Chapter 1122: Chapter 1110: Operation Rescue Old Xu Begins (8)

The impatient Wei Dazhuang felt Hu Xiaodong was being long-winded, so after tapping his head twice more, he impatiently replied, "Got it!"

Counting down three numbers, Hu Xiaodong withdrew his body, slightly widening the gap in the door.

Inside, the zombies saw the barricading door slowly open, and rushed forward in a frenzy wanting to flood in.

A lucky one managed to poke its head through when Hu Xiaodong kicked the lower side of the door, halting its expansion.

Once the door was obstructed, the "lucky one" immediately froze.

Meanwhile, Wei Dazhuang, who had been guarding the other side, swiftly raised his knife and slashed down.

The "lucky one’s" head was instantly sliced in half by the sharp blade.

The creature fell helplessly, and Hu Xiaodong pushed back effortlessly, causing the zombie’s body to tumble backward.

The first one killed!

But this was just the beginning, as there was clearly a large number of zombies outside the safety door.

Back and forth, relying on seamless collaboration, Hu Xiaodong and Wei Dazhuang alone successfully repelled the beast’s assault.

Finally, after the slashing continued for about 5 minutes, Tang Xiaoquan and Duan Chengwu sprinted to the entrance of the safety passage.

"Hu bro! Dazhuang bro!"

"All done?"

"Done!"

"Good! Then let’s break through!"

Hearing Hu Xiaodong’s words, Wei Dazhuang exhaled as if relieved of a heavy burden; he was long annoyed by this insignificant hacking action. He swung his knife, and growled in a deep voice, "Been waiting for you to say that!"

"Everyone get ready, once we open the door, we’ll charge!"

"Got it!"

"Prepare! 3, 2, 1!"

As the sound dropped, Hu Xiaodong stepped back and pulled the door open.

As the door opened, the clustered zombies immediately fell to the ground due to losing their balance.

The survivors paid no attention and Duan Chengwu leaped over the fallen zombies, charging out alone.

Wearing anti-stab armor, Duan Chengwu wasn’t worried about zombie scratches.

As soon as his feet touched the ground, he rushed into the enemy’s territory, knife slashing.

The zombies’ attack pattern is very simple; seeing Duan Chengwu charge out, their instinctive reaction was to swarm.

But the passage was just a bit narrow, and coupled with the previously shocked dead bodies scattered on the ground.

Any zombie moving too aggressively would stumble and fall to the ground due to instability.

In contrast, Duan Chengwu appeared reckless, but was actually very careful.

At least he wouldn’t as easily trip over corpses like the zombies do.

Just as Duan Chengwu shot forward, Wei Dazhuang followed closely behind.

The man didn’t bother with any techniques; in his eyes, dealing with zombies had no technique, just action!

With Duan and Wei paving the way ahead, Tang Xiaoquan and Hu Xiaodong found it much easier.

Holding his knife, Tang Xiaoquan started to bleed the fallen zombies one by one.

He wasn’t worried about Wei Dazhuang or Duan Chengwu’s safety because he realized, upon opening the door, that there were far fewer zombies gathering in the stairwell than he expected.

But Tang Xiaoquan hadn’t considered that the reason there were fewer was actually because Hu Xiaodong and Wei Dazhuang had used the door to block and kill many in advance.

The zombies outside were quickly cleared, and after dealing with the threat, Hu Xiaodong waved his hand, signaling the survivors to quickly move upward.

After all, though the immediate enemy was solved, who could guarantee more zombies wouldn’t rush in from behind?

Only one last floor left, Hu Xiaodong charged ahead into the building.

Upon entering, a "Climber" seemed like a welcoming guest lying in the doorway of the corridor; beside it, three "Pacers" guarded it on each side.

It’s unknown whether the zombies had prepared for the survivors, but having prepped ahead, Hu Xiaodong didn’t hesitate to release his grip.

"Swish!" No need to aim; a straight corridor packed with 4 zombies—at this density, even a fool could hit the target.

However, this shooting style might incapacitate a human opponent.

But against zombies...

The "Climber" completely disregarded the arrow shot by Hu Xiaodong.

It crawled forward as Hu Xiaodong released his shot, hitting the incoming arrow full force.

Unfortunately, the arrow didn’t hit a vital spot and failed to harm the "Climber." The beast, carrying the silver arrow, continued to charge at the Survivor Squad.

"**** it! You think no one can stop you, huh!"

Brushing aside Hu Xiaodong, Wei Dazhuang hurriedly stepped forward; he hadn’t had the chance to relish in killing the "Climber" before, and now that the beast "self-captured," how could he pass up such an excellent hunting opportunity?

Yes! With his vision clouded by hatred, Wei Dazhuang completely saw the situation as hunting instead.

He wanted to kill the "Climber" to avenge his family; he wanted to kill all beasts here to quench his heart’s resentment.

Seeing Wei Dazhuang once again act recklessly, the alarmed Hu Xiaodong grew anxious.

Drawing his bow and setting his string, but Hu Xiaodong was ultimately a step too late.

As he prepared to aim and release, the "Climber" raced forward into their ranks, where the foremost Wei Dazhuang naturally clashed with the beast.

Baring its teeth, the "Climber" exposed its sharp fangs, intending to tear Wei Dazhuang’s body with its momentum.

But Wei Dazhuang was well-prepared, he didn’t make unnecessary moves, focusing on the right moment when the "Climber" closed in, and reversed his grip, directing the knife blade towards the beast’s incoming path.

"Puff!" The brainless "Climber" seemed foolishly charged directly into it.

Its fragile skull, upon clashing with the blade, faced the consequence imaginable.

Unquestionably, its skull was instantly split open in two.

And coupled with its previous reckless "seeking death" mindset, Wei Dazhuang didn’t even need much force, as it perished under its own reckless charge.

He drew the knife and slashed again! With a blank expression, Wei Dazhuang decapitated the "Climber."

Meanwhile, as Hu Xiaodong barely completed drawing his bow, seeing Wei Dazhuang already finishing off the "Climber," he immediately shifted his aim, targeting the delayed and dragging "Pacers."

The three "Pacers" swayed their bodies as if drunk, seeming ready to tumble with the slightest touch.

Once he carefully aimed at the beast’s skull, Hu Xiaodong released his grip.

Against the slow-moving "Pacers," Hu Xiaodong’s arrow finally met expectations, successfully embedding itself atop the beast’s skull.

The beast fell, and a silhouette dashed out from beside Hu Xiaodong.

In his hand, the slanted steel blade emitted a chilling gleam.

Duan Chengwu, like a gallant hero emerging, lightly darted in front of the remaining two zombies; without waiting for them to act, he slashed both sides. The zombies’ raised arms were all severed.

Then Duan Chengwu swung horizontally, finally striking down the zombies into a limp collapse.
