complicated details. Saving Wu Ming was what mattered.

"Are you coming with us? Can your body handle it?" Jiang Li asked, looking at Luo Jingheng, who was already on the plane.

"I’m fine. I’m not that fragile yet. Besides, it might be more convenient if I go."

Jiang Li nodded. ’That’s true,’ she thought. ’It’s his home turf.’

The plane touched down on the Luo Family’s private landing strip. The moment she disembarked, Jiang Li called Miao Anji.

"Hello? Xiao Ji, are you still at the police station?"

Miao Anji glanced at the strange woman in front of him. "Yeah, Sister. Hurry up and come find me."

Listening to Miao Anji, Jiang Li thought he sounded a little aggrieved.

"Okay, I’m on my way."

Miao Anji hung up the phone and frowned at the woman staring blankly at him. "Hey, what do you want?"

Wu Tong wondered if she was hearing things. Had he really just said that her dad had captured his sister and locked her up?

’How could that be possible? Her parents had been so good to their sister these past few days. Their family had just been reunited, and they couldn’t wait to make up for everything they owed her.’

"You don’t recognize me? I’m Wu Tong."

Wu Tong looked at the young man before her. ’This guy has been living in our house for days. How does he not even remember who I am?’

Miao Anji looked at Wu Tong, a faint flicker of recognition in his eyes. "Oh. I’m under no obligation to remember you."

With that, Miao Anji lowered his head and ignored her. ’Sister said she was coming to find me. I get to see her again. Perfect.’

"Miao Anji, make yourself clear! What exactly is going on?"
