Chapter 239: Lord Of Dreams

The system was waiting for Kalon...

...

「Skill Acquired」

「(SSS+) Dreamwalk」

~ Type: Dream

~ Restriction: Can only be activated after sunset

~ Allows the user to enter the Dream World while the body remains asleep in the real world

~ Within the Dream World, the user holds full dominion over all elements

...

Full dominion over all elements.

The wording was clean enough, but he still did not properly understand what the Dream World was, or what dominion meant once he was inside it.

The skill had arrived with no demonstration. It was by far the most profound and unbelievable skill he had received so far.

He asked the system directly.

The answer came in the same flat internal voice it always used.

The Dream World existed alongside the real one. It was not imaginary in the useless sense. It ran at the same time, layered over ordinary life. People entered it when they slept, usually without control or memory. Most never knew they had been there at all. The stronger a person’s Dream affinity, the more they could impose their will on that world. Ordinary dream users could shape rooms, slow fear, ease recovery, or trap a mind for a short time. Healers liked it. Therapists liked it. Fighters rarely respected it.

Kalon’s case was different.

Full dominion meant that inside the Dream World, every element answered him without the usual limits of rank, cooldown shape, or affinity walls. Fire, water, earth, air, force, and the rest would move as he decided.

If he killed someone there, their real body would not die. They would wake. But the damage carried over into their system temporarily. Attributes dropped. Skills weakened. Recovery took far longer than any ordinary injury. A strong enough killing blow in the Dream World could cripple a fighter’s power for days or longer after they opened their eyes again.

Kalon sat with that for a while, elbows on his knees, staring at the dark window.

Outside, the last of the daylight was already gone. The restriction was clear. After sunset only.

He lay back, activated Dreamwalk, and let the skill pull him under.

...

The shift was clean.

One moment he was in his apartment bed. The next he stood in a version of the same room that felt sharper and quieter than the real one.

Kalon raised a hand and reached for fire.

A sun-bright flare answered instantly, denser and easier than Ninefold Sunbreaker had ever been in the waking world. Heat filled the dream room without burning the floor.

He dismissed it and reached for earth. Stone rose through the floorboards without resistance, clean and exact.

He tried water next and a sheet of it hung in the air until he closed his hand.

Ice followed.

Lightning cracked between his fingers with no lag.

When he reached for force, pure pressure with no element attached, the air itself bent around his palm hard enough to make the windows tremble.

He could also teleport as a dreamwalker.

He focused on a street he knew across the city and arrived there in a single step. There was no travel delay or adaptation sequence. The Dream World simply put him where he wanted to be.

Another step took him to the academy gates.

Another put him on a rooftop overlooking the dense centre of London.

Each jump landed exact, with no drain he could feel and no cooldown window waiting behind it.

For a few minutes he only moved, testing the edge of it.

Rooftop to street. Street to old training yard. Training yard back to the high-rise. Every arrival was easy. Every element still answered the moment he called it.

Inside this place he did not feel like a Mid Platinum fighter with a strong kit. He felt like the only person in the world who could rewrite the rules of the world.

Then he decided that he wanted to test something else. Combat.

But who would be a good target? He thought of all the people who had bullied him.

His mind landed on Richard Red, the only one who still continued to troll and trash on him on social media.

Ruby’s brother. The one who had spent years making other people’s lives smaller, including his sister’s when it suited him.

Kalon still remembered the hallway talk after the tournament, the arrogance. Some people truly never learned.

Kalon focused on the Red family house and stepped.

...

The dream version of the house sat quiet on its street.

Kalon walked through the front without bothering with the door. The wood offered no resistance. Inside, was a rich looking interior.

He took the stairs without sound and found Richard upstairs in a wide bedroom lined with training gear and old match posters.

Richard was sitting on the edge of the bed like a man who had only just noticed the room felt wrong.

His head snapped up.

"What the hell—"

He was on his feet in a second, hands already lighting with his affinity. Whatever skill he threw came fast and ugly, a hard construct aimed straight at Kalon’s chest with full intent behind it.

Richard attacked the moment he understood someone else was in the room.

Kalon did not bother matching element for element.

He lifted one hand and called upon Force, an element he hadn’t yet awakened in the real world.

The absolute blast left him in a straight, silent pressure wave, raw dominion compressed into a single strike.

It hit Richard square on and blew him apart across the dream bedroom in a violent scatter of broken shape and vanishing mass. The walls took the leftover shock. The posters tore from their mounts. The bed frame split down the middle and collapsed inward.

Then the room stood empty where Richard had been.

Kalon lowered his hand.

In the real world, Richard Red would wake up later with his system gutted and his attributes dragged down hard. Not dead. Just far weaker than the man who had just tried to attack him in his own dream.

Kalon looked once around the ruined bedroom, then stepped away from the house entirely, already feeling how complete his control inside this world could become with time.
