Chapter 1132: Chapter 1120: Old Xu Rescue Plan (18)

"I understand! I’m going with Chengwu!"

No arguments, no stubbornness, Wang Qiang stood up decisively and casually picked up the supply bag placed in the corner.

Looking at Wang Qiang’s swift actions, not only Tang Xiaoquan was stunned, but even Duan Chengwu beside him was a bit taken aback.

Is the man before us really Wang Qiang?

But now is not the time to ponder such matters. Upon hearing, Tang Xiaoquan earnestly nodded and solemnly said: "Be careful!"

After seeing Wang Qiang and Duan Chengwu off, Tang Xiaoquan took a deep breath, cleared his mind of distractions, and quickly directed his gaze to the street.

The rumble emanated from the building’s base, and Tang Xiaoquan peeked down to see the white van starting off.

Tang Xiaoquan followed the road the van was to take and noticed several zombies becoming restless, evidently sensing the disturbance in the alley.

Hua Biao was still "relentlessly" urging, but Hu Xiaodong remained focused on the road ahead.

Upon reaching the alley exit, Hu Xiaodong gently pressed the brake and then turned the steering wheel.

As the vehicle swerved out, it precisely collided with an unfortunate zombie "curiously investigating."

The unlucky creature slammed into the front of the vehicle, making a "thud" sound, and was then hurled skyward like a broken kite.

Sitting in the vehicle, Hu Xiaodong clearly saw the zombie’s arching trajectory flying through the air.

After helplessly soaring a few meters, the unfortunate one landed heavily on the ground.

One must admit, the zombies’ resilience is truly remarkable. Even after such a severe impact and fall from such a height, upon landing, it still struggled to crawl as if nothing had happened.

Bear in mind that the "unfortunate one" is now entirely drenched in blood and with broken bones, getting up is simply not possible.

However, its tragedy did not end there, as Hu Xiaodong, having completed the turn, accelerated again.

The powerful van swiftly crushed over the resilient body of the unfortunate one.

There was a slight jolt from under the vehicle, and Hu Xiaodong glanced at the rearview mirror, seeing behind the vehicle a puddle of mashed flesh and a long, ghastly blood trail.

The death of their companion did not deter the zombies swaying in the street.

These "outliers," not following the main horde, were quite excited about the sudden appearance of the "big guy" in the middle of the road.

Unfortunately, as the van’s speed steadily climbed, those eager beasts, apart from waving and following the van for the exhaust fumes, could do nothing else.

No "Runners," no "Jumpers," lacking these two speedy evolved types, the rescue team’s van practically moved unimpeded, as those "Pacers" couldn’t stop it at all.

After consecutively colliding with numerous zombies blocking the way, the van sped towards where Old Xu was trapped.

Tang Xiaoquan was positioned high, overseeing the street scene, which naturally included Hu Xiaodong driving the van.

Noticing the van getting closer and closer to Old Xu’s trapped location, Tang Xiaoquan quickly picked up the handheld radio on the desk.

At this point, there’s no need to worry about any telecommunications noise; Tang Xiaoquan pressed the talk button and forcefully instructed: "Old Xu! Brother Hu is almost at the entrance of your building; you can break out now!"

The sudden sound from the handheld radio truly startled Lei and Xu.

It’s understandable since the radio they seized from the earring man’s group had been silent for quite some time.

Suddenly hearing a sound again, especially in such a tense situation, even for battle-hardened men like Old Xu and Lei Tong, who tread the line between life and death, it was hard not to be startled.

"Understood!" Without any unnecessary words, Old Xu simply responded, then tossed the handheld radio to Lei Tong behind him.

"Are you ready?"

"Haha, I’m eager and ready!!" Lei Tong replied with a hint of playfulness.

Seeing Lei Tong so relaxed, Old Xu managed to squeeze out a rare smile: "Good! Then we’ll break out, the kid’s in your hands, watch him for me!"

"Copy that!"

"Let’s go!" As soon as the words left his mouth, Old Xu tugged open the security door in front of him.

Upon rushing out, unexpectedly, the noise from the handheld radio hadn’t attracted any zombies for investigation.

Seeing not a single beast blocking the door, Old Xu, who was ready to chop, restrained his weapon and boldly went outside.

Meanwhile, almost at the same moment Old Xu and Lei Tong were preparing, Hu Xiaodong’s van arrived just in time.

With a sudden braking, the van screeched dramatically, skidding to a halt at the building entrance.

Old Xu clearly heard the commotion outside, the roaring engine was extremely loud in the silent street.

But that wasn’t his concern, because as he darted out, he saw several Black Shadows swaying outside the lobby.

Ready for battle, Old Xu gripped his knife handle tightly, charging at the nearest zombie first.

But what Old Xu didn’t expect was that this beast made no defensive reaction to his attack; instead, it arrogantly turned its back on him, moving in the opposite direction.

What’s going on here!? Nima!

Old Xu didn’t have time to think; as a professional soldier, he wouldn’t miss any opportunity to eliminate an opponent.

The cleaver whirled as the blade slashed straight at the back of the beast’s head.

Immediately, the foolish beast paid the price for its "careless disregard."

After the kill, Old Xu quickly retrieved his cleaver, without confirming the zombie’s condition, and leaped towards another target.

As expected, the targeted zombie showed no reaction, still ignoring Old Xu with its back turned.

Unsurprisingly, Old Xu swiftly took it down again.

However, compared to Old Xu’s easy handling, Hua Biao and Wei Dazhuang, who were ordered by Hu Xiaodong to get out of the vehicle for immediate rescue, encountered quite some obstruction from the zombies.

Damn it! The outside engine sound attracted the zombies.

Now realizing this, Old Xu didn’t display a hint of relief; instead, he felt a sense of solemnity.

He was feeling relaxed here; outside, the brothers were definitely being blocked by zombies.

Imagining the situation the engine sound might cause, Old Xu felt anxious and impatient.

He immediately hastened his pace, slaughtering while charging outward.

Tang Xiaoquan stood inside the room, closely monitoring the street condition, very anxious about the inside situation of the opposite building, as several sound sources had already become damaged within a short time.

He quickly counted, realizing only 5 sound sources were still functioning.

"Hurry up! Hurry up! You need to be quick!"

Undoubtedly, once the sound sources cease, the noise from Hu Xiaodong’s van engine would instantly become the zombies’ focal point.

Even though the zombie army had already largely reached Kanghui Mansion’s vicinity.

But Kanghui Mansion was merely three blocks away from the building where Old Xu was trapped, with a direct distance of only about a hundred meters.
