Chapter 248: Chapter 125: Gemini’s Raging Tide, The Fated Duel Between Kanon and Saga! (Part 1)
Under the deep-sea dome of Atlantis, faint blue currents of light flowed slowly like a galaxy. Finely crushed fluorescent coral floated in the crystal-clear seawater, and the distant Main Pillar still bore the cracks from the previous Holy War.
A dark golden figure slowly walked out from the depths of the temple.
Sea Dragon General Kanon was clad in his dark golden Scale. Every wave pattern on the armor refracted a cold, hard metallic luster under the dim light, clinging perfectly to his tall and straight physique that resembled a solid reef. His explosive power was hidden within those smooth lines, and his red cape flapped wildly in the deep-sea undercurrents.
His facial features were almost identical to Saga’s, yet they exuded a completely different, hostile aura. His brow bone was sharper, his jawline was tense as if carved by a knife, and even his eyes carried an untameable wildness that could not be worn away.
That was the ruthlessness he had forged from struggling on the edge of death, having spent years accompanied by darkness and the tides in the rock prison of Cape Sounion.
As the head of the seven Sea Generals under the Sea God Poseidon, when the Sea God had not spoken, the power of entire Mariner faction rested solely in his hands.
It had to be said that the Gemini Saints were all exceptional individuals among men. One had ascended to the position of Pope in the Sanctuary, while the other had become the strongest entity beneath the gods in the Sea Realm. They belonged to opposing factions, yet both stood at the absolute pinnacle of their respective powers.
A transparent curtain of water rose from the sea, acting like a solid crystal barrier that firmly blocked the two outsiders.
Behind the water curtain, the corner of Kanon’s mouth curled into a cold, mocking sneer. His voice carried the chill of the deep sea, piercing into one’s heart like an ice pick.
"Saga, you hypocrite. You locked me in a water prison back then, yet you yourself plotted to kill Master Shion and seize the position of Pope. And now, you still have the face to come to Atlantis and seek an audience with the Sea God?"
Saga’s eyes flickered, a trace of complex pain flashing through his blue pupils. However, he did not offer much in the way of defense, only speaking in a deep voice:
"Kanon, I had my own unspoken difficulties regarding the events of the past. I came this time to unite with the Sea God to fight against the disaster of Hades’ Divine Extinction..."
"Shut up!"
Kanon suddenly clenched his fists tightly, his knuckles turning white from the force.
His angry shout exploded in the deep sea like a thunderclap. The seawater above Atlantis instantly grew turbulent, and even the distant coral reefs trembled slightly.
He stared fixedly at Saga, the raging fire in his eyes practically threatening to break through the water curtain.
On countless late nights, he would relive the scene of his older brother pushing him into the rock prison in his dreams. The freezing seawater flooding his nose and mouth, the excruciating pain of the chains biting into his flesh—it still burned within his bone marrow to this day.
But at this moment, the Sea God and Athena had just concluded an alliance treaty. If he attacked now, it would mean tearing up the treaty and plunging the Sea Realm into a state of dishonor.
Ultimately, Kanon forcefully suppressed his killing intent and said coldly:
"The Sea God has no time to see you today. Go back to wherever you came from, the two of you. Stop being an eyesore in Atlantis."
Hyoga frowned slightly, his fingertips subconsciously condensing a trace of frigid air. Kanon’s words were undoubtedly humiliating the dignity of the Sanctuary.
As the exalted Pope of the Sanctuary, Saga was the supreme leader when Athena was absent. It was fine for him, Hyoga, to suffer a little grievance, but he could not allow Saga to suffer such humiliation in the Sea Realm.
He took a step forward, just about to open his mouth to retort, but his wrist was gently pressed down by Saga.
Saga raised his hand and undid the Pope’s vestments on his body. The white robe slipped off, revealing the Gemini Gold Cloth underneath.
The golden armor plates emanated a sacred luster in the faint blue seawater. The star patterns on the shoulder plates formed a glaring contrast with the wave patterns of Kanon’s Scale.
The corners of his mouth turned up slightly, his eyes carrying a hint of absolute resolve.
"Kanon, I know you resent me, but resentment solves nothing. Why don’t you and I have a fair and square duel? If I lose, I will be at your disposal. If you lose, you must never dwell on the past again and join me in fighting against Hades."
Kanon gritted his teeth and was stunned for a moment, before letting out a burst of low, maniacal laughter.
He had already wanted to personally tear off his brother’s hypocritical mask. He wanted to ask the person he had once considered his only support why he would abandon him in a dark rock prison for an Athena he had never even met.
