Chapter 191: Chapter 96: Cronus, Typhon, the God of Dreams! (Part 1)
The Titan who had first blocked Alex’s path had his skull cracked open long ago, exposing bone-white brain matter and dark gold divine veins. He suddenly let out a ferocious roar. The sonic wave shook the surrounding rock walls, causing debris to cascade down, and forced the other restless Titans to retreat.
An indistinct voice came from his broken head, as saliva mixed with black blood dripped from his shattered jaw. "Stop! He is our only hope of escaping this place. You trash controlled by your instincts, get lost!"
The many broken Titans hesitated, their jagged knuckles scraping against the hard ground and producing ear-piercing sounds.
A female Titan’s voice drifted from the shadows. Her neck was strangled into three segments by chains, and her head hung upside down. "Indeed, a purebred human carrying Divinity. It has been thousands of years, and he is the only one."
"But that just makes him even more delicious," another Titan chimed in with a muffled voice. His chest cavity was torn wide open, revealing just how brutal the great war back then had been. "Being locked up in this godforsaken place with no daylight, I’ve long forgotten the taste of human flesh."
Crack! Crack!
Ear-splitting cracking sounds echoed throughout the entire Abyss of Tartarus.
On the gloomy ground, countless massive fissures flowing with magma and foul blood spread madly. Sulfurous hot air spewed from the cracks, scorching the floating debris into ashes.
Broken Titans, even more massive than mountains, broke free one after another from behind the abyssal darkness, from within the torn fissures, and from the boiling, chaotic torrents. Their silhouettes obscured the already faint, eerie green light sources, completely submerging Alex in the suffocating, endless darkness cast by these primordial deities.
"I don’t care about that anymore!" roared a Titan with three wolf heads, its sharp claws carving deep trenches into the rock wall. "I want his flesh, I want his Divinity! Just one bite is enough! With Divinity, I can break these chains!"
The imprisoned Titans became completely agitated. Countless broken arms reached out from all directions. Some were nothing but bare bones, while others still had rotting flesh hanging off them, with abyssal sludge packed under their fingernails. They grasped at Alex like a swarming plague.
The Titan who had lured Alex here could no longer hold back. He abruptly stepped in front of Alex, his chest erupting with a blinding golden light as majestic divine power surged out like a tsunami.
"All of you, get lost!"
Boom!
This ancient primordial god, bearing an anger and resentment enough to make the world tremble, fully awakened. He opened his mouth and spewed golden divine fire, turning the few Titans in the front row into charred husks.
"Cronus! Do you still think you are the high and mighty God King?" a one-eyed Titan roared as it lunged forward. "It was your mistaken decisions back then that caused us to lose the war and be locked up in this hellhole forever!"
Several Titans instantly tackled Cronus to the ground. They brawled together, using their broken teeth to tear at each other’s necks and their remaining fists to smash into each other’s skulls. They rolled around in a chaotic heap like street thugs. Golden divine blood mixed with black, foul blood, pooling into putrid puddles on the ground.
Alex watched all of this with a grim expression. The authority of primordial laws intertwined, collided, and resonated before his eyes. The aftershocks of the clashing laws sent waves of stinging pain through him, even while wearing the Ophiuchus Cloth.
The entire Abyss of Tartarus trembled violently. Muffled rumblings came from even deeper within, accompanied by waves of low, deep dragon roars, as if some gargantuan entity was awakening.
Amidst the chaotic brawl, Cronus grabbed the Aquarius Cloth box and hurled it toward Alex with all his might, his roar filled with anxiety. "Run! It’s Typhon! You killed its child, the Hydra, and it won’t let you off!"
"Remember to come back to the entrance of the abyss at this exact time next month! I have something for you!"
Alex’s heart skipped a beat.
