The next day, Thea came to see the apartment.

Kalon opened the door and found her in a simple top and fitted pants, hair tied back, eyes already moving past him into the open space behind.

She stepped inside without waiting for a full invitation and stopped in the middle of the living room.

"This is yours? All of it?" she asked with wide eyes of disbelief.

"Haha, it is."

Thea walked the length of the window-wall first. From the top floor, the city stretched out clear and wide under daylight.

She touched the glass once, then turned back to take in the rest: the open kitchen, the sparse new furniture, the fact that there were no shared walls and no dormitory noise bleeding through.

"You really left," she said.

"I sent the withdrawal through yesterday," Kalon replied. "Atlas accepted the contract. There’s no point staying enrolled when the academy can’t offer me anything better."

Thea nodded, though her expression was mixed.

"Unfortunately, I’m staying."

"Oh yeah?"

"My mother’s organisation still wants a finished academy record before they write a real contract," she said. "True Fighters won’t move early just because I did well in the tournament. So I’ll stay in school, keep ranking up where they can see it, and push until they accept me. Being in my mother’s organisation makes the most sense after all."

Kalon nodded his head. There was no arguing with that logic.

"That’s sensible."

"It’s slow," Thea said. Then she gave a small shrug. "But it’s my path. I don’t think I’m built for the path you’ve chosen."

There was no real bitterness in it. If anything, she looked faintly impressed as she continued walking the apartment.

She checked the bedroom, the bathroom, the empty second room he had not decided on yet. By the time she came back to the main window, her shoulders had eased.

"It’s a good place," she said.

"It will be better when it has more than one chair."

That got a short laugh of amusement out of her. She stood close to the glass with her arms folded beneath her breasts, looking out over the city. Kalon joined her there. For a moment they simply watched traffic move far below.

Then Thea glanced sideways at him.

"You look different here," she said. "It’s like you’ve became a real man. Not that you weren’t one before, but you know what I mean."

"I do, don’t worry."

There was almost no resemblance of the old Kalon in him anymore. Not just appearance, but behaviour as well.

She turned toward him fully after that. The distance between them shrank without either of them making a big deal out of it.

Kalon put a hand on her waist. Thea did not move away. Her blue eyes flicked once to his mouth, then back up.

They kissed.

It started simply enough, but it did not stay that way. Thea’s hands came up into his shirt. Kalon’s grip tightened on her waist and then slid lower, openly groping her ass through her pants while he kissed her harder against the window-wall.

She made a small sound into his mouth and pressed closer.

Outside the glass, the city continued as normal. Inside, Thea’s body was warm under his hands, her chest pushed against him, her breathing already changing.

Kalon kissed down to her jaw and grabbed her more firmly. Thea’s fingers curled hard into his back.

He turned her more directly toward the window, still behind her now, both of them looking out over the high city while his hands moved under her top and over her breasts. She was soft and full in his grip. Her head tipped back against his shoulder.

"Kalon..."

He tugged her hips back into him and started to bend her forward toward the glass.

Thea went with it, hands bracing against the window, breath fogging faintly on the clear surface.

The position was obvious. Another few seconds and he would have had her pants down and been inside her right there over the city view, fucking her from behind and watching her ass slap back against him.

Then the system cut in.

「New Quest: Offworld Claim」

﹂Have sex with a human while away from Earth

﹂Reward: New Affinity & SSS+ Rank Passive Skill

Kalon froze with surprise.

A quest involving a human?

Thea was already here under his hands, already willing, already breathing like she expected him to continue. If he took her to another planet first, the quest would complete on top of everything else.

He eased back half a step and smoothed her top down.

Thea looked over her shoulder, flushed and confused.

"W-what? Did I do something wrong?"

"Not here," Kalon said.

Her brow furrowed. "You were about to—"

"I know." He turned her gently to face him. "Come with me instead."

"Come with you where?"

"Veylora."

That wiped the irritation off her face and replaced it with sharp attention.

"Right now?"

"Right now," Kalon said. "I want to have you on another planet... We’ve already done earth, but earth isn’t my only home."

Thea’s eyes seemed to light up a little bit. It was a perfect answer to her.

"Alright."

Kalon took her hand, focused on the system, and initiated the jump with her linked to him.

[Initiating Travel Sequence...]

[Adapting both bodies to suit conditions...]

[...]

[You have arrived!]

[Welcome to Veylora!]

Warm green air closed around them.

They stood inside the cathedral.

It was empty for once. No priestess lines. No trainees near the altar. No public thanksgiving crowd filling the square beyond the doors.

Light came in soft through the vine-covered openings, and the great interior was quiet.

Thea turned slowly, still holding his hand.

"This is the cathedral," she said under her breath.

"Yes."

Her blue eyes moved across the empty hall, the altar space, the open floor.

She was on another planet again, alone with him, and she had not forgotten what they had been about to do against the window.

Kalon looked at her in the cathedral light. For some reason, she looked even more beautiful on a foreign planet.

And she was all his to explore.
