’I swear to God I didn’t mean for it to sound that way.’

[Sweetheart, who the heck asks ’can you sleep with me’ with zero context? What happened to hello? How are you?]

’Oh, fuck you! I was trying to ask if they could spend the night with me—fuck, why does that sound even worse.’

After he’d said those words with his full chest back in the hotel, Loki had brushed it off with a joke and suggested they headed back to the Hale-Ferguson Residence.

Said it might be ’more comfortable’ after all... whatever that meant.

So Gabriel opened a portal, Devon gently picked up Orion without waking him, and Gabriel teleported them straight to the living room.

The guys had all gone upstairs, leaving Ambrose to pace around wondering if he should board the next flight to Japan and start a new life.

[Well, you do have space manipulation now. You could just teleport yourself there.]

’Have I ever told you how much I hate you?’

[I love you too, sweetheart.] The AI genuinely laughed, the sound more human than anything he’s heard from her in a while. [Seriously, I think you’re overthinking this. They clearly understood you meant sleep, hence why they decided you should come back here.]

’So why the heck have they been upstairs for...’ He checked his phone. ’... Two minutes now? What are they still doing?’

[Asks the guy who could simply scan the place with spatial awareness to find out.]

’I’d rather not.’ He sighed. ’They’re probably going to bed anyway.’

He couldn’t understand why he was having this reaction either.

For the past month, things with his partners have progressed smoothly.

He could now confidently say he was in a relationship with all of them. There were rarely any huge arguments among themselves. They all worked like one big family—as proven during the apocalypse.

It was almost picture perfect.

Almost.

If you ignore the fact that he’s still only ever had sex with Devon and Viktor.

He’s kissed Gabriel and Valentine several times now. Even kissed Loki a few times—to be fair, one of those times they were so close to doing more if sweet little Orion hadn’t interrupted.

Devon and Viktor lived with him.

The others had houses and residences all over the continent.

They’ve just not been able to find a way around... THAT part of their chaotic relationship dynamic.

"Oh, well," he strode to the kitchen. "I gotta go take—"

[Don’t tell me you’re going to take any more alcohol.]

"... Girl, I was going to say water." He answered only after getting in front of the refrigerator. He pulled it open, clawing out a chilled bottle of water. "I’m doing an alcohol cleanse. Starting now."

[For what? Forty-eight hours?]

Ignoring that, he took a sip from the water before downing it until it was half empty in a gulp. He sighed with satisfaction, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand.

"Alright." He clamped his hands together. "I’m going to need a quick bath. Hopefully a cold one."

Ambrose exhaled through his mouth by the time he reached his room door. He didn’t bother checking on Orion, trusting the others to put him to bed.

Right before he held the doorknob... he sensed something off.

He couldn’t explain what, if you asked, but there was a rush in his chest that made his pulse stutter. With furrowed brows, he opened the door anyway.

The second he took just three steps into the bedroom... every gear in his head came to a halt. His eyes blew wide, an aggravatingly delightful heat surging through his being.

Because on the bed ahead was a scene that would probably be seared into his head and soul for the rest of his life.

Bodies.

For once, not dead bodies—but the naked bodies of his partners either sat, knelt or lay on his bed, mangled together in angles that made his head throb.

Devon was locked in a kiss with Viktor, the wet sounds carrying through the room. His arms relaxed by his sides while the ice Prince wasted no time tracing lines down his torso.

Viktor paused... only to turn his head to the person kneeling to his right.

Gabriel.

Ambrose had seen the space god shirtless. But never like this.

His chiselled dark chest and powerful arms made his throat dry up faster than the Sahara. He swallowed, gaze trailing to the white, bulging Calvin Klein boxers he had on.

The SS-Rank seemed hesitant when Viktor’s lips brushed his. But he soon gave in, slinging an arm around his waist to steady himself.

And there—sprawled across the sheets like sin incarnate—was Valentine.

Long black hair spilt over the pillows, crimson eyes locked on Ambrose with a hunger so sharp it felt like a blade against his throat. The necromancer was completely bare, one arm draped lazily behind his head, the other resting low on his own stomach as if he had all the time in the world to watch Ambrose fall apart.

Ambrose’s breath stuttered.

’W-What in the fifty shades of insanity did I walk into?’

For once, Aura didn’t give a response. Almost like she shifted into the deepest corners of his mind to give him privacy.

Movement came from the far corner just then.

Loki stepped into the light, hips rolling with every stride. They didn’t speak, merely extending a hand, fingers curling in a slow, teasing beckon that made Ambrose’s knees threaten to buckle.

Embarrassment flooded him so hard his ears burned. Something hungrier surged right beneath the overwhelming embarrassment.

Loki reached him first.

Cool fingers slid under the hem of Ambrose’s shirt as their mouth crashed against his—tongue sweeping in without hesitation.

Ambrose made a broken sound against their lips as the fabric was peeled upward, over his head and tossed aside.

He stood there half-naked, heart slamming, the room spinning around the taste of Loki and the weight of every pair of eyes now fixed on him.
