Chapter 1130: Chapter 1118: Old Xu Rescue Plan (16)

On the other hand, what Tang Xiaoquan was considering was indeed not without reason.

The situation is full of uncertainties, many things were anticipated before the battle, yet when they occur, they still catch everyone off guard.

Not to mention, especially the audio equipment in Kanghui Mansion, such failure speed is indeed beyond Tang Xiaoquan’s expectations.

Just during the brief conversation, another signal light on the central control went out; seeing this situation, even the ever-composed Tang Xiaoquan couldn’t remain calm.

After all, he promised Hua Biao to rescue Old Xu and Lei Tong.

If this mission fails, Tang Xiaoquan truly doesn’t know how to face fellow brothers like Hua Biao in Sharp Blade Company.

And by then, he believes no one would care about the objections raised by Duan Chengwu at present.

So the arrow is on the string, it must be shot; since he’s destined to take the blame, he must take big risks.

"Xiaowu! Now is not the time to dwell on those issues. Look at the state of this equipment; if we continue to delay, it will be too late for anything!" With a forceful urge, Tang Xiaoquan inadvertently raised his tone.

"Wealth comes with risk, Xiaowu, now there are no good choices. Rescuing is something that will have to be done sooner or later, better sooner than later. I think Quan Zi is right, instead of waiting for the audio equipment to be completely destroyed before acting, we should plan early. If any problem arises, we’ll have room to maneuver."

Wang Qiang’s agreement surprised Tang Xiaoquan.

Although he knows his friend’s personality changed after being hit by a romantic setback.

But each time he speaks for him, it’s still quite awkward.

Listening to the diminishing noise outside the building, watching the gradually extinguished signals on the central control, Duan Chengwu tightened the phone in his hand; a few seconds later, as if determined: "Alright, let’s do as Xiaotang suggests. I’ll send a message to Old Xu right away."

Taking a long breath, Tang Xiaoquan was quite glad that Duan Chengwu was the one staying inside.

If it were Hua Biao here, the persuasion would probably be much more difficult.

But anyway, the final result, his proposal was smoothly approved.

Wang Qiang used the hand-held radio to issue instructions to Hu Xiaodong downstairs, while Duan Chengwu was busy composing a message on his phone.

Almost simultaneously, both Hu Xiaodong’s team and Xu Renjie inside the building received instructions from Tang Xiaoquan in the small building.

"Everyone, get ready, we’ll be heading out soon!"

"Understood!" Hua Biao was undoubtedly the most nervous and excited among the rescue team members.

He had waited a long time for this day, and today finally he had an opportunity to act.

Meanwhile, Old Xu also informed Lei Tong about the message from Duan Chengwu.

Then he quickly replied in coordination with Duan Chengwu: "Order received, proceeding immediately!"

"Quan Zi! Old Xu has started!" Brief and to the point, Duan Chengwu immediately reported the received message to Tang Xiaoquan.

Tang Xiaoquan nodded, his palm holding the binoculars was sweating profusely, undoubtedly he was a bit nervous.

No surprise, after all, it concerns the life and death of a group of brothers.

Brutally put, everyone is entrusting their lives to him now, and any slight mistake would be an unendurable burden to Tang Xiaoquan.

But this is life, if one wishes to grow, one must take on responsibilities.

Only those who dare to bear responsibility are truly beneficial to the team and have a sense of duty.

Fortunately, this wasn’t the first time Tang Xiaoquan had experienced such things; throughout past years, he had repeatedly saved the team from crises.

Each decision he made hovered on the line between life and death, yet the result? The team has survived till now, isn’t that the best illustration?

Inside the small room, Xu Renjie carefully checked the young one’s clothes, trying to cover all his skin.

Since he already knew the boy’s father was with the team members, Old Xu was well aware that if the boy had issues, it might lead to conflict.

"Remember what I told you before, stay calm when we go out later, stick close to Uncle Lei, follow instructions! Do not run off on your own! Understood?" Xu Renjie repeated the details once more, and the young one nodded firmly upon hearing it.

"Good! Lei Zi, when going out, I’ll lead, you’ll cover the rear. Take care of the kid!"

"Understood, Company Commander, don’t worry, leave him to me!" Lei Tong patted his chest confidently to respond.

Once the instructions were given, Old Xu stood up, peered through the peephole of the security door.

After confirming there’s no creature in front of the door, he rested his ear on the door panel to listen carefully for a while more.

Done, he gestured "OK" to Lei Tong behind him.

Opening the door, Old Xu first stuck his head out to look around, indeed there was no movement.

"Let’s go!"

As the sound dropped, Old Xu continued forward, while Lei Tong held the young one and followed closely.

Xu Renjie could confirm there were no zombies on this level of the floor, but whether there were any in the safety passage, he couldn’t be sure.

Upon reaching the passage entrance, Old Xu paused; the passage door was wide open at this moment, he peeked inside, then leaped in.

Then he leaned on the staircase railing, peering downstairs, hoping to ascertain the situation below.

Unfortunately, the hallway gap was too small, the view was limited, making it impossible to see the situation in the aisle below.

With no choice, Old Xu signaled to Lei Tong to keep a certain distance from him, then he led the way as a "guinea pig" to test the route.

Old Xu moved very carefully, although knowing the brothers outside might be waiting at the destination.

But at such a juncture, the more anxious one’s mindset, the easier it is to go wrong.

To be prudent, Old Xu remained cautiously descending floor by floor.

At each corner, his steps consciously paused for several seconds, only after verifying the situation of the lower floor would he proceed.

After passing five floors, upon entering the fourth floor, Old Xu’s eyes were immediately greeted with a deep red.

The walls, the ground, the splattered blood had long dried and dimmed under the erosion of time.

A skeleton with no flesh lay quietly there, narrating its tragic fate.

Obviously, this skeleton wasn’t encountered by Old Xu and his team during their escape, so it can be assured that the owner of the skeleton was part of the villains gang.

Old Xu didn’t have any good feelings towards those scoundrels, so naturally, he had no compassion for the tragically dead skeleton against him.

Serves you right!

With this disdain, Old Xu stepped over the skeleton and descended to the third floor, encountering another situation.

But this time he collided not with a lifeless skeleton, but with a zombie crawling on the floor missing half a leg.

It seems those scoundrels aren’t completely incapable; at least they had cut off this creature’s leg.

Through indirect mining, Old Xu’s praise for the bandits was clearly mockery of their incompetence.

After all, who cuts a zombie just by the leg? And with so many people, they only left such a "masterpiece" in the hallway.
