Chapter 143 - 141: New Discovery in the Medicine House

Chapter 143: Chapter 141: New Discovery in the Medicine House

The people from the animal protection department held a laptop, showing Lin Feng the footage they had recorded with infrared cameras. They were astonished by the sheer number of animals that appeared.

"Mr. Lin, Lin Xian Village’s ecosystem has had a huge impact on the surrounding wildlife.

We never expected so many wild animals to migrate and live around Lin Xian Village. Thank you for feeding the local animals."

To them, this was a complete dereliction of duty. If Lin Feng hadn’t been feeding them, the large gathering of wild animals could have easily led to some unfortunate incidents.

"You’re welcome. The increase in these animals is also a good thing for Lin Xian Village’s tourism industry.

I just didn’t expect there to be so many wild animals in the mountain forests."

The Golden Eagle had been confirmed. One set of cameras had captured footage of it flying in the sky far in the distance. It likely didn’t live in the area immediately surrounding Lin Xian Village.

It was unclear why it had come over to Lin Xian Village last time; perhaps it was chasing prey.

However, given the environment in Lin Xian Village, now that it had visited once, it was very likely to migrate here later.

Besides the Golden Eagle, the videos also captured spotted linsangs moving through the woods, as well as a large number of animals like squirrels.

Additionally, some birds like the long-eared owl were also discovered. And this was just within a five-kilometer radius of Lin Xian Village.

Deeper in Da Shan, there were certainly more animals. For example, the black bear discovered near the signal tower was already living on the outskirts.

And that’s not to mention the wild boars. It probably wouldn’t be long before they started wandering over to the village.

"So, why were you looking for me this time?"

"Mr. Lin, we’d like to set up a monitoring station here in Lin Xian Village, specifically to monitor these animals."

"A monitoring station? That’s no problem. Have you found a suitable location?"

"We’ve already picked a spot. It’s right where we found the Golden Eagle’s claw marks last time."

Seeing that Lin Feng agreed, the group was very happy. Setting up a monitoring station here would be a huge help to their research and investigation of wild animals.

In fact, they were also setting up monitoring stations in other areas to observe the effects of Lin Xian Village’s environment on animals.

After they left, Lin Feng thought about the Golden Eagle. ’When will I run into it? I wonder if I can make it my pet.’

Although he had the Mountain and Forest Guardian title effect, it only guaranteed that wild animals wouldn’t attack him proactively; it couldn’t attract them to approach him.

Hu Zhiming ran in from outside, grabbed the teapot, and poured himself a cup.

"You! The Restaurant was having a chef’s exchange today, and you didn’t even show up. Where’d you go?"

"I went to see some monks."

Lin Wen was completely bewildered. "What monks? We have more monks in the village?"

Hu Zhiming explained, "Not in Lin Xian Village. A bunch of monks came to the neighboring mountain. They’re planning to build a temple there."

"Build a temple! It couldn’t be those monks who came to me last time wanting to build a temple in Lin Xian Village, the ones I turned down, could it?"

"The very same. I heard from my dad that someone wants to see if the mountains around Lin Xian Village have any miraculous properties, so they’re funding them to build a temple on the neighboring mountain.

Brother Lin, this won’t affect us, will it?"

"It’s fine. If they want to build, let them build."

’It seems some people just won’t give up. Well, might as well let them stir up some trouble.’

On a mountain eight kilometers in a straight line from Lin Xian Village, the terrain was even better than Lin Xian’s.

A group of monks was selecting a site to build their temple.

"Master, if we build the temple here, can we really achieve the same effects as Lin Xian Village?"

"Amitabha. It doesn’t really matter whether we can or not. What matters is that this place is close enough to Lin Xian Village."

"Master, I don’t quite understand."

"You are still young, so you do not understand. You will in the future."

A few wealthy men from Wuyuan County approached and said, "Master, although this location has been approved, the construction must follow regulations. It can’t be like how things are in Lin Xian Village."

"Amitabha. Benefactors, we will build according to the regulations."

They all knew that the project was only approved because of Lin Xian Village’s influence.

The county wanted to vigorously develop its tourism industry, and their project happened to fall under that category.

In truth, everyone would much rather build projects like hotels and sanatoriums around Lin Xian Village, but unfortunately, they couldn’t get approval.

Several government departments were keeping a close eye on the land surrounding Lin Xian Village. Even if the county wanted to develop it, they couldn’t touch it now.

The commercial street currently under construction was approved back when Lin Xian Village wasn’t famous. Otherwise, it would be impossible to get it greenlit today.

「Meanwhile, inside Lin Xian Village’s Land God Temple...」

Qi Yangming and several other Daoist Masters were approached by a parent who had brought their child.

"Daoist Master, is there any way my child and I could stay in the temple for a period of time each day?"

"Ma’am, may I ask what trouble you’ve encountered?"

"My child has a manic disorder. I heard the incense fragrance here has a calming and focusing effect, so I wanted to see if it would help him."

The Daoist Masters looked at the little boy beside her but didn’t notice anything unusual. The child was very quiet at the moment.

"This is a matter we must ask the Boss about. We don’t have any lodging here either."

Lin Feng received a call, and after learning about the situation, he came over to understand it better.

’I really didn’t expect the incense in the Land God Temple could actually treat mental illness.’

"Ma’am, in a little while, I’ll have someone issue you a permit. You can bring your child up the mountain during the day, but at night, you’ll have to stay in Mountain Ridge Town. There are no houses on the mountain right now."

"As long as you agree, Mr. Lin, that’s all that matters. I’ll solve the housing issue myself."

Chu Xiuhong was overjoyed. After giving it a try, she discovered that her son, Lü Hao, was mentally very Stable inside the temple.

She called her husband and asked him to see if he could rent one of the Houses, in which case they would just rent it for a whole month.

If it proved effective, she planned to bring her son here for long-term treatment.

Lin Feng had just stepped out of the Land God Temple when he ran into Feng Ziling.

"Boss, the new doctor at the Medicine House is looking for you."

"What is it about?"

"I don’t know. He just told me to ask you to go over there."

Lin Feng headed toward the Medicine House. The two new doctors had replaced Feng Ziling and Zhao Shiyun. Feng Ziling was now mainly in charge of the Land God Temple.

Zhao Shiyun was managing the performance troupe. The two of them had a lot more free time now.

When he arrived at the Medicine House, he found five doctors gathered together, seemingly discussing something.

"Boss."

"The boss is here."

"Boss, come take a look quickly! We’ve made a new discovery."

Lin Feng walked over and asked, "What did you discover?"

"Boss, a tourist with a severe cold and fever came to us for treatment today.

I saw his fever was quite high, so I brewed him a dose of traditional Chinese medicine. Unexpectedly, the medicinal effect was outstanding.

When I realized something was different, I tried other medicines. The effects of all these medicines are better than those prepared outside."

After hearing this, Lin Feng understood what was happening. The Medicine House itself had other properties: it could gently stimulate medicinal effects, increase the success rate and quality of Elixir Pill refinement, and reduce side effects.

It was just that because the Clearing Heat and Stopping Cough Pills were so effective, the other properties of the Medicine House had never been discovered.

The patient with the severe cold today had allowed these doctors to discover that other medicines prepared in the Medicine House were also more effective than those made outside.

Of course, the effect couldn’t compare to the Clearing Heat and Stopping Cough Pills, but it was still enough to be a pleasant surprise.

The newcomer, Wu Xianlin, said, "Boss, since the medicines brewed in the Medicine House are so effective, can we start treating patients?"

Wu Xianlin had come to Lin Xian Village mainly to earn money, as his family was under great financial pressure.

Now that he’d discovered this, he didn’t want to give up his original profession.

"Are you sure you want to treat patients? Your current workload isn’t light as it is."

"We’re sure, we’re sure! We can set aside some time to treat patients. It definitely won’t interfere with the production of Medicinal Tea and pills."

Lin Feng waved his hand. "The production volume of Medicinal Tea and pills isn’t that important to me.

The main issue is your salary. Treating patients will definitely reduce your income."

"That’s not a problem. We’ve already discussed it."

"Alright, then. I’ll apply for the necessary licenses first, and then you can start your work treating the sick."
