Sea Survival: My Luck is Off the Charts
Chapter 361: A Gift from Yvonne Lynch
It was September 7th, the last day of the event. Faye Yardley thought she could invite Yvonne Lynch over to hang out, provided she was free.
After all, maybe it was because her age was considered young among the Zombie Clan, but her schedule was packed with lessons from morning till night.
She was rarely free.
This was the last day. If she still wasn’t free, they would really have to wait for the next opportunity.
Luckily, when she called this time, Yvonne Lynch answered excitedly, "Faye, in an hour, I’ll have a whole two hours of free time! You have to invite me over."
"Okay. See you in a bit then."
Having mentioned inviting Yvonne Lynch over a couple of days ago, Willow Yardley had already prepared a lot of the foods Yvonne used to love.
Faye Yardley decided to use the waiting time to continue her Cultivation of the Health Care Scripture, while also looking at herself with the Demon Mirror.
She had happened to discover this a couple of days ago: while practicing the Health Care Scripture, looking at herself with the Demon Mirror actually allowed her to clearly see the flow of "Energy" within her body.
Because the mirror was for viewing Demonic Creatures and the Health Care Scripture had been obtained from a demon’s Magic, Faye Yardley worried she might turn into a demon if she kept practicing. For this reason, she not only asked the system but also went to consult Master Gideon.
The answers she received were identical: what she feared would not happen, and she could continue her Cultivation without worry.
While relieved, she also felt that her past self had been truly bold and ignorant.
Fortunately, her super-high Luck Attribute was always at work.
But the mirror was really too small, so Faye Yardley had Willow Yardley hold it and follow her instructions, moving it from her head to her neck, then down to her right shoulder.
Following the flow of Energy, she could always spot some other, smaller channels, so Faye Yardley began trying to guide the Energy into those minor pathways.
An hour passed quickly, and just as expected, Yvonne Lynch accepted the invitation and arrived right on time.
"Faye, Willow, I missed you so much!" Yvonne Lynch exclaimed, excitedly rushing over to hug them both before letting go. "I’ve been training extra hard these past two days just so I could come hang out for two hours."
Faye Yardley praised her, "Yvonne, you’re really amazing. You look so much stronger than before. At least you don’t have that fragile, easy-to-bully look anymore."
"Hee hee~ Really? That’s great!" Yvonne Lynch was so happy her eyes curved into crescents.
Willow Yardley said, "Would Faye lie to you? We’ve prepared a lot of tasty food for you. You should pack it all up and take it back with you."
"Okay, okay, thank you, Willow." Yvonne Lynch then added, "Before I leave, I also want to say hi to Eamon."
The number of people on the raft had increased. Bella Yardley and Cole Kensington were complete strangers to Yvonne Lynch, and she didn’t know Blackwood or Bella well either.
’I don’t feel like I was gone for that long... Why has so much changed?!’
After a brief meet-and-greet with the others, Yvonne Lynch pulled Faye Yardley over to the thatched hut, asked for a regular fishing rod, and started fishing for treasure chests.
Then she started telling Faye Yardley about what she’d been up to recently.
After catching a bomb fish, she was incredibly excited. "Faye, can I take this fish with me too?"
"Of course. Whatever you catch is yours."
"Hee hee~ You’re the best, Faye. Actually, I have a gift for the best big sister, too."
As she spoke, Yvonne Lynch took out a bouquet of blue flowers and a packet of flower seeds.
Yvonne Lynch didn’t even need to explain; the moment Faye Yardley took them, the system provided the answer.
[Star Feather Flower: A unique flower species of the Zombie Clan. Places where it blooms are always filled with vitality.]
The flower seeds were for the blue Star Feather Flower.
Yvonne Lynch said with a smile, "Faye, don’t worry, you can plant these on your raft. My mom gave me special permission to bring them to you."
"Please thank your mom for me. Can these flowers only be planted on the raft?"
Yvonne Lynch nodded. "Yep, only here, on your raft. Without my mom’s permission, they probably won’t survive anywhere else."
’Is it that magical?’
’It’s even more magical than the Magic Seed.’
Faye Yardley thanked her again.
"You don’t have to thank me, Faye." As Yvonne Lynch spoke, she took out a small glass jar. "This is Star Feather Flower Tea. It’s just for you to drink, Faye."
’Another thing just for me?’
Faye Yardley nodded. "Okay."
Since she had been given specific instructions, Faye Yardley had no intention of experimenting, like planting the flower seeds elsewhere or giving the Flower Tea to someone else.
There was absolutely no need to test what might happen if she did.
As they were talking, Faye Yardley hooked a Wooden Treasure Chest and pushed it toward her. "Here, you can open this blind box."
Yvonne Lynch’s eyes lit up. "Can I?"
"Then I’m opening it!"
And just like that, she opened it. To Faye Yardley’s surprise, she heard a system notification.
[Received: Pistachios (1 lb package) x5, Orange Soda x5, wood x15, Space Stone x1]
"Yvonne, your luck is amazing."
"Really? I actually think my luck is pretty good too, haha..."
Happy times are always fleeting. When it was time to part, Yvonne Lynch looked so reluctant to leave that Faye Yardley couldn’t help but promise to invite her over again for any future events.
Before she left, Faye Yardley also made a point of giving her five rainbow ice creams, since they had bought them together. It was a fond memory.
After Yvonne left, Bella Yardley ran over and asked, "Faye, where is that Miss Lynch from? She feels very dangerous."
Hmm??
Faye Yardley was confused. "Somewhere far away, I guess. You think she’s dangerous?"
"Yeah. Just being near her feels really oppressive."
"Really? I didn’t feel that at all."
Just then, Cole Kensington, who had arrived after her, added, "It’s probably because you and Willow are so familiar with her. She must have been restraining her aura when she was around you."
"Is that so?"
Although Faye Yardley asked this, she didn’t think Bella Yardley and Kingston would come over just to lie to her.
So Yvonne really had been training hard and was improving rapidly.
’That means I should work even harder.’
"Mhm, mhm, mhm." Bella Yardley nodded emphatically. She was afraid Faye would fall into a trap without realizing it, which was absolutely unacceptable.
Faye Yardley patted her head. "I know, I know. Go get Eamon for me. I have something good for him."
"What is it?"
Eamon arrived quickly. He already had a good idea what ’good thing’ Faye had for him—the one Yvonne had brought before she left.
Handing him half of the flower seeds, Faye Yardley said, "These are special flower seeds Yvonne brought. They can only be planted on my raft, so don’t you go secretly keeping any for yourself, Eamon."
Eamon quickly promised he would never secretly keep any, that he never had before and never would in the future.
Back in her bedroom, Faye Yardley took the blooming blue Star Feather Flower from her inventory and placed it in a vase on her nightstand.
Perhaps the vine sensed the unique aura of the Star Feather Flower, because a tendril snaked in from outside the door.
Faye Yardley could clearly feel the vine’s joy, but she still said, "You’d better not eat these flowers."
The vine swayed its smaller tendrils back and forth. Just because it liked the vibrant aura here didn’t mean it would devour other plants.
